Motorola Xoom :: Netflix Updated And Working On 3.2?
Jul 20, 2011
Droid-Life is reporting that Netflix 1.3 is working on Xoom 3.2.[URL]Great news for all of the Honeycomb tablets out there wishing they could have Netflix. Today Netflix updated their application to allow support for additional devices, and we sure didn't expect support for tablets. We have confirmation of it working on ASUS Transformer, Motorola XOOM, and Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1.
Updated and WiFi is fine but now Netflix is hosed. I had installed Netflix from the market. Now when I try to start Netflix it says a new version of the application is found and I have to update. Now I am in a loop that sends me to the market to update. Choosing update sends me to a screen where the only option is to open the app. And so the loop begins...new version must update.I cannot uninstall Netflix. Now it is unusable. Can anyone help? I have forced a stop of Netflix but it is the same loop. Open, must update, market, update, open, must update, market, update, open...Update-- I powered off/on and the Netflix update showed up correctly on the notification area. Updated and happy now. Checking the rest of the apps. Now I am back to enjoying my Xoom FE.
Anyone else having trouble with Netlfix on the Xoom following the upgrade to Android 4.0 (ICS)? I've uninstalled and reinstalled the Netflix app from the Android Market three times and Netflix can't connect to the server.
Netflix now works with ICS after uninstalling TV Guide app.
Every now and then I check to see if Netflix has ported over to the Xoom yet. Today I checked and it's in the android app store. After downloading I did a quick check and it's working on my WiFi Xoom.
when i open the netflix app the login screen is too large to input username/password. I have tried un-installing and re-installing a few times and changing the general font setting on the xoom, nothing has changed yet.
i tried connecting my fe to my tv tonight to watch netflix. it doesnt work for me. the video freezes up and i only hear the sound. all other aspects of hdmi out works. i can watch my movies i copied to the device or taped using the onboard video camera on my tv, Internet, etc. i was just curious if my netflix problem is a known issue or limitation?
It makes reference to invalid email/password but netflix works on my phone and any internet connected computer hardline or wifi, I'm using wifi with the Xoom and never had any problem before.
Is Moto ever going to release new images to the Device Software Images page? i know a lot of people had trouble receiving an OTA update past the HLK75D image that's currently posted for the MZ602.Just curious if the ICS image will ever get posted.I would really like to be able to flash back to ICS instead of Honeycomb. url...
I see the new forums sign in now asks for imei etc information, and tells you warranty details, thats nice, but its wrong. My warranty is 2 years, and this was confirmed by Motorola. According to this whacked out date it is out of warranty in November 2012. Some 8 months before the actual date.
i remembered that being a standout feature of our phone, and while at home on wi fi (i have a 15mbps up and down fiber connection) netflix is just not playing back in the same quality that it used to.before i felt like video playback was almost on par with guys running 720p screens with higher ppi's...(rezound/gnex), at least within this particular app. but now? it looks like any other Internet vid with the quality on high (which imo still isnt all that great and still not as good as going to the desktop site and watching a vid set to 720 or 1080).no other phone was ever touted as having this ability (though i'm sure the rezound and gnex can) and a lot of it had to do with the omap processor being used...is something up with ics thats not letting it happen? or was it the most recent netflix update that supports 4.1?
Have got 2 broadband dongles (Vodafone and 3) and used both SIMs in the XOOM and they worked fine (after the obligatory reboot). However they no longer work and try as I might i can't get them to work.
If it helps when there is no SIM in the tablet I don't get the No SIM present on the home page screen.
I have tried everything even a factory reset but nothing. don't make me buy an iPad - i couldn't stand it!
Other symptons are that the battery life seems to be much shorter now but this could be an illusion.
I have noticed on a number of occasions that I have plugged my Xoom into the charger, and come back to find that it was not being charged. Unplugging the Xoom from the end of the charger made no difference, but unplugging the charger from the mains supply and plugging it in again seems to work. This does NOT happen if you plug the Xoom charger into the mains supply, then attach the Xoom, but only if the Xoom charger has been left plugged into the mains for a while without the Xoom being attached.I think this behaviour is by DESIGN - it appears that the Xoom charger switches off internally if left connected to the mains (but NOT connected to the Xoom) for a while. Disconnecting it from, and reconnecting it to, the mains "reboots" the charger, and it works again. This is a good idea, as it decreases the power consumption of the unit (I'm afraid I have loads of non-connected power chargers left plugged into the mains).
Is anyone else having this problem? When I try to watch a movie with Netflix I recieve :"Sorry we could not reach the Netflix service. Please try again later. If the problem persists please visit the Netflix Website (1009)"I contacted Netflix and they had no idea on how to fix it. I was unable to locate a fix with Motorola either.
At the moment, you can only use Netflix on Android if you have a Samsung Nexus S, Evo 4G, Droid Incredible, T-Mobile G2 or Nexus One.Remember, the LG Revolution was supposed to be the first phone with Netflix, but obviously, something changed because it's available in the Market right now.Interestingly, there's no Motorola phones on the list of 'supported devices' and a bunch of other seemingly capable Android phones get no love either. url...
While using Netflix i get a weird popping/crackling sound. No matter which show/movie is playing. Also, what the hell is the grill above the camera? speaker? just for looks? heat vent?
I was watching a few movies on Netflix, and randomly the movie would just pause. If I tapped the screen, it would indicate the movie was paused, and if I tap "play" it would start right up again...
I'm new to Android & xoom and being long in the tooth I am enjoying the up hill learning curve. I recently bought a LUVTAB soft case for the xoom which I liked and thought good value but later noticed that the magnetic and orientation sensors weren't working (androSensor app). It took a while to suss out that it was the case causing the fault. With the XOOM 90% into the case all is well, it isn''t until the Motorola logo at the top goes under the case lip that the sensors stop working. So the question is has anyone else noted this effect?
how to get a Bluetooth alarm app working on the Xoom? Something that connects the Xoom to my phone via Bluetooth and alerts me if the Xoom gets far enough away to lose the Bluetooth connection. I want to use something like 'StayCloseToMe' (in the Market) but I don't see a way to keep the Xoom connecteced to my phone. It doesn't stay connected to the phone like a headset would.
I have OCS pushed to my device (WiFi only) in late January. It's been working well. But today I noticed when trying to do Skype that the front camera no longer works. I deleted Skype and a number of other apps thinking they might be the problem but no change. If I start the camera app it just presents a blank screen and then Stops. I deleted all the application data for the camera and the cache and restarted it. Now the camera works and shows an image from the rear camera. But as soon as I try to switch to the front camera, the app hangs as above and won't start again until I Force Stop it and delete the application data.
I just bought a Xoom wifi only because I thought it would be handy to have a tablet that I can use to swap files between my pc and my device, and now I see that though there is an sd slot it's pretty much just a decoration at this point. Does anyone know if there is a way to get this thing to work, or when Motorola/Andriod will fix that? And yes, I do know there are apps that I can use to access PC files over a wireless network, but i wanted to be able to bring a few sd cards worth of movies with me on the road when i travel since after i fill the device up with music and apps there's not a whole lot of room left.
I have a XOOM 3G and a Motorola S305 headset. I am able to pair but the pairing is only for media. I want to be able to use my S305 for GTalk and other VOIP applications. Support told me that the microphone is application independent but those "settings" don't show up. I have used other Bluetooth devices just fine and able to use the mic and media functions.
In fact, you may want to try it even if Facebook is working.
Facebook recently made some changes to its application and it won't show up any longer on the Honeycomb market. If you have it on there already it should work.
But I suggest you given FriendMe a try. It's a very nice Facebook app that takes advantage of some Honeycomb capabilites. I use it over the regular Facebook app (mine still works) despite a few bugs.
I have a Verizon Xoom running 3.2, and since the update it appers as though I cannot open a link to a web page, or a document from a file browser (File Manager HD and ES File Explorer) or a link from Newsr feed reader. when I click on a link, the screen darkens a bit as if transitioning, but then nothing happens.
I'm trying to watch movies on Netflix with my Droid Bionic. Every 45 minutes Task Manager interrupts and states that the app has been running for 45 minutes and is consuming battery resources. At this point Task Manager asks me if I want to continue running the app. I can't find any setting to disable this. Netflix is not on the "end" list for Task Manager.
When coming out of sleep mode the touchscreen stops working. Of course several times this has been right at the moment I grab the tablet to show how equal or dominant over the iPad it is.
