View 1 RepliesI have tried google hangout, skype, yahoo video chats. All of these chats have the same problem: they cannot hear my voice or it is very very low. Tried the Skype echo test and found out that actually had something wrong with tablet's microphone captures voice at very low volume. I can't find any setting where I can increase the volume of the microphone.

View 2 Replies View RelatedWoke up this morning and hit the power button the xoom to wake it up and got nothing, just a black screen. Have tried the power button with volume up several times (and for way longer than 3 seconds) and am still not getting any sign of life.Last night before I put it into standby I was browsing the net over wifi. GPS was also turned on, battery left was good (around 90%) I plugged the charger in this morning thinking maybe battery had gone flat, charge indicator came on white, it is now green but still no sign of life.3g xoom, not rooted, stock firmware.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI powered down this morning (battery was still at about 30%) and plugged in the charger at work. After charging all morning, the indicator light is green. Tried to turn it on and...nothing.
I have tried holding the power button, holding the power button and volumn up at the same time, holding the power button and volumn down at the same time, taking out the sd card and trying all of the above again, and nothing!
It is plugged into the charger, has been all morning, and the indicator light is green. It stays green while I try to turn it on and...nothing.
I can't get my Xoom to turn on the backlight. I can see that everything else works, by using reflective light I can see enough to do some simple actions, like changing brightness settings, and accept the shutdown dialog.I have tried anything that I can think off; turning on and off automatic brightness, cold reset, and shutting down and restart.
There doesn't seem to be a hardware error. I managed to get it to work again for a while yesterday, but I haven't been able to repeat that today.
Does anyone have any idea on how to turn the backlight on?
tired to hear my xoom telling me what i'm typing to the keyboard or the name of the web page that i visit.is there a way to turn off the voice, if not, will it be possible to do it in 3.1 or future 3.2

View 3 Replies View Relatedhow to turn off the CNN "Breaking News" feed? My Xoom chirps at me all day long; not with calendar appointments (which I like) but with stupid newsbites (which I don't). If I can't turn it off, I would at least like to know if I can disable the notification audio for just that program!
View 2 Replies View RelatedI've tried several of the book apps and all of them exhibit one big problem.
They turn the pages by themselves sometimes. Sometimes only a page or two sometimes 30 pages.
I've decided this isn't likely a problem with the book apps but with the Xoom itself more than likely. with books turning pages by themselves?
I've had my xoom for quite some time now and this has bothered me from day one and I can't figure out how to make it stop. On the keyboard, if you hover ever so slightly too long over the "s" or the "e" or any number of letters on the keyboard the xoom changes that to a special character. How do you turn this blasted thing off. I NEVER use those, will NEVER need them and don't want the keyboard to do it.

View 3 Replies View RelatedIs there any way to turn the orientation of the screen when the HDMI cable is plugged in.
Currently when i use the HDMI cable the screen turns such that the cable goes in from the bottom which if the XOOM is on my lap is awkward. It would bebetter if the HDMI port was at the top.
can you use the imessage microphone with an external microphone to dictate to pages or notes?

View 11 Replies View RelatedI bought the device few days ago and on very same day updated to Android ver. 3.2. I use internet over my home Wifi and have a Netgear - WGR614 router. The browsing speed is very very slow and most sites dont open. The signal strength shown in xoom is - (-105 dBm 3 asu).Is this a issue with Android 3.2 update or my home wifi is weak? Would i be able to reset the tab to the original version?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI've tried to connect an external microphone so I can use my Droid 4 to record high quality video podcasts, but the video apps don't appear to allow input from anything other than the internal microphone. Even a bluetooth microphone. Other droids allow allow high quality microphones. The microphone adapters that work on the Samsung Droid Charge (and the iphone) don't work on Droid 4. It appears to have a different microphone wiring configuration.
View 1 Replies View RelatedHas anyone had any success with using Wifi that required user certificates? I'm trying to get my Xoom to connect to the corporate network (EAP-TLS) and followed the instructions for the IPad and imported my certificated into Android correctly. But when I connect, it hangs at the connecting state for minutes, before finally giving up.

View 3 Replies View RelatedVoice input quits working when I place the phone in the car dock. Voice search (the app you get to by holding search) and Soundhound give me errors every time I try to use them with the vehicle dock connected. If I disconnect the vehicle dock, they work again, and as soon as I reconnect it they quit working.
Strangely enough, the app "Text by Voice" seems to be unaffected.
I have a Droid Turbo. Sometime today the little microphone button on my home page has stopped working when pressed. It only happens on my homepages on the phone, so if I tap on Google and bring up the browser page or then I can tap on the microphone and talk.
If I'm on the Home Screen; however, I can press it again and again and it is totally unresponsive. I have tried:
-turning the phone off and on again,
- going onto home-screen settings and turning google search on and off
- downloaded a anti-virus program suggested by a friend with the same phone and done searches.
This may seem like a rather small issue, but I use that microphone button a lot when using my phone.
Can anyone recommend an app that will allow me to show .ppt files diretly on the Xoom non-US model? I had an idea it was possible with an app included in US Xooms but not to us outside the USA.

View 10 Replies View RelatedThis post is for all of us who bought the Xoom because 4g speed was an important factor to us. We've been informed by email that our Xoom 4G upgrade will be available in September (2011), early Sept or late Sept who knows. We'll also have to send the Xoom back for the upgrade so the inconvenience factor to get our 4g is high.
Well for those of us [i.e. myself] who bought early in the hopes that Motorola would exceed our personal expectations and put the upgrade in our Xooms quickly after the initial Xoom release on Feb 24, 2011, we've been disappointed with this unreasonably long delay.
The bar of what we expect from Motorola is now set by the Galaxy tab 4G and the tab speeds are, well, phenomenal.[URL].. So, a personal observation, the upgrade had better be stellar and fast now that the Xoom will [maybe?] be the No. 2 4g tablet on the Verizon network. You can't win the first to 4g tablet market race but you sure better not blow the performance side of 4g.
There is a lot to like about the tablet, but some features I'm disappointed in. I was looking at the "supported devices" page for the Motocast USB software and it does not include this tablet. At the bottom of the page, it also says "MotoCast USB software works with most but not all of Motorola's Android devices." Is it possible to use it on the FE?
