Motorola Droid Razr :: System Update On Maxx?
Mar 28, 2012I did the system update on my Razr Maxx today & when it restarted, it said that my SIM card was recently removed & that I needed to verify my Motoblur password. Well, I didn't know what that was so my phone was totally locked. I got home & looked it up & it wanted me to put in my Motocast password. I did that & then it told me that it looked like my carrier was Verizon & that it did not support Motoblur. What the heck. So I had to do a full system reset.

Mar 22, 2012I made several checks to update to 2.3.6 (Check for update on the phone and via MotoCast) and it tells my RAZR is up to date.I checked on your site and I saw this upgrade is available for software version SPU9 or SPU11 and user in France, Italy, Spain, and the UK.My system version is a 651.73.30 NonEFIGS, SW version SPU-11-M1-2.Will my RAZR be updated to 2.3.6 ? If not, is there a reason?

Dec 4, 2012In the three weeks since using my device the motorola contacts software has been losing name to number associations such that following a new contact entry the name associated to the number RANDOMLY breaks meaning I am losing names from my contacts but the number string remains in my call log. This has happened to approximately 20% of new entries. The same process has been followed each time. The number/name can be re-inputted subsequently and the problem does not repeat. No pattern is followed it just happens- its not time dependent either... I'm baffled and losing contacts?

Feb 15, 2012I am having an issue after the latest .173 OTA update from VZW. Update sucessfully went through but the problem came after the reboot. Under the notification bar it says 'SIM removed' and under that (fills the entire screen) says "the sim card was recently removed, sign in to your account to verify identity'. Sim was not removed. It gives Gmail and password option. When I input my password it says "your username or password is incorrect. Please check them and try again". Password is correct, as I can sign into my google account. I've tried pulling the sim while off, insert, restart, same deal.
If I don't input anything into password, it says "please enter your MOTOBLUR account and password to log in". I do not have a motoblur account.
There is always an option for a factory reset, but didnt want to go that route yet.

Apr 27, 2012I have 2 MAXXs in the family. On #1, I went into System updates and updated to 181. I keep trying to do this on #2 and keep getting the following: "Check for update is not available at this time. Try again later." This happened on #2 before, but powering off reset it. This time I have tried powering off and on several times, but still cannot get the System update to work. The settings (wifi, etc.) are the same on #1 and #2. Any ideas to get the System update to work?

Jun 16, 2012Starting yesterday I have seen the above message 3 times. The only thing I have changed on the phone was to enable Motocast yesterday. Also, I replaced the 16GB SD card with a 32GB SD card, early last week. I've only had the phone for about a month. I have been able to power the phone off and reboot and get the phone functioning again. Last night it took 2 reboots before the phone became functional again. What can I look for to determine whats causing the error?

Jan 3, 2013Unless I'm missing something, a comma no longer functions as a pause in the dialing system for a saved contact since the update. It used to be handy for dialing extension numbers, authorization codes etc. but they seem to be ignored after the update. There is also no apparent way to edit a phone number with any character other than the ones on the dialpad.

As per the original official update schedule of Motorola the update was due for this model(EUROPEAN EDITION) on Q4,2010.But this was not by Motorola.Hence on my enquiry Mark informed me that Motorola has revised the schedule and advised me to look for it.Hence I found out the the revised schedule of Q1,2011 and notice that the update has already started to roll out.But even after the end of one month after Q1,2011 I didn't receive the update.I use to check the update information in the phone everyday.It always says your systemis currently update.Whether Motorola will give me the 2.2 update ever?Will anyone of the Motorola officials or Mark himself will please clear my anxiety and advise me the steps to be taken further to get the update without anymore further delay.Further there is one more thing.Recently whenever I try for system updates in the phone by going to Settings>About Phone>System Updates a message appears "The device is unable to connect to server.Try again later.".But whenever I try again and again later the same message appears.Hence what I have to do to get the update if it has been aired?Is there any other way to find the update and download and install in the phone?the phone is connected to 2G and i can browse internet successfully.

Apr 16, 2012I like the consolidated inbox (messaging) on the RAZR Maxx. I only have 1 significant issue with the app.
We need an option/feature so that when you delete messages from the email server that they are removed from the phone. Having to redundantly delete messages from the phone that have already been deleted from the server is ridiculous.
The opposite is provided ... you can choose if you want to delete messages from the server when you delete them from the phone but the reverse needs to be provided as well.

Sep 21, 20111. I can't do a system update on the phone, I choose it and it says "Checking for available updates. Please wait..." for up to an hour.
2. Often when I try and dial people it doesnt activate a call and will just stay on the same screen. Following this it will either then dial about 10 seconds later after I've given up, or just crash.
3. It now has a tendency of just turning itself off during calls.
4. It often is unresponsive when I reply to texts. I'll use the keypad to text words, and it will be registering the keystrokes as it will be giving me predictive text suggestions, but not actually recording the words.

Nov 22, 2011So I got a notification today saying there was a system update today. So i proceed to download and install it only to find that after it restarted that my wifi won't turn on. After trying to enable it from the system menu it just says error.
So my tablet is basically useless to me now. Very disappointed no movies available on the market no 3.2. Now no wifi
If this bootloader was unlocked at least i would be able to nandroid back.

Motorola Droid X :: Can No Longer Edit Contact Groups Since Last System Update
Nov 4, 2011Ever since the last system update, the Contact Groups I created have an icon with a padlock next to them and I have no capacity to edit their content.
I can create new Groups (I assume, because there's a button that says I can), but can't change existing ones. I've tried going to the individual contacts to see if the group designation reside there now, etc. I'm wondering if this is tied to Verizon's Backup Assistant, somehow, though my groups don't appear on the web interface for that service at all.
Motorola Defy :: System Processes Randomly Force Closing After Froyo Update
Jul 15, 2011I've been having issues since I did the Froyo update on my Blue Tick upgraded Telstra defy. Australian users will know what I mean by that. I did a hard reset soon after the froyo update because a few strange things were happenning. The hard reset seemed to resolve my issues.
But now I need to reboot my phone on average once per day. I get google system processes force closing randomly. It usually happens when I'm not even using the phone. I'll pick it up to use it and there'll be a force close message. Stuff like Swype will also randomly force close. When this stuff starts to happen, a heap of my apps won't open. They just force close straight away. When I reboot everything is fine for about another 24 hours, then another google system process will force close and it all starts to happen again.
Has anyone had anything similar happen? Is there any point in doing another hard reset? I can't really see why it would make any difference doing it again. I'm currently in the middle of reformatting my sd card to see if that makes any difference.
