View 4 Replies View RelatedI was in Europe a few weeks ago with my Verizon RAZR HD running ICS. In the US on VZW's network I can easily get through the day with greater than 50% battery, While in Europe, in Germany, Switzerland and the UK, the battery was draining at a tremendous rate and would be depleted in about 4hrs. Nothing changed as far as usage, app's or other obvious things on my end to cause the issue. Any idea on what it could be? Prior 3G phones didn't suffer from this while roaming in these same countries.
View 4 Replies View Relatedand if so...is there a way to turn off 4G for most of the time and turn it back on if I am doing something that requires a lot of download time etc.

View 10 Replies View RelatedI found the System Settings > Display > Brightness > Display Power Saver checkbox, but turning it off or on doesn't seem to do anything. In fact, I noticed my Maxx's screen was darker than the Droid 4's in the store the other day, and I went into the Brightness settings and found Display Power Saver unchecked, so I checked it just to see what happened, and the screen got brighter. My brightness is always on Auto. Unchecking it had no effect. Since then I've been able to detect no difference with it checked or unchecked.
View 1 Replies View RelatedHas anyone tried this app? It uses the proximity sensor to turn the screen on. From what I have read, the "lite" version was designed for one certain phone but the pro version ($1.28) is supposed to work on all phones. There are not a lot of reviews as it is a relatively new app but almost all are positive. It is in the Google Play Store under Smart Screen On Pro. Curious to know if it actually works as they say it does. I really dislike using the power button to turn the screen on. I guess I was so used to the home button on the DX turning it on. if anyone has tried it, would like to hear yeas or nays on how it works.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI just got my Razr Maxx and charged it before using it. When the screen time out and goes to sleep i can´t turn it back on by pressing power button. I can turn it back on by doing soft reset (pressing power button and vol down) when doing soft restart I don´t have to press pin number, as needed when i turn the phone off and back on. When the phone is in the charger there i no problem.
View 1 Replies View RelatedYou know how pushing the power button silences the ringer when someone calls and you don't even have to pull your phone out. It would be nice if you could do that with the notifications also, like text and email etc. Cause sometimes I can't just get my phone out cause I'm doing something or have my hands full and so on. It should be like that with all of the sound where you can just hit the power button to silence the ringer on everything.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a weird issue. I power cycled the phone and went to unlock it and as soon as I unlocked it the ringtone started to play. I can get the phone to do this on every power cycle.

It looks like a "sync" symbol.I can turn it on and off but have no idea what it is doing and the handbook doesn't mention it.

View 5 Replies View RelatedTaking a screen shot requires holding the power and volume down buttons for a few seconds. Couldn't it be done by just pressing them? Also, it should take the screen shot when the buttons are released. As it is now, everytime I force a reboot, I also take a screen shot.
View 2 Replies View Related1. Volume button: On my phone the volume button feels loose and wiggles. If you put your finger on the button, you can wiggle it (move it) up or down or side to side.It is not in any danger of breaking off or falling off as I looked at a pic of a droid dissembled and it shows that the button has little tabs on each end like the home button of an iPhone. But it is still very annoying. Is this normal on the Moto Milestone/Droid? or a sign of a future problem. The button works as it should but feels loose.
2. SMS: I bought the Telus version of the Milestone and I have configured it for AT&T and can browse on the internet with 3G, Edge and wifi but I cannot get or send text messages. I get no error but nobody gets them or when friends send me texts I don't get them ether. Is there some sort of configuration I need to do like put AT&T SMS number into it? I am scratching my head on this
on my i9 phone the battery don't last more than 15 minutes.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have WiFi enabled. Often when I am near a wireless access point, my RAZR M still uses 4G. It's as if the WiFi is going to sleep when I power the screen off, but it doesn't wake up again. Turning WiFi off and on makes it reconnect. It seems to happen mostly when I'm at home, where I also use the Motorola flip stand with "ESP" smart charger, and a NetGear dual-band wireless router/access point.

View 15 Replies View RelatedThe Verizon Sales assistant assured me that I'd be able to Sync my Outlook with my Droid Razr as easily as I synced it with my old Blackberry Tour. Now, after several days' worth of set-up, google searches, forum searches and FAQ's, I'm come to the conclusion that Motorola did NOT build this function into the Droid Razr, and I have to pay a hefty fee for a decent 3rd-party app to do what my Blackberry did for free. Have I missed something?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI frequently hit adjacent keys while texting on my old Droid X. A larger screen and of course 4G and a faster processor were appealing as well. As the Razr HD models sport screens almost as large as the S3 I ran to see them on their first day out of the gates. What a disappointment! Holding my old Droid X up against them I saw that the usable screen sizes were identical. Namely 4.3" unless playing videos in which case the video filled up the Razr HD's 4.7" screen. I couldn't find anything else that would fill up the screen. Perhaps, photos might. But internet browsing, texting and whatever else I tried occupied a 4.3" inset within the 4.7" screen. So why have a 4.7" screen at all? The Galaxy S3 on the other hand fills up the entire 4.8" screen with not only video but everything else, including texting, messaging, web browsing, and everything else I tried. So what gives? Why did you even create a 4.7" screen if you aren't going to utilize it to its full potential?

View 3 Replies View RelatedI recently purchased a non-us atrix with Bell Mobility.Everything works well except when I tried loading it with music and playing them. The play speed is too fast so it sounds wierd.I tried using the OEM player and a few other ones (Win Amp, Power Amo) but the results are the same.Si it does not appear to be a problem with the player. In addition, when I played a video (MP4), the video plays normally, but the audio sounds similarly wierd (i.e. with high pitch as if it is played at high speed).
View 11 Replies View RelatedOn Oct 20, we switched from AT&T to Verizon Wireless after being with AT&T for over 10 years. We had iPhones and had to get new phones when we switched. The Verizon salesperson convinced me and my adult daughter to get the RAZR HD that had just come out and he said it was better than the iPhone. My husband stayed with an iPhone because he is a commercial pilot and needed to use aviation apps that were not available on a DROID phone. Initially we were very impressed with the RAZR HD until my daughter had a problem with hers after just 20 days of use. She is an EMT and was on duty sitting in her ambulance. She has to have a phone on her while working. She used her phone several times and had it in her front pocket. She took the phone out of her pocket to call us and the screen was black and not functioning—a few minutes before it was working fine. She noticed some spider cracks in the LCD at the edge of the screen. She took the phone back to the store where it was purchased and the Verizon salesperson accused her of abusing/dropping it and said she would have to file an insurance claim which would cost $99. I was shocked. Our iPhones had heavy mobile use and were even dropped several times, including on cement, but never failed. I told our daughter we had no intention of filing an insurance claim for a defective product that should be covered under warranty. For all we know, it had damage before we even bought it from Verizon. But when she contacted Motorola, they said a screen failure due to a cracked screen was not covered but she could send it in to be evaluated. When we read the warranty, it does not say this. It says it doesn't cover damage caused by accidents, abuse, misuse, including improper usage or operation, abuse or neglect, or impact damage, such as dropping the phone. The phone had not been dropped, abused, or misused. There is not a scratch or any physical damage on the phone and the glass. The phone failed under normal use. The LCD screen under the glass fractured. Normal use should not cause this unless there was a manufacturer's defect in the phone. I.contacted my dad who works with digital and analog wireless technologies/hardware, and he told us to file a warranty claim. He said the phone has an accelerometer in it that detects G-force and impact and Motorola should provide us the data that shows the phone was impacted outside the tolerance thresholds for normal use. Well clearly Motorola and Verizon are just scamming customers and ripping them off. How convenient for Motorola to automatically tell a client all screen failures are due to customer damage. We should have stuck with iPhones and the AppleCare. Apple stands behind the quality of their products and would have never questioned replacing a phone for a defective LCD, i.e., no broken glass, just screen failure. You get a replacement on the spot. Oh but not Motorola—mail it in and then you are without a phone for how long??? We are going on 24 days now. Motorola got the phone and sent a picture of the phone screen (included) and said it was physically damaged—said it would cost $99 to fix—interesting how that is the same amount as the Verizon insurance deductible. Really--they are insulting my intelligence... I called them up and told them to provide me the accelerometer data—I wanted proof the phone was damaged by us and not defective. They still have the phone and have not responded to my request for over a week now. I told customer service that Motorola should be ready for a fight—we will file a report with the FTC and the BBB if they don't repair or replace the phone at no cost. I am very angry about this poor customer service. If we dropped the phone and cracked it up, well that is what insurance is for and that is why we bought the insurance. I would not expect Motorola to fix a phone for free if we broke it, but this is not the case and it is just outrageous. I am worried the same thing will soon happen to my RAZR HD which has overheated while it was charging. The phone is so thin that any expansion in the case is going to put pressure on the LCD. I am wondering how we are going to make it through a 2-year contract with Verizon when the Motorola phone can't even handle normal mobile use. I used my AT&T iPhone 3Gs for over 3 years before switching to Verizon and the RAZR HD and the iPhone still works well as a Smart device for email, photos and music. Clearly Apple has a superior product and also knows how to take care of customers. We called Motorola customer service again today since we aren't seeing any information online regarding the current status of our phone, and they couldn't even tell us what the status is. They have had the phone for over 2 weeks. If Motorola doesn't do what is right, they will lose us as customers. This is so frustrating.

View 13 Replies View RelatedI've had my Atrix HD for a couple of months, and am generally quite happy with it. The biggest problem I'm having with it is how fast the battery drains when I'm not connected to WIFI. Most of the time I am on WIFI either at work or home. When on WIFI the battery lasts 12 hours or more easily with reasonable use. However, if I'm on the road or out somewhere not connected to WIFI, the battery will drain very quick. For example, yesterday I unplugged my phone at about noon and was at home all day. At 9pm it still had 60% charge. I then left home for the evening, and by midnight the phone was dead. I didn't even make any calls, only checked an address on Google Maps. I did notice the phone was pretty warm during that time.
I've tried turning off WIFI and Bluetooth when I'm out, it doesn't help. It doesn't seem to matter if the phone is on an LTE network or not, as far as I can tell. I had an Atrix 4G previous to this, and never noticed a difference in battery consumption whether I was connected to WIFI or 4G, it seemed pretty consistant.
Just got my upgraded XOOM back a few days ago, and I've noticed that the battery life is far, far worse than it was before I sent it away. I mainly use my XOOM for reading ebooks, so I nearly always have airplane mode on. Before the upgrade, I could go several days, sometimes even a week before having to charge the battery, even with occasional excursions outside airplane mode.
However, after the upgrade, I can have the XOOM fully charged, in airplane mode, read for an hour just before going to sleep, shut off the screen, and wake up the next day with 60% battery remaining, as opposed to being in the 90-95% range before the upgrade.
The battery usage app shows 87% screen, 11% idle, 3% drmserver. One strange thing I've noticed is that under Settings > About tablet > Status, I see this:
Network: Searching for service
Signal strength: -120dBm 16 asu
Mobile network type: Unknown:0
Service state: Radio off
Roaming: Not roaming
Mobile network state: Disconnected
Why would it be searching for service in airplane mode? Did something break in 3.2.2?
So my questions are:
1. Is anyone else experiencing the same symptoms as above (reduced battery life after upgrade, screen showing most usage)?
2. Is there any way for me to downgrade to 3.2 in order to see if that helps? I don't care if that disables 4G, since I'm not in a 4G coverage region.

View 1 Replies View RelatedFor the last couple days, I haven't been able to get more than around 4 hours from a full charge. The battery usage tool lists "Media" as the major culprit. I'm also getting frequent notifications of high CPU utilization from the task manager tool, though nothing interesting shows up in the task manager application list. (Maybe the "Media" service doesn't get shown there?) I recently upgraded to 2.3.6, but things seemed fine for the first few days, so I don't know if this is related.
I think I might have caused the issue when I removed a few mp3 music folders from my SD card using the Astro File manager. (For some reason the stock file manager would hang on trying to remove them, even though they weren't in use.) That seems to be roughly when the battery drain issues started. Also, I currently can't open the "Music" or "Gallery" applications - they just hang and eventually I get the force close option. I've rebooted multiple times, but this doesn't go away.
