I've got the Power Control Widget on one of the screens of my RAZV.I've worked out what 4 of the 5 buttons do but I'm at a loss as to what the 4th one is. It looks like a "sync" symbol.I can turn it on and off but have no idea what it is doing and the handbook doesn't mention it.

I have seen something with rooting, and I seen something about downloading an SDK and some java stuff, but that doesn't seem secure and a lot of work for something that should be simple if possible.
I don't want to have the phone plugged into a computer, but if I have to, I will. I do not own any docks or etc, otherwise this would be really simple I know.
When did Moto update the native blur weather widget? Last time I looked at it, it kind of had the same theming as the toggle widgets. It looks pretty nice now. how often the widget updates? There is no option to change the update interval so I'm wondering how often it actually does this.

Couple of the apps this is happening with is Jango and The Weather Channel. This only started happening after upgrading to ICS.

View 11 Replies View RelatedWhenever I try to use voice input for navigation I receive the message "unfortunatelky maps has stopped. This only started after the Jelly Bean update. I have done an FDR and cache wipe. I have disabled and reenabled maps. Nothing helps. After several days with Jelly Bean I am becoming more and more convinced that ICS was a better OS. I am tired of every time we get an update that something breaks or is removed and yet more and more bloat is forced upon us.

View 2 Replies View RelatedMy question is about the circles widget. It is beyond frustration to me that it takes what seems like hours to update the weather. Even after touching the weather circle and it displaying the weather app, it still will typically not update. Maybe it's just me, but I see zero use in having a widget that tells me the weather from 2 hours ago. It is also incredibly annoying to be driving to work, the sun has been out shining bright for an hour and a half, it's 50-60F degrees outside, and I unlock the phone to see an image of the night sky and the moon, and a temp of 30F.
I would have more forgiveness if this was some random widget I downloaded from the Play store, but this came installed with the phone, created by Motorola, designed for my device. For the time being, I have actually removed it from the main screen because it has just become frustrating and I am tired of constantly tapping on the weather and hoping it will update. There doesn't even seem to be a refresh option once the weather opens. What I would really like, and what I have not found, is a way to change the frequency in which the weather is updated. Setting the location statically versus automatic doesn't seem to have an effect either. I am in an area with great signal, 4-5 bars, and always with LTE, otherwise I have WiFi, so it's not a network connection issue. It's not like I want it to update all the time while the phone is off either (and risk draining the battery), but when I unlock the phone, that seems like a good time for the widget to check and see if it's been more than X minutes since it last updated (X being the number I can configure).
how to add a widget to the home screen? i have a battery widget i want to add but if i tap and hold on the main page all i get are options for wallpapers?

The best examples of when this might come in handy:In the car, being able to turn media volume up to loud so you can stream music through your stereo and control it entirely through the car stereo. I find mysef always having to find my phone and turn media up on the phone first, so I don't accidentally blow a speaker when I get in the car without the phone connected.At work being able to turn the media volume to mute. This way I can sneak a round of Scramble or Words with Friends in without my cube neighbors hearing the tell tale sounds of the games.

After I deleted it, I went to all Apps and it's not there! So is there a way to Undo a delete or does anyone know how I can go about getting back the app that tells me how much of my data I've used?

View 1 Replies View RelatedSince using ICS on my RazrMaxx When checking email it takes forever (ok 4-8 minutes) to connect and check the mail. It is a gmail based email set up under messaging. Battery Life has dropped dramatically. No universal volume controls for messaging and calls (For example if I want to adjust my phone ringtone to be very soft by using the rocker switch on the side it now only controls just the phone ringer. Messaging would still be at the volume you have the settings at. Previously the rocker switch controlled all volume.)

Now, after several days' worth of set-up, google searches, forum searches and FAQ's, I'm come to the conclusion that Motorola did NOT build this function into the Droid Razr, and I have to pay a hefty fee for a decent 3rd-party app to do what my Blackberry did for free. View 3 Replies View RelatedI found the System Settings > Display > Brightness > Display Power Saver checkbox, but turning it off or on doesn't seem to do anything. In fact, I noticed my Maxx's screen was darker than the Droid 4's in the store the other day, and I went into the Brightness settings and found Display Power Saver unchecked, so I checked it just to see what happened, and the screen got brighter. My brightness is always on Auto. Unchecking it had no effect. Since then I've been able to detect no difference with it checked or unchecked.

From what I have read, the "lite" version was designed for one certain phone but the pro version ($1.28) is supposed to work on all phones. There are not a lot of reviews as it is a relatively new app but almost all are positive. It is in the Google Play Store under Smart Screen On Pro. Curious to know if it actually works as they say it does. I really dislike using the power button to turn the screen on. I guess I was so used to the home button on the DX turning it on. if anyone has tried it, would like to hear yeas or nays on how it works.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI just got my Razr Maxx and charged it before using it. When the screen time out and goes to sleep i canīt turn it back on by pressing power button. I can turn it back on by doing soft reset (pressing power button and vol down) when doing soft restart I donīt have to press pin number, as needed when i turn the phone off and back on. When the phone is in the charger there i no problem.

It would be nice if you could do that with the notifications also, like text and email etc. Cause sometimes I can't just get my phone out cause I'm doing something or have my hands full and so on. It should be like that with all of the sound where you can just hit the power button to silence the ringer on everything.
