It was ironic that ICS was launched on motorola RAZR just when Jelly beans was around the corner. Ignoring the fact that we were promised ICS in first quater of 2012. I would like to know does Motorola plan to release JB 4.1 for Razr/ Razr Maxx and if yes by when ?

View 3 Replies View RelatedI don't care if its not an HD resolution display, or if some apps are not compatible because of the Intel Chip.But I can't really buy a Razr I if I will not be able to install/move apps to the SD card, I can't have only 5Gb for Apps! Specially now that some apps/games can take around 600mb-1gb of space. I know some apps need to be on the internal memory, but most not.
So my question is, will this be addressed with the Jelly Bean update? If so, I think this is the phone for me, if not I guess I'll have to keep looking for another one.
Since updating to Jelly Bean, the automatic brightness feature is downright terrible. It makes using my phone on a daily basis extremely frustrating. It is too aggressive when switching between bright / dim modes, and tends to make the brightness "flicker." I also wish the phone didn't bump the screen brightness up / down rapidly. Why can't it gently fade it?

I would like to wipe my cache.I am able to power down the phone, hold both volume buttons, power on the phone, and choose "Recovery" from the black & white (bootloader?) menu. The phone proceeds to the screen with the Android character lying on his back with the red triangle showing. However I cannot get any menu options to appear as I could with ICS by holding down both volume buttons.Has anyone been able to get the "cache/date wipe" menu options to appear on the red triangle screen?
View 10 Replies View RelatedMy issues since Jelly Bean upgrade. the email client that came with my Maxx HD does not auto sync anymore, my AOL email does not sync at all even after i double check for the right password. I keep getting an error "The password and username you entered did not authenticate with your email provider." I never got this error prior to the Jelly Bean Update. I even changed my password for my aol account and entered the new password in the phone. where the hell did speed dials go.

Cannot move your applications to SD with Razr I. But it was the feature to move pictures and videos and some docs to SD automatically (in "settings - storage" area). So I could use this feature to move pics made by some apps and stored in to main memory automatically to SD card. Now it is not available any more. How can I perform this action with Jelly Bean? I have to do it manually now, connected phone to PC.

Before I upgraded to Jelly Bean I could press and hold the power button for a second and it would bring up a menu that included "Power off", "Airplane mode", "Sleep mode" and some others. Now after upgrading from ICS to Jelly Bean there is no "Sleep mode" selection.Did something go wrong with my upgrade or has "Sleep mode" been removed?Also, I was using the live wallpaper "Grass" and that is gone as well. From day 1 (two weekends ago), when I pair the phone to my Mercedes Benz 2008 (with 2010 bluetooth cradle to replace analog phone), and walk away the phone believes it is still connected (see status under wireless & network settings, bluetooth devices list)
This causes problems, such as when I receive calls the ear speaker is turned off and I cannot hear caller, or making calls the ear speaker is off.
When I later return to the car, the razr shows it is still paired (under bluetooth devices list) while the car says the phone is turned off. Need to power off/on to reset.
Called for support.
Verizon Tech believes that my car has a problem, the "car bluetooth is too old", can't keep supporting bluetooth devices that are 4+ years old
Motorola tech had me go to manage apps / bluetooth share / storage / clear data. Did not resolve problem. Need to try with another phone.
During the release and in many RAZR ads is the wallpaper below but it's not on the phone.

I'm considering purchasing a lapdock, but I'll hold off if the next version (which is promised within the coming months) doesnt support the webtop application. I had my phone setup and was about to go to bed and my device started a continuous reboot cycle that made the battery go dead by morning. I went to local store and the looked at it and said that they couldn't fix it will just give you a new one.I got a new RAZR and other that battery life issues which I am not happy about I can deal because I can have it charging in my office during the day. Well last night about 7 it started continuous reboot cycle this time I plugged it in and did a reset holding the power and the down volume. It been rebooting since last night I am not in my office with it plugged in.

I pair them, but when the driver installation starts, all but one of the 5 driver installations fail. Is this a Motorola problem and if so, is there anywhere I can download the correct drivers? I'm 90% sure everything is up to date on the laptop end of the equation.

It's as if the WiFi is going to sleep when I power the screen off, but it doesn't wake up again. Turning WiFi off and on makes it reconnect.It seems to happen mostly when I'm at home, where I also use the Motorola flip stand with "ESP" smart charger, and a NetGear dual-band wireless router/access point.

Now, after several days' worth of set-up, google searches, forum searches and FAQ's, I'm come to the conclusion that Motorola did NOT build this function into the Droid Razr, and I have to pay a hefty fee for a decent 3rd-party app to do what my Blackberry did for free. View 1 Replies View RelatedI frequently hit adjacent keys while texting on my old Droid X. A larger screen and of course 4G and a faster processor were appealing as well. As the Razr HD models sport screens almost as large as the S3 I ran to see them on their first day out of the gates. What a disappointment! Holding my old Droid X up against them I saw that the usable screen sizes were identical. Namely 4.3" unless playing videos in which case the video filled up the Razr HD's 4.7" screen. I couldn't find anything else that would fill up the screen. Perhaps, photos might. But internet browsing, texting and whatever else I tried occupied a 4.3" inset within the 4.7" screen. So why have a 4.7" screen at all? The Galaxy S3 on the other hand fills up the entire 4.8" screen with not only video but everything else, including texting, messaging, web browsing, and everything else I tried. So what gives? Why did you even create a 4.7" screen if you aren't going to utilize it to its full potential?
