I have tried to transfer my music from my computer to my phone (Motorola Photon Q) and it tells me that it cannot play them. They are a MP3 format. I've tried with both my internal storage and my sd card. If MP3 format doesn't work, then what format does the music need to be for me to be able to play it on my phone?
View 6 RepliesSince I bought my Photon earlier this week, I immediately noticed that the indicator light didn't, well, indicate. Anything, ever, at all. It didn't even light up when charging. I know this is not a burned-out LED because I've installed an app which fixes most of the problems, the app is called Light Flow. Its only limitations on the Photon are that it can't light the indicator for battery charge events/status, and it may not be able to show all the colors, but I do have it working for missed call/text, email, bluetooth on, etc. The issue is, I shouldn't need an app to do this and I want the indicator LED to show battery charge status.

My touchscreen frequently doesn't register my input in either swype or normal modes. This seems to happen primarily when searching contacts. Swype may show the word suggestion but it never appears in the search window. The only solution seems to be shutting down and removing the battery. Just restarting doesn't work. Neither does switching input methods.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI replaced my phones SD card. I thought I still had to format the new card, so went to Menu-Settings-Storage. This is where I screwed up. Instead of selecting the SD card for formatting, I clicked on Internal Storage. A check of the old SD card made me realize many of my photos & videos were wiped.
I've tried Recuva and Stellar Phoenix recovery programs to no avail.
I just didn't realize everything was going to internal storage. Is data recovery a lost cause?
The compass on my phone does not work, No matter which direction the phone is facing, it indicates that direction is north. This is true in every app tried so far (Compass, Google maps, Google sky map). The x,y,z values for magnetic field vary in the AndroSensor app as I move the phone around leaving open the possibility that it is a software rather than a device issue. If it is software, I'd think it would be a common problem. The fact that there is no discussion indicates maybe it is just my device.So, my question to this Forum is: Do others have this problem, ie is it common and software related?I prefer to avoid the hassle of setting up a new replacement device (love the Photon), but if it is just my device,

View 4 Replies View RelatedI just bought a Milestone 3 in Hong Kong. I found that it doesn't not work with the 3G, but only the 2G for normal phone conversation and SMS text.
I had tried other SIM cards of other service providers, but it does not show any luck as well.
All the settings including APN have been verified with the staff in my phone service provider. The only reply was that the phone itself may not be able to acknowledge the APN settings.
A couple of times when I called my voice mail and listened to my messages, I would press end call to end the call and nothing would happen. Well actually, the phone would be, but it wouldn't end the call. Eventually, the voice mail system gave me the boot.
In addition, I had a couple other calls from friends and when they hung up, I pressed end call. Again nothing happened. Eventually the phone ended the call.
I tried calling my voice mail just now and the end call button seemed to work.
I lost my Mp3 and now i have to use my phone temperarily for music but every time i click on the music app it sends me to the home page?

View 13 Replies View RelatedThe only time I was successful in getting WIFI to work was connecting to the OPEN connection at a Lexus Dealership. I've tried numerous times to connect to my home wireless network without success. It shows connected, but there is absolutely no Intenet. This is inexcusable for such a prominent technology company as Motorola! In my view, I believe that Motorola has omitted the WEP key or WPA key in their WIFI set-up. Does anyone else agree to that assessment? I have an electronic engineering degree and have been involved with technology since I was in high school and I would think that Motorola would answer this problem with a software update. I am sure it affects all of their smartphones with supposed WIFI capability. Other than the WIFI issue it is a great smartphone even without 4G!

View 4 Replies View RelatedI got the 3.2 upgrade for my 3G Xoom a week or so ago; I understood that when the upgrade came, it would work with SD cards just like the WiFI-only Xoom upgrade. Today I stuck a SanDisk micro SD into the slot, and I got an option in "Settings" to mount the SD, but it won't mount. Neither will computer (Vista OS) recognize an SD, nor will it create a Xoom Media section in computer file explorer when Xoom is connected by USB as the Motorola help site describes; all I get is the original Xoom folder that I had pre-3.2.

I like the size, the weight, the speed, the apps, etc. was annoying enough that I decided to use my bluetooth headset. The sound improved immeasurably by doing that. But, I noticed that while at work, listening to music, that I couldn't turn on wifi while I had bluetooth engaged. The music would haltingly play, like a skipping disk, until, finally, after about 30 seconds it stops altogether. As soon as I turned off wifi, the bluetooth playing would reengage where it left off and play perfectly.I also notice that with the plugged in mic or with my bluetooth headphones connected, if a call comes in while I'm listening to something, about 1/2 the time, the phone wouldn't ring or vibrate.
View 4 Replies View RelatedMy GPS worked splendidly for about a year with the Droid X. Now it really doesn't work at all. On Google Maps the circle never goes below a kilometer, and even with that it is usually wrong. When I try and use it to Navigate, it never tells me where to turn and I get lost because it isn't getting a signal.
I checked, and all settings were on for GPS. I restarted the phone and pulled the battery. I installed GPS Status and tried to Manage A-GPS state. First I reset, and that didn't work. Then I Downloaded and that didn't work either. The app thinks it is doing something but no satellites show up and the radar even outdoors and even not moving.
Two weeks into using my new XPRT and now the green phone button does nothing, well almost nothing. After a power down and battery remove-replace, the first time I push the phone button the screen blinks, then nothing. Each push thereafter does nothing.If I use the phone dialer app it's the same thing. To make a call I have to either use my Voice Mail which works fine, and use the redial function from voice mail, or use Contacts to make a call. If I want to call a number not in a VM or in my contacts, it can't be done.Android 2.2.2

Usually when I watch YouTube videos or play music through the music app its more than normal loud. But now ever since my Bluetooth device connected to my droid turbo (Bluetooth has been turned off to watch videos) the speaker isn't loud at all. When I put my ear to the speaker grill I can hear the sound come out of my internal speaker for phone calls.
View 4 Replies View RelatedThe plug part of my Motorola Defy stopped working so my only option at the moment is to charge via USB which isn't too great when I don't have my own computer at home at the moment so charging options are very limited.I contacted Amazon where I purchased the phone and they want me to send the whole lot back for replacement when it is just the plug part that doesn't work!i then contacted Motorola via their Chat and they were not much help either. It took them ages to respond to my query as they were busy chatting to someone else on the phone. When I eventually got a reply they said to contact CPW Accessory Repairs on 0870 087 0168. Contacted them and I was speaking to a robot and punching in different buttons on the keypad. Eventually it said to bring it in to one of the CPW stores and they may be able to help repair or replace it.What an absolute farce. It's absurd and impractical that Amazon have to replace the whole thing instead of just the small part that is faulty. It is just the plug part that doesn't work and I can't be sending the whole thing back with all my applications and viewranger maps to have to reinstall it all over again.
