Nov 15, 2012I have an 8GB model and current firmware version is MA 1.7.10 N8. When I check the websites it says the latest firmware is 1.7.11 N8. When I connect to the system and check for latest software, motocast always report back saying there is not new files to update. May I know how to upgrade to the latest firmware?

Aug 9, 2012I bought my Golf Edition a few days ago. Ran into some issues but eventually resolved it myself (as I ended up in a circle trying to reach someone that could support me from Motorola but without any luck). Just want to share my experience so that if someone ran into the same issue, they probably can try it.I live in Ontario, Canada. My Motoactv came with US maps and I needed to download Canadian course packs.I have my device connected by USB. I followed the instruction on screen to download the Canadian Ontario packs. It gave it a five seconds trial and gave me an error of "Insufficient Memory, remove some music". I have no music stored and i had over 12 Gb of space left. I reset eveything to factory condition and still didn't work.
I went to a Wi-Fi hotspot at my golf club, got it connected and retried again over Wi-Fi. It didn't work and gave me the same incorrect error message.Getting quite frustrated, I was trying one last time at home before makting the decision to return it, placing the device close to my Wi-Fi router at home. This time it works very well, and downloaded everything.So, it looks like that the "Insufficient Memory" message could mean that the connection between the device and the server is not strong or fast enough and have nothing to do with memory. The work around is to retry in a place when the Wi-Fi connection is very strong and fast.

Aug 17, 2011I upgraded my flipside with 2.2 and I initially had 60mb of internal memory left.
The 2.2 upgrade also came with the adobe flash 10.1 player. It cannot be moved to the sd card. Since then I have installed iheart radio and a market and a map update was installed. Now I have about 36mb left.
How many mb's do you have left after upgrading to 2.2?
Do you think this upgrade is going to be workable with the phone or will we just not be able to download a bunch of apps?

Aug 7, 2012I've owned the MotoActv for two month, I got the mysterious "moisture issues" that everyone seems to be getting even though I've never used it in the rain. But the thing that is driving me nuts is the music. When I hit random shuffle of all my songs, I hear songs I don't want to hear... song that I do not own on my computer. Where are these songs coming from? Today I heard "Boot Scoot Boogie!" I abhore country music as does my wife. Doing a computer wide search shows no evidence that the song exists on my computer. Yet there it is playing in mile four. Other mystery songs have showed up too. The performance music playlist seems to be filled with songs I never heard of, yet evidently I perform well to them.

Nov 28, 2011I have just bough a Lexar 32GB class 10 Micro SD card that I am trying to use to replace the current 8GB class 4 card in my Nokia E72. I am trying to copy the data that is on the old card over to the new card. I have used the Nokia suite to make a backup and then resort that back up to the new card but then some of my apps are not there. I have also tried to copy the conents of the old card to the my computer using a card reader and then copy this to the new card (inclusing all hidden files, using Windows Explorer). This gets me more apps back but not everything. So, what is the best way to upgrade the memory card an keep all the data?

1. Can I simply copy the data on the old/smaller card to my PC (using USB mode) and then install the new/larger memory card in my phone and copy it back? This, to me, seems to be the swiftest route to take.
2. Or, is it better to backup the old/small card using PC Suite and then restore to the new/large card? If so, why? Based on prior experience with this method I'm not sure all data is moved...

Aug 28, 2011After upgrading by E7-00 with symbian Anna, my phone frequently runs out of memory. I used RAMinfo free, it shows 125MB free RAM. THis goes down to about 95MB with frequent usage (but all apps closed). However, with the free RAM still at around 95MB, I start getting "Insufficient Memory.close other applications" error.
The only apps running in the background are whatsapp (2.6.29) and socially. I have tried disabling socially for a day and the problem continues. DUring this time, if I scroll through homescreens, my widgets disappear randomly and new applications fail to launch.

Aug 28, 2010Just upgraded to the OS6 on my Bold 9700. Just love the new firm way. It works great but I have one problem. I slowly loose memory through the day. I do a battery pull and I start with 36MB free by the end of the day say 16 hours later I am done to 21 or 22 MB. I have to do a battery pull every day to reset memory.

Jan 1, 2011Try the remote lock message (message you sent in the SMS to lock the phone remotely) as the memory card unlock password.I upgraded my phone from v210.21.006 to v500.21.009 today. Took all the usual precautions like removing remote lock (didn't reset the custom lock code to default) backup content to PC & memory card, then removed the card from the phone before upgrade. Then after upgrade and restoring settings inserted the card & was prompted for a password. Tried lock code/default lock code before and various other passwords before figuring out it might be the message text for the remote lock.

Feb 23, 2010I have Phone A which I was told to upgrade to resolve an issue. Before upgrading, I used manage messages to copy messages by a specific contact to my memory card. After backing up, I checked the memory card tab to see that those messages had been transferred they had. I removed the memory card so the upgrade won't accidently delete stuff on there from Phone A and continued with the upgrade. After the upgrade, I put the memory card back in and went to manage messages to restore them nothing showed.
I was on the phone to sony ericsson for half hour and they couldn't figure out why they were not showing, saying I had not backed them up, but I know I had. I have another phone which is the same as Phone A. I inserted the memory card into Phone B, went to manage messages. It showed messages on the card, but those that I must have backed up a few months ago rather than those I backed up today which didn't show in Phone A
It seems it only reads SMS's on the card dependant on the firmware version. How can I retrieve the messages I backed up today? I've been told I can't rollback the firmware version and even if I did, I didn't note down what it was. Those messages were REALLY importants and I would very much like to get them back.
