Last night I changed the wallpaper to a new picture.Following the completion of that, the screen went black.Battery was not low.I plugged in the charger and the screen came back on but was locked up.Unplugging the charger made it go black again.I left it on the charger overnight and nothing had changed this morning.I removed the battery for a few minutes then replaced it.I turned the phone on and start up seemed normal until the four nav buttons at the bottom lit up and the screen dimmed.A few seconds later the screen went black and nothing I tried would bring it back on, short of removing the battery and starting over, again.
I last used my Bionic around 1:00 PM today. It timed out and I put it in my case. Move the clock forward to 3:00 PM. I pull it out of the case at the dentist office to kill some time before my appointment and it was very warm and would not power on. Thinking it may be the BSOD issue that I have experienced twice already, I did a battery pull. To no avail. Hooked up to a charger when I got back to work and still nothing. I attempted to capture a debug report for Matt but I believe the battery was completely drained. If I cant get it to start up and have to return it what personal data is on the internal storage?
I have a weird issue that keeps popping up. Occasionally, I pull the power from my phone and the battery indicator says that it is still charging. If I shut the phone down, it will boot right back up because it thinks the power is connected. It doesn't do this all the time but when it does, my battery goes into a serious drain. I also have noticed that once in awhile, when the phone comes out of nighttime power saving, 3G don't come back and the battery drains big time.
My Bionic was working fine all day. I put it my hip pouch and when I got it out in the car about 5 minutes later it had powered off and will not respond to the power button.I have reseated the battery a few times, including leaving it out for 8 hours. I tried another battery in the store but no change. I have tried the power button with one or both of the volume buttons pressed. To no avail. There is no response from it when it is connected to a charger but if I connect it to a PC USB cable with the battery removed I get a solid white notification LED. This is the only response I get of any kind but keeps me hoping that something is alive in there!!
Just to reiterate the phone was not dropped or anything, nor had it done any s/w updates as I have it set to update only when on WiFi, which it was not.Verizon are sending a replacement but I have a load of data and info and of course most of that is on the internal memory and I won't be able to recover it. Since I am an engineer working with software you wouold assume that I would have had it fully backed up as I do with the devices I work on .... but I kept meaning to get to that!! Please no responses of "You should have had it backed up". I know that and right now that won't help!!Does anyone have any ideas about forcing a reset that might get it to power up? I notice behind the battery cover that there are 4 open pins about half way up the case on the right (when looking from the back). I didn't know if these have any reset functionality
Since I updated my RAZR with ICS, it doesn't seem to really go to sleep. It's using a ton of battery power and I've already adjusted my display down to 30 seconds.
Has anyone else noticed that after installing the update if I power off the Droid X and turn it on again it takes forever to power on. It keeps waiting forever on the boot animation. It didnt take so long before the update.
I have a Droid X which has the Gingerbread update received OTA. I do not know if this is a Gingerbread issue, I just know it started recently.
When I put my phone in the Motorola Multimedia Dock (SPN5612A) my phone rapidly cycles between charging and not charging. It constantly flashes the "Disconnected" message which advises that I unplug the power adaptor to save the Earth. Power cycling the phone does not change this behavior.
I have taken the plug from the back of the dock and plugged it directly into my phone and the phone charges normally, so I know it has something to do with the multimedia dock. I also use the Motorola Car Dock (don't know model #) and my phone charges fine there, as well as with several different power adaptors, including one from my old HTC Droid Eris.
I found the System Settings > Display > Brightness > Display Power Saver checkbox, but turning it off or on doesn't seem to do anything. In fact, I noticed my Maxx's screen was darker than the Droid 4's in the store the other day, and I went into the Brightness settings and found Display Power Saver unchecked, so I checked it just to see what happened, and the screen got brighter. My brightness is always on Auto. Unchecking it had no effect. Since then I've been able to detect no difference with it checked or unchecked.
Has anyone tried this app? It uses the proximity sensor to turn the screen on. From what I have read, the "lite" version was designed for one certain phone but the pro version ($1.28) is supposed to work on all phones. There are not a lot of reviews as it is a relatively new app but almost all are positive. It is in the Google Play Store under Smart Screen On Pro. Curious to know if it actually works as they say it does. I really dislike using the power button to turn the screen on. I guess I was so used to the home button on the DX turning it on. if anyone has tried it, would like to hear yeas or nays on how it works.
Purchased the Bionic and several accessories including the car dock today. When I opened the car dock package, I discovered that the way the Bionic dock is made requires a special micro USB to regular USB cable in order to be able to power the phone while it is in the dock.
This cable is shown in the owners manual for the dock, but was not included in my package. Instead, I got a cable suitable only for plugging the audio from the Bionic headphone jack to the aux input on the car stereo.
Did anyone else get the Bionic car dock? If so, did you get the power / audio cable described in the owners manual or just the audio cable I mention above? I will probably go discuss with Verizon tomorrow too, but just wanted to know if anyone here knows what was supposed to be in the car dock package.
You know how pushing the power button silences the ringer when someone calls and you don't even have to pull your phone out. It would be nice if you could do that with the notifications also, like text and email etc. Cause sometimes I can't just get my phone out cause I'm doing something or have my hands full and so on. It should be like that with all of the sound where you can just hit the power button to silence the ringer on everything.
5.5.893 Lost connectivity. I could not get Wi-Fi or 4G. I have been doing restarts instead of battery pulls and that has been working until today. It totally locked up on the Power Off Shutting Down screen. I tried to force it off by pushing the power, up/down volume buttons and nothing happened. That may not be the correct procedure, I only find that to be a starting procedure after shutdown. I pulled the battery and it restarted fine. I also had missed a call while it was locked up because I had a voicemail after restart. I have been thinking of getting the RAZR only because it is slimmer. Am I comparing apples to oranges? What would I have to do if I couldn't pull the battery?
I want lock the screen or power off the phone by using a voice command if my friends grab the phone out of my hand to read what I am texting.
I want to be able to say "Hey Droid Turbo, lock the screen" or something similar. I tried the "Goodnight" command but the screen still stays on even though I have it set to be off while sleeping. How to achieve my goal?
I just put a hard case on my Bionic and I cant actually get it off that easily, so my question is when my phone freezes is there a battery pull shortcut like Power + volume up/down or something?its already happened once... had to take 2 spoons and a screwdriver to get the case open. and id rather not keep doing that so i dont break the case becasue its really good for my Bionic.
I have a weird issue. I power cycled the phone and went to unlock it and as soon as I unlocked it the ringtone started to play. I can get the phone to do this on every power cycle.
Does anyone have the part number or output rating of the charger that ships with the Razr Maxx? I have a box of Motorola chargers but I think I grabbed one for a headset as my phone seems to be charging slowly.
I got my tablet today and have been enjoying playing with it except for one issue. The power button is very difficult to press and get it to register. I have to press it at just the right angle and in just the right spot in order to get it to turn on or off the screen / tablet. The volume buttons make a slight clicking noise and are much easier to press so I was wondering if the power button should also move easier and make a slight clicking sound or if all the tablets have a power button that's hard to get to register?
Taking a screen shot requires holding the power and volume down buttons for a few seconds. Couldn't it be done by just pressing them? Also, it should take the screen shot when the buttons are released. As it is now, everytime I force a reboot, I also take a screen shot.
Fully charged Motorola battery in the phone will work for days and then unexpectedly lose power as though the battery disconnected. All pins okay in the phone and battery is sound yet phone will unpredictably lose power.Support recommended a Factory Data Reset to "refresh the power system inside the phone" and I'm uncertain about doing this even though all of my apps are backed up on the SD card.
As I'm sure everyone knows, the xyboard automatically powers on when in the dock. Is there any way to keep it docked (and charging) with the power off? I only ask this because I would like to keep it off at times while charging so it does not sync emails, etc. I know I could turn off the sync while charging but that would really be a pain in the butt to have to keep doing that. Especially with 5 email accounts and 2 weather apps.
It is rather unfortunate. My Curve 8310 keeps going off and never gets to finish booting. It comes on, shows the hourglass image and in less that few seconds, the screen goes black, the red led light comes on and starts booting all over. This cycle continued until the battery gets fully drained.
I was in the process of updating my iphone 4 software to ios 5.0.1 when I got an error message. My phone is stuck on the connect to itunes screen and I can't get it to connect even after I have restarted both phone and computer. What do I do?
many times I go to sync it and it gets to the last step and stalls out there. The pinwheel comes up, and then an error message. Sometimes if I disconnect it and reconnect, it will work fine. Other times it takes three or four tries.
I have a refurbished iPhone 4S. It has taken me thru all the set up (language, country, wifi, all okay.Â
On the Set Up iPhone screen, I selected "Restore from iTunes Backup". (My previous phone was a 3GS.) Next screen says "Connect to iTunes" so I connect the USB cable. Screen says "Connected to iTunes". iTunes appears to sync everything as expected. The phone's screen goes back to "Connect to iTunes" and sits there. I disconnected the cable. Nothing happens. I press the Home button, and a pop up is displayed with 4 buttons: Emergency Call, Start Again, Wi-Fi Settings, and Cancel.Â
I have tried power off, then power on, but this just starts back at the beginning of the set up (language, country, etc.).Â
The other night I scheduled an update on my Bold 9650. I thought my phone was plugged in, but for one reason or another it wasn't when i woke up. As a result, I think my phone died in the middle of the update and is now on a continuous loop. It turns on, and the white screen and tiny clock appear, and it even completes "Patching OS" 100%, but then it goes black, and restarts doing the same thing.
this issue has probably been addressed before, but I could not find the thread. Yesterday I updated two apps that I received from BB App world (I only download from there) After the apps updated, my BB restarted without being prompted to do so. Now it goes to the BB load screen, completes the bar and then just freezes. Believe it or not I was going to back it up after these two minor updates. I had to wipe the phone last month when it started looping when booting.Look the bottom line is I have spent A LOT of time replacing 2 months worth of contacts and data (and I have a lot of text messages that need to be saved) and I DO NOT wish to do it again. Is there a way that I can force it to finish loading - so I can connect to BM long enough to back everything up I did manage to connect once to the BM and it said that there was an update available - but the last time I forced an update (when I was in a boot loop), I lost everything. I have tried doing the safe mode thing - but I'm not sure if I'm doing it right because it has never worked for me! I even looked up that I was using the right "escape" button. Like I said I just need it to finish booting just once (in or out of safe mode).I forgot to put in my specs.Device: Blackberry Torch 9800 Carrier: A T & T OS: 6.0 Free Space: 186 (about) Platform 6.4.1.105.
I have a 9800 with Bell Mobility in Canada and while backing up up the phone using the Blackberry Desktop Software I was prompted about an update to the OS, specifically 6.0 Bundle 3049 (from Bundle 2647). I proceeded to do the upgrade and all seemed to be going fine i.e.- Backup (complete)- Install (complete)- Reboot (complete)But the Restore has been in 'progress' for too long now with the green progress bar seeming to be stuck at around 90% to the end but now always showingDatabase: Enhanced Gmail Plug-in (1 of 1 items)(On the grey screen of the phone there only appears the 'icon' for a computer and the phone but no connection between the two)Do I let it continue the night? At what point do I disconnect and then how do I proceed?
