The phone and car radio will pair, but will not connect. Verizon says it is because of the 4G network. Volvo North America hasn't a clue. how gets these things to talk to each other? I really would like to be "hands-free" when I am driving.

My laptop will not recognize my RAZR. I get the little sound on inserting the USB, but it says the device is not recognized. The phone IS charging, but i cannot transfer photos/movies.

View 2 Replies View Relatedi have two droid razrs on my verizon account. they are both currently with no service due to my brother sticking me with a 1500 dollar phone bill that being said one of them will not connect to wifi says "error" and thats all and the bluetooth isnt working either during my research i have found others with this same problem but no solution if neither connected i would probably shrug it off as verizon shut off my wifi access but that is not the case i have done hours of research and cant seem to find a solution on my own so my question or rather questions are as follows: How do i fix this issue if even possible? What could have caused this issue? What can i do to prevent this from happening again? Should i just try and get a replacement when i pay my bill and get service reconnected? my phones are not rooted or altered in anyway they are stock exactly the way you buy them at verizon store?
View 13 Replies View RelatedSo on saturday I tried manually installing the ICS update from over on droidforums. net.I know I know that is not advisable by most people However whats done is done.The install failed.I used the droid utility 1.7 to put gingerbread back on my phone.The phone works.I can go online, connect to wifi, make calls and doing everything like normal.I do however have a questions that i'm wondering if they are related to what I did.
1. I can't connect to 4G all of a sudden.I am only in a 4G area while i'm at work so the time I have to troubleshoot is limited.I did however read that other people are having a problem as well.I went to a store and they gave me a new sim card which didn't change anything.She believes its just the network.I guess time will tell on that.
2. I called customer support about the 4G thing and while going through the trouble shooting the guy asked for my IMEI number.in my phone it says unknown.I don't know if it ever showed a number but he seemed shocked that it said unknown so of course I think its something I did. i never told him or anyone at the store about trying to install the update in fear of them refusing to help me.
3.When I turn my phone on and the screen is loading up it takes a minute for it to get a signal.I sits there with a red circle with a line through it for a minute then the screen refreshes and I get service and 3G.Also while the screen is loading up I get a message in a blue box towards the bottom of the screen that says "Have a great day!" Which as nice as that is I never noticed that before.
From the documentation the Razr is supposed to support USB Host out of the box and allow connectivity of USB devices that do not require special drivers.Specifically mentioned were USB keyboards - which is the sole reason I purchsed the Razr over the Galaxy. I have a standard USB to micro USB adapter that I've used to connect to the phone. View 12 Replies View RelatedI've been trying to pair my MAXX to my Parrot CK3000 car kit since the ICS update with no success. Every time the phone is near the car kit, the car kit asks "Please pair device" whether the phone is paired or not. If paired, it won't connect (tapping on the device icon on the phone (under Bluetooth) produces nothing). If I forget the device and repair, I get a "pairing successful" from the car kit, but no connections, even when I make a call from the phone.
Is there a way I can force connect or get the darn connection to occur? SmartActions is disabled, in case that makes a difference. Yes, it paired and worked properly under Gingerbread.
My bluetooth works fine on other devices, but, I am having issues connecting to my car's built in system. Has anyone run into similar issues? The indicator on the car comes and goes (it has paired) but, the call button on the car won't work. The car and phone seem to be fighting each other because the strength signal on the car goes up and down and then intermittantly off.
View 6 Replies View RelatedI previously owned a HTC Windows Mobile phone that consistently showed 3G connectivity in certain areas not covered by Verizon. Now, I own the RAZR, and when in the same areas, the phone will not connect at 3G, but only at 1x, which really sucks down the battery, not to mention being totally unusable for any data needs.I realize that LTE/4G is only in the Verizon footprint, but I would expect to still be able to connect at 3G speed when in these non-Verizon locations.
View 15 Replies View RelatedRecently when I turn on bluetooth and the bluetooth device, media doesn't connect until I go into Bluetooth settings. I can sit there and wait 30 seconds after it's connected, go into Bluetooth settings, and watch it say "no media" then connect within a second. It's like the secretary opens up her spreadsheet but then doesn't start working until I enter the room. It does connect to phone, but I usually use it for media, and regardless, if I've set the device to use phone and media, it should connect them automatically at the same time always.

I keep trying to do this on #2 and keep getting the following: "Check for update is not available at this time. Try again later." This happened on #2 before, but powering off reset it. This time I have tried powering off and on several times, but still cannot get the System update to work. The settings (wifi, etc.) are the same on #1 and #2. Any ideas to get the System update to work?
View 5 Replies View RelatedI'm trying to connect to my shared folders on a Windows XP machine through the My Files app, but it keeps saying the login is incorrect. The shared folders are the typical XP Shared Documents in My Computer, and I can access them through EStrongs File Explorer easily, and the PC has a username and password so that's not the problem. It doesn't matter what I type in for that anyways.Shouldn't this work out of the box? It seems like I have to jump through some unspecified hoops here, and there's no clue what I'm supposed to do. It looks like a useless feature at this point.

My Droid sees the network SSID and treats it as a WEP secured network, so it only provides me the ability to enter the WEP password and not the whole range of WPA2 credentials. I have tried pulling up all advanced options I can reach from the WiFi screens without finding a way to change this. I have ICS on the phone.

View 6 Replies View RelatedI purchased the Moto Elite Sliver because my Plantronics Pro HD would drop its bluetooth every single time a call was answered or placed. I did a little research and found it may be related to a conflict with the 2.0 headset and 4.0 phone. Moto Sliver is BT 3.0 and was working great until this week. Now every single time a call is disconnected, the headset disconnects and reconnects. Reboots galore, problem still exists. Uninstall/reinstall Motospeak, problem still exists. Sometimes the bluetooth will not connect at all (reboot required). The Droid RAZR Maxx and the Elite Sliver are supposed to be state of the art MOTOROLA, I make a living with my phone and headset.

It's as if the WiFi is going to sleep when I power the screen off, but it doesn't wake up again. Turning WiFi off and on makes it reconnect.It seems to happen mostly when I'm at home, where I also use the Motorola flip stand with "ESP" smart charger, and a NetGear dual-band wireless router/access point.

View 3 Replies View RelatedThe Verizon Sales assistant assured me that I'd be able to Sync my Outlook with my Droid Razr as easily as I synced it with my old Blackberry Tour. Now, after several days' worth of set-up, google searches, forum searches and FAQ's, I'm come to the conclusion that Motorola did NOT build this function into the Droid Razr, and I have to pay a hefty fee for a decent 3rd-party app to do what my Blackberry did for free. View 1 Replies View RelatedI frequently hit adjacent keys while texting on my old Droid X. A larger screen and of course 4G and a faster processor were appealing as well. As the Razr HD models sport screens almost as large as the S3 I ran to see them on their first day out of the gates. What a disappointment! Holding my old Droid X up against them I saw that the usable screen sizes were identical. Namely 4.3" unless playing videos in which case the video filled up the Razr HD's 4.7" screen. I couldn't find anything else that would fill up the screen. Perhaps, photos might. But internet browsing, texting and whatever else I tried occupied a 4.3" inset within the 4.7" screen. So why have a 4.7" screen at all? The Galaxy S3 on the other hand fills up the entire 4.8" screen with not only video but everything else, including texting, messaging, web browsing, and everything else I tried. So what gives? Why did you even create a 4.7" screen if you aren't going to utilize it to its full potential?

View 5 Replies View RelatedOn Oct 20, we switched from AT&T to Verizon Wireless after being with AT&T for over 10 years. We had iPhones and had to get new phones when we switched. The Verizon salesperson convinced me and my adult daughter to get the RAZR HD that had just come out and he said it was better than the iPhone. My husband stayed with an iPhone because he is a commercial pilot and needed to use aviation apps that were not available on a DROID phone. Initially we were very impressed with the RAZR HD until my daughter had a problem with hers after just 20 days of use. She is an EMT and was on duty sitting in her ambulance. She has to have a phone on her while working. She used her phone several times and had it in her front pocket. She took the phone out of her pocket to call us and the screen was black and not functioning—a few minutes before it was working fine. She noticed some spider cracks in the LCD at the edge of the screen. She took the phone back to the store where it was purchased and the Verizon salesperson accused her of abusing/dropping it and said she would have to file an insurance claim which would cost $99. I was shocked. Our iPhones had heavy mobile use and were even dropped several times, including on cement, but never failed. I told our daughter we had no intention of filing an insurance claim for a defective product that should be covered under warranty. For all we know, it had damage before we even bought it from Verizon. But when she contacted Motorola, they said a screen failure due to a cracked screen was not covered but she could send it in to be evaluated. When we read the warranty, it does not say this. It says it doesn't cover damage caused by accidents, abuse, misuse, including improper usage or operation, abuse or neglect, or impact damage, such as dropping the phone. The phone had not been dropped, abused, or misused. There is not a scratch or any physical damage on the phone and the glass. The phone failed under normal use. The LCD screen under the glass fractured. Normal use should not cause this unless there was a manufacturer's defect in the phone. I.contacted my dad who works with digital and analog wireless technologies/hardware, and he told us to file a warranty claim. He said the phone has an accelerometer in it that detects G-force and impact and Motorola should provide us the data that shows the phone was impacted outside the tolerance thresholds for normal use. Well clearly Motorola and Verizon are just scamming customers and ripping them off. How convenient for Motorola to automatically tell a client all screen failures are due to customer damage. We should have stuck with iPhones and the AppleCare. Apple stands behind the quality of their products and would have never questioned replacing a phone for a defective LCD, i.e., no broken glass, just screen failure. You get a replacement on the spot. Oh but not Motorola—mail it in and then you are without a phone for how long??? We are going on 24 days now. Motorola got the phone and sent a picture of the phone screen (included) and said it was physically damaged—said it would cost $99 to fix—interesting how that is the same amount as the Verizon insurance deductible. Really--they are insulting my intelligence... I called them up and told them to provide me the accelerometer data—I wanted proof the phone was damaged by us and not defective. They still have the phone and have not responded to my request for over a week now. I told customer service that Motorola should be ready for a fight—we will file a report with the FTC and the BBB if they don't repair or replace the phone at no cost. I am very angry about this poor customer service. If we dropped the phone and cracked it up, well that is what insurance is for and that is why we bought the insurance. I would not expect Motorola to fix a phone for free if we broke it, but this is not the case and it is just outrageous. I am worried the same thing will soon happen to my RAZR HD which has overheated while it was charging. The phone is so thin that any expansion in the case is going to put pressure on the LCD. I am wondering how we are going to make it through a 2-year contract with Verizon when the Motorola phone can't even handle normal mobile use. I used my AT&T iPhone 3Gs for over 3 years before switching to Verizon and the RAZR HD and the iPhone still works well as a Smart device for email, photos and music. Clearly Apple has a superior product and also knows how to take care of customers. We called Motorola customer service again today since we aren't seeing any information online regarding the current status of our phone, and they couldn't even tell us what the status is. They have had the phone for over 2 weeks. If Motorola doesn't do what is right, they will lose us as customers. This is so frustrating.

I kinda like previous UI. I am guessing it is Motoblur. Is there any way to get that back.

Did that and it says: "The phone radio is unable to connect to the network. Make sure the radio is on, or move into a better cover area". Same story when I put my UK (the orginal) SIM card in. Tried to connect to wifi, that won;t work either.
View 8 Replies View RelatedI believe, perhaps incorrectly, especially with unlimited data going away on launch day for this phone, that this is a ploy to force users into higher data usage by forcing them to stream the same content over verizons network. I would love to be proven wrong on this point, and see some official radio support from moto, but this is the only thing that makes sense to me. mu $.02.
