I just bought a Droid Razr Maxx to replace my Droid Bionic yesterday. I purchased it on Craigslist, and just now realized the GPS isn't working. If I use any of the GPS apps it finds 0 satellites in view no matter how long it stays out. I'm really hoping I didn't get screwed on this craigslist deal, but my stomach is sinking right now. So far I have.
View 1 RepliesMy Razr got upgraded to ICS this morning. Now I have no ringer. Yes silent mode is off and volume is turned all the way up. If I go to 'system setting', 'sound' and try to change the 'phone ringtone' or 'default notification', the get the message "Activity Android System is not responding". I was able to turn on "Vibrate and ring", so at least I'm getting vibation, but no ringtone.

View 8 Replies View RelatedFirst Maxx had the display screen timeout set to 2 minutes. Whether plugged in to charger or not, after two minutes the screen went BLANK (locked), and stayed such until I unlock it.Due to issues with it automatically redialing the last number (did my voice mail 51 times before I powered it off), got a replacement.This one after the 2 minutes, the screen would DIM, but would not go BLANK, but only when plugged in to the charger. Off the charger, 2 minutes, screen goes blank.Verizon has been no help on this. This phone kept losing the data connection, so they have sent me a 3rd... and it does the same with regards to the screen going blank.

View 14 Replies View RelatedEvery time I connect my phone to the original USB cable the Motocast USB program starts running and then it says please wait while Motocast USB loads your content, and finally the MML has stopped working window pops up with the only option to close the program. I have uninstalled the program and re-installed a new version of it, but that doesn't seem to work. I am using Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit. I have downloaded a patch that I replaced, even though when I tried to replace it the computer told me I required administrator authorization. However when I proceeded with this action it seems to have replaced the old one with the new one.I have no idea what to do, nor know where to find the problem in writing to post somewhere. My computer knowledge is very limited.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI just got my Droid Razr Maxx HD and everything is great except I can't seem to get the Picasa functionality working. In the Gallery app when I hit the share button and hit Picasa it just says failed to retrieve account information. It also does not show me any of my Picasa galleries in the Gallery app like all of my previous phones(including the Droid Razr Maxx) did.
I also do not see a way to log into my Picasa account in the Accounts & Sync area of the phone settings. My Picasa and my Google account are the same by the way.
Maybe Im doing something wrong...connected two different sets of earbuds to the RAZR and the sound continues to come out of the external speaker.Used a set of Skull Candy buds and Senheisers same result with each. Didnt see any setting that was disabled....did I get a broken phone?No headphone icon shows when the ear buds are plugged in either

Tried rebooting phone and deleting and adding back account. In the settings did the verify account and it says sucessful. Works for email if I use the "Email Accounts" option and not "Corporate Sync" option but I need my contacts and calander also to work.
View 6 Replies View RelatedAll of a sudden this morning my three-week old Razr MAXX stopped connecting to my local wifi network (Verizon FIOS router B + G).
It shows the network SSID and signal strength, and I've entered and saved the WEP password, but it just won't connect. I have powered off the phone, and the router, and all my other devices are working, but the Razr MAXX just won't connect.
I have changed nothing since last night when it was working fine,
In an effort to "squeeze" as much life out of my battery as possible I decided to take a Moto Rep's video/recommendation and use the stock Task Manager to turn off selected apps 2 minutes after screen off. This strategy worked pretty good on my Pro, but it doesn't do so well on the Razr. After monitoring the stock Task Manager now for a week, it appears that it does not turn off selected apps after 2 minutes of screen off. We all realize the battery demand on the Razr and there is a lot of experimentation going on (that is a good thing) to develop settings (Smart Actions etc) that prolong time between charges. It would be nice if we could have an effective Task Manager (stock and Moto approved) that would be another "tool in the tool box".
View 10 Replies View RelatedToday I discovered my speakerphone was not working. On phone calls, the speakerphone light comes on but the audio only comes from the earpiece. Every few calls, the speakerphone starts working midway through the call. On Skype video calls, the same thing. The audio comes only from the earpiece. I have removed and reinstalled Skype. No change. The ringer works as do all the notifications so the speaker is working. I have tried disabling bluethooth to make sure it was not interfering. No change.

however, compass mode in google maps no longer works for me.
My issue is this, I cannot "fast forward" a video during playback. I can select a "fast forward" spot in the video using the slider or control panel but as soon as I let go it reverts back to where it was before (usually the beginning). The really weird part is when I download a player app it initially works, it did this trying RockPlayer, GeekVideo, BSPlayer and others, but as soon as I exit and re-start the apps they revert back to this behavior. My videos are 2.5 hours long and I need the ability to start, and re-start them at differnt points.
I tried MoboPlayer and it behaved the same. I noticed that the file type that does not work is the .WMV, the .MP4's work as they should.
Is this an issue with 2.3.6 that would be fixed if I go back to 2.3.5? I did not see any posts on the internet about this specific issue so I am confused. I received my RAZR MAXX a few days ago. I did the OTA update to 2.3.6 before checking this issue on 2.3.5.I am not rooted or modified in any way.I do not have this problem with the same applications with .WMV files on my old DX running GB 2.3.3 or my tablet running HC 3.2.1
I have a new RAZR M and the notification light doesn't seem to work. It doesn't light when new email is received or when I plug it in to charge.

View 10 Replies View RelatedI have a 32gb class 4 ScanDisk MicroSD card for my Droid Razr M. Everything was fine until sometime yesterday (I think).I noticed this morning that my morning wake-up alarm was not what I had set it to, but was a generic sound. I checked the settings and all my "custom" ringtones were missing. I then went to the files app & saw that the SD card read "0.00 GB available." Clicked on it and it says "SD card not found. Please check that SD card is properly inserted and mounted." Funny, seeing as I haven't removed the card since I got the phone & it was working just fine up to this point. I've tried using a card reader to plug into my desktop & the computer doesn't even recognize that there is a card in the reader. I'd hate to do it but it looks like I might need to reformat the card thereby losing all of my pictures & music. The problem is that neither my phone nor my computer see the card.

Most of the time I can still click on the icon and it will take me to the app and I can delete the shortcut and re-add it, but sometimes I get a message saying that the app does not exist and I have to reinstall it
View 9 Replies View RelatedAfter my Razr downloaded and installed the 2.3.6 update, my sd card quit working or should I say isn't recognized. Frustrating as I had EVERYTHING stored on my sd card. I called Verizon an the tech told me, "your sd card just went bad, they do that from time to time". We all know how long the Razr has been out, and that seems like such a short lifespan for a sd card, plus it is strange that it quit after the update.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI returned my first RAZR because the crackle and buzzing on speaker phone / playing videos was too much. On this phone it's less pronounced but still there. Anyway the sleep timer on thus new phone does not work. I did a factory reset and nothing. Non related but I noticed that my 4G speed on this new phone is way slower. Maybe that's a Verizon issue.
I hope I can get this sleep timer issue solved.
I'm using a RAZR MAXX HD with the Motorola vehicle dock. I've enabled the Smart Actions for turning on Vehicle Mode when I drop it in the dock, and I like this for the most part. When I get a text message, a popup notifies me that I've received one, and prompts me to "Say listen to hear this message." However, I've only been able to get the damn thing to recognize me saying "listen" once, out of several dozen times this has happened. I don't have an accent (I'm from California) and have a fairly loud voice. Any tricks to getting this to work? I've tried louder, quieter, faster, slower, weird pronunciations, cursing at it... no luck!
I'm pretty certain it's actually picking up me saying "listen" because I see a little popup bubble on the screen saying something like "Waiting for speech" then after I speak it will show "listen listen listen".
For what it's worth, voice input seems to work just fine in any native Google app (search, navigation). It's just the (Moto?) Vehicle Mode ones that hardly ever work.
I'm trying to disable data for an application via the "restrict background data" option inside the data useage settings. However, even after selecting that, the app is still able to communicate over the wireless network.
Is this something that the app has to honor, vs it being forcibly put into place?
The app is "Slacker Radio" I want it to use content I cached instead of using data to pull down songs.
my email and calendar are working fine. My contacts, however, are not sync'ing. I've tried unchecking/rechecking the sync contacts option under accounts and get the same results.
We are using exchange online. I do have over 1000 contacts, could the number of contacts I have be the issue?
I am not sure if Moto is aware of the bug introduced in .173. Ever since the OTA a few months back the orientation/rotation sensor randomly stops working. I haven't been able to track it down to any particular app, but instead have a feeling that it's caused by any app that forces a horizontal orientation. I don't want to limit it to just that though, but basically after this bug is triggered, tilting the phone manually into horizontal orientation doesn't rotate the screen and any games/apps that use the tilt sensor stop responding to it completely. I launched Elixir tools while this issue was occurring and in the Sensor section of the app the two sensors that deal with orientation, the orientation and the rotation vector sensors are jumping all over the place. A reboot fixes this for a few days or possibly until i launch an app that triggers this bug and then it's the same thing all over again.
