I don't understand why Motorola decided to not include a camera button on the Droid 4 (or 3 for that matter). I use the camera button on my Droid whenever I want to take a picture, as it's a quick and easy way to do it. The Droid 4 requires me to go to the home screen, then to the app drawer if I don't have the shortcut.

I can only take a picture of a static (not moving) object with my Droid as it takes about 3 secs from pressing the screen button to actually taking the picture. If not, any way to minimize the effect? Is it much better (faster) with the new phones- like the Droid 3? I have played around with other phones that allowed fast and smooth pictures.
View 15 Replies View RelatedDoes Motorola intentionally make their new products inferior at release?I've been using a Droid and a Droid 2 for about 18 months.I shoot a lot of pictures outdoors, some macro, lots of nature and concerts.I also shoot indoors under challenging conditions (concert lighting.) They have both prtovided a passable point-and-shoot camera.The Droid 3 camera is dissapointing in that several important features have vanished:
-There is auto white balance, only a manual and difficult-to-use control.
-The user can no longer set ISO
-The user can no longer set EV
-Focus is iffy under a variety of conditions
-Photos have a bluish cast under most conditions, with and without flash
So instead of getting pretty good shots with a convenient camera, I'm getting washed-out, bluish garbage.(Issues with the video vs. Droid 2 also, in a separate post.)I want to know if Motorola intends to make the experience of this camera catch up with the spec soon, or if i should return my phone while I can still get something else from Verizon.
I used my Droid Turbo a month ago to shoot some outdoor pictures and the camera worked great. Today, however I attempted to use the camera and the app froze and the phone rebooted. I uninstalled the built-in camera updates and reinstalled them and the result was the same - load the app and the phone reboots. I tried installing another camera app and the result was the same as the built-in camera app.

View 4 Replies View RelatedThe Apps button (lower right button) on the home screen is different than on the DX. On the DX it always (almost) launched the "All Apps" group. On the Bionic it launches the most recently viewed group. Since I have set up groups on my home screen this renders the Apps button useless since it is always showing me the last viewed group. Now I have to dedicate a home screen icon to a real "All Apps" group. The old DX functionality was much better.

View 4 Replies View Relatedhave had my iphone for almost 1 and a half years, and about 8 months ago my home button started wrecking; i would press it and it would either not open the iphone (take it off sleep mode to show lock screen) or the button would get stuck in and would start the voice control.. then about one week ago my vibrate button wasnt vibrating, even when i got a call or message or alarm... around one year ago, my camera started wrecking; like i would go into it and it would be blurry, and over the past year it has been getting worse and worse, and now i cant use my back camera at all.

Is there any way to move the camera button from the default top right button?When setting keyboard lock on/off (top-left then top-right) I press this button by mistake and has to exit camera-mode, which involves some waiting time.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI've had my Bionic about a week. The 4 soft buttons along the bottom of the screen (is there a common term for these?) are not always lit up. They all light up or they all don't, it's not just one of them. They're lit when I wake up the display, they'll go off after a while, sometimes just stay off briefly, other times stay off for a while. Is there any protocol for when the lights should be on or off? Is this a defect I should be concerned about?

View 1 Replies View RelatedFrom day one the D3, i received on july 8th after placing a phone order, seemed to have really dim button backlight. Well after a couple weeks i went into a VZW store to purchase an extended battery and noticed that the D3 they have out on display has very bright buttons. I've been very busy at work so i finally got around to seeking some tech support and thy are sending me a CLNR to replace mine. I wished i had sought out tech support a couple weeks ago so i would be getting a new phone and not one someone else returned.

Having major trouble as of yesterday afternoon. Seems my touch Screen is on the frits. I noticed my back button didn't work all of a sudden, but the search and home and menu buttons all still work. and i could barely unlock my phone because a strip up from the back button wasn't working. I have done all i know to do at this point, pulled the battery twice, As bad as i hated to, i did a factory reset, which did increase the speed but i lost all of my customizations, and apps. I had 122 market apps and salvaged about 20 - 40 from the market, only 4 was paid. Anyways the problem still existed. IT came back for a few minutes after about an hour after the factory restore, and started working, then went away again. and didn't work again until i started typing this thread. I know it won't last though....
I'm out of warranty and i got shot down by calling verizon for a replacement, thought i might run by a store later to see what i can do. I want to hold out on an upgrade until next year when hopefully the droid 4 will have a keyboard and 3g . I hate to upgrade to a 3g phone this year when 4g is in my area now.
I'm having a strange issue which I have not found on any forums.Up until yesterday I had a Droid X, which was working fine until the speaker had an issue. So, I did a factory reset. First one ever since going to Gingerbread. Since then, if I use the hard button to search for contacts the results always send me to the same contact.For example: Lets say I have contacts John Smith, Larry Jones, and Susan Doe.Search for Doe, shows me Susan Doe's name, click on her name...and John Smith opens up.Search for Jones, shows me Larry Jones' name, click on his name...and John Smith opens up.No pattern as to why it's John Smith. Not first in the contact list or anything. And, if I delete John Smith, then another contact becomes the 'go-to' contact. Again, no pattern as to why.
So, why is this in the Droid X2 forum? Because I didn't worry too much about this issue since I was getting a new phone, a Droid X2. Got the new phone, set it up...and the same issue is in this one. I did not import any contacts directly from the one phone to the other using VZW or Gmail. All contacts are loaded via DejaOffice/Companionlink. Very frustrating, since the hard button was how I would bring up my contacts.
When the Droid X is in low power mode (screen black after timeout), the phone won't respond to the voice command button on my Motorola Bluetooth headset.It usually says "Please wait. Say voice command".If I touch the power or home button, the screen comes back on and the phone immediately sends the voice prompt.I'm running Gingerbread and using a Motorola bluetooth earphone.

It seems now that after updating to System Version 3.8.7, the End Call button will sometimes have no effect. I know it registers being pressed, since it turns red, but it doesn't end the call.

If you put your finger on the button, you can wiggle it (move it) up or down or side to side.It is not in any danger of breaking off or falling off as I looked at a pic of a droid dissembled and it shows that the button has little tabs on each end like the home button of an iPhone. But it is still very annoying. Is this normal on the Moto Milestone/Droid? or a sign of a future problem. The button works as it should but feels loose.
2. SMS: I bought the Telus version of the Milestone and I have configured it for AT&T and can browse on the internet with 3G, Edge and wifi but I cannot get or send text messages. I get no error but nobody gets them or when friends send me texts I don't get them ether.Is there some sort of configuration I need to do like put AT&T SMS number into it? I am scratching my head on this
Has anyone tried this app? It uses the proximity sensor to turn the screen on. From what I have read, the "lite" version was designed for one certain phone but the pro version ($1.28) is supposed to work on all phones. There are not a lot of reviews as it is a relatively new app but almost all are positive. It is in the Google Play Store under Smart Screen On Pro. Curious to know if it actually works as they say it does. I really dislike using the power button to turn the screen on. I guess I was so used to the home button on the DX turning it on. if anyone has tried it, would like to hear yeas or nays on how it works.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI noticed I am not able to adjust the volume on a phone call while I am holding the phone to my ear. When I pull the phone away from my head and press the volume button down the phone hangs up.
1- Can't adjust volume on call while phone is being held to ear
2- Volume down button press causes phone to end call
You know how pushing the power button silences the ringer when someone calls and you don't even have to pull your phone out. It would be nice if you could do that with the notifications also, like text and email etc. Cause sometimes I can't just get my phone out cause I'm doing something or have my hands full and so on. It should be like that with all of the sound where you can just hit the power button to silence the ringer on everything.

With Lollipop, contacts that have multiple phone numbers now only display one phone number and there is a "see all" button that I need to push to see the additional phone numbers. I have tried to find a setting that would make it so all of the information was displayed but can't find one. Other than downloading a new contacts app...

An error message popped up saying The application Home-screen (process com.Motorola.home) has stopped unexpectedly. try again. and then the Homescreen reboots and everything works except in the All Apps.
View 5 Replies View RelatedDoes anyone else notice a delay in volume adjustment when you try to raise or lower the volume via the side buttons while playing music? my razr seems to hate doing so, the media volume bar will appear and disappear several times before the volume is raised all the way. my droid 2 took only about a second of holding the up button, holding the up button on my razr doesnt move the volume more than one or two clicks.
