Motorola Droid 4 :: How To Get Headset Button To Control Music App In GB
Mar 25, 2012
In Froyo on the Droid 1, the headset's control button would play or pause the music app. In gingerbread on the Droid 4, it goes to the completely useless "voice commands" app. I can't uninstall the app, and there are no settings to disable it. How do I get the headset control button to control the music app again?
Does the EVO have the Bluetooth Profile that allows you to control music tracks from your headset? I do not remember what the profile is called specifically.
I used have a music control even when the phone was locked. I can at least go to the next song, pause or go to the previous song. Now I don't have that option when the screen is locked.
i have recently purchased it two months back.I tried finding the compatibale headset to atrix but didnt know which one to buy..I am looking for wired headset. Is there any motorola atrix headset or any other motorola headset with 3.5mm is fine? And how to control the headset button...default it gives voice commands...IS there any option in 2.3 so that we can change the headset control. Like when i press the call answer button with music player on, it would change the song....pause play...kind of controls...
Does anyone else notice a delay in volume adjustment when you try to raise or lower the volume via the side buttons while playing music? my razr seems to hate doing so, the media volume bar will appear and disappear several times before the volume is raised all the way. my droid 2 took only about a second of holding the up button, holding the up button on my razr doesnt move the volume more than one or two clicks.
When I use my bluetooth headset and press the main button it brings up Motorola's voice commands. I would prefer Google's Voice Controls as the default choice when using the bluetooth headset
I found the SF200 manual and it points to the multi-function button (or MFB) but it does not say what it can do or how to change what it does. I have also searched the knowledge base and the forum. Can someone please point me to any information on how I might change what this button controls? It appears to only control one feature - it is currently set to pause/play and I would like to control forwarding to the next song instead.
The music "button" in the car dock does not update the song playing sometimes. I have to touch it to make it update. Then the song titles are in white not green. Purely cosmetic from what I can tell.
My buttons seemed to have stopped working properly. In order to adjust the volume using the side button, I have to shut down the phone and then restart it. It will work for a while and then stops working and I have to go thru the process again. The home button just works whenever it wants. It doesn't fix the problem when I restart the phone. I can slide my finger in a circle around the button and it still doesn't work.
I want to disable the voice commands when the off hook button on my headset is pressed.I use an audio book player and pressing the headset button is supposed to pause / play the book. Instead the voice command stuff comes on. How can I turn it off?
On my iPod I use regular in ear headphones with a 3.5 mm jack, but also have a dongle type thing in line with them so I can control the volume, advance songs, that kind of thing. Is there something for the Motorola phone like that? I have been looking all over. I use my phone while running and want to skip songs sometimes. I tried a few Bluetooth headsets and they allow this function, but none are comfortable or sound all that great.
When using the Google Music Beta, is there a more elegant solution for adjusting volume other than fumbling with the up/down volume buttons on the side? Most music players appear to have some sort of volume slider on the screen. but other than play/pause/skip virtual buttons, I see no inherent volume control on the player.
I don't want to prevent xoom from going black after inactivity but I use it at my office to play music and I don't like having to unlock it each time I want to skip a song or change volume or pause it. How you deal with this screen lock and if there a music player better to deal with the lock on the xoom (I'm using the default android 3.1 player). Also not all my mp3 have good identifier so to be able to find them to play, I would like to have a folder browser list to play folders. What players you recommend for this scenario?
I have a new nokia BH 503. I connected it onmy nokia C3. It was paired successfully andcan play music. But my problem is I can't control the player using the headset's controls, only the volume. But when Iconnect it on another phone, the controlsworks just fine.
I am sure there is no way to do this (not that I could find while googling without rooting, and I won't do that), but is there a way to control apps on your phone from a PC?
I have seen something with rooting, and I seen something about downloading an SDK and some java stuff, but that doesn't seem secure and a lot of work for something that should be simple if possible.
I don't want to have the phone plugged into a computer, but if I have to, I will. I do not own any docks or etc, otherwise this would be really simple I know.
First, I tried search. Its worthless and even the mesage that is supposed to tell you how to use it is broken.Recently I have had trouble with the slide out keyboard. It is putting 2 or 3 characters in the message before I can lift my finger. Is this a hardware failure or is there a way to control the speed of this repeat like on a PC?This is a real PITA as I hate the on screen touch keyboard.
Is there such a thing available for current Asha and Lumia models? Just like the Apple - In-Ear Headphones with Remote and Mic for iPod and iPhone. I know, I know, the Nokias are wired differently so the Iphone Headset will not work(?). But I still need the fast forward and rewind buttons to conveniently listen to audio books.
I listen to audiobooks from Audible on my phone and use my headset to play/pause the the books. After upgrading from GB to ICS the headset control stopped working for the Audible app, but it works for all other applications.I called Audible support and they set that I had to talk to Samsung to get this fixed.
Coming from a Razr Maxx that had issues, I am accustomed to checking my Running Apps list following a start-up/power cycle and force stopping the ones that are not essential to the phone functioning properly. And it seems old habits die hard as I caught myself doing just this on my Turbo and, what do you know.. some of the same apps are running immediately after start-up, despite the fact that I haven't opened them. A few of the culprits are Password Keeper and YouTube. I do use/open these apps on occasion (1-2 times per month) but I certainly do not like them running automatically for no reason. Nothing I do on the phone on a daily basis requires them to be open. It's a PITA to have to go in and manually tell them to shut the heck up! (Yes, I have gone into the settings on each of these apps but there is no box to uncheck to not have the app run on start-up.) So, it would be ever so nice to be able to have a say on what runs and what doesn't
Whenever I try to use voice input for navigation I receive the message "unfortunatelky maps has stopped. This only started after the Jelly Bean update. I have done an FDR and cache wipe. I have disabled and reenabled maps. Nothing helps. After several days with Jelly Bean I am becoming more and more convinced that ICS was a better OS. I am tired of every time we get an update that something breaks or is removed and yet more and more bloat is forced upon us.
I have very few apps downloaded to my phone, but I am continually running into problems concerning a lack of available space. When I look at the amount of space each application is taking up, none of the apps is using more than about 7 MB except for email, which is using a whopping 191 MB. I only have 11 emails in my inbox.
When my Bionic connects to my car's audio system, it utilizes both the Phone and Media profiles (as found on the "Connect to..." screen). As such, I can use the phone handsfree (which is great, of course) and the phone can stream music to my car's audio system (which is OK, but not something I really use).Problem is, if I use Google Maps for driving directions or Trapster, I cannot hear any of the phone's output unless I leave my audio system on bluetooth. That means I cannot listen to the radio/CD, etc.The "Connect to..."screen shows checkboxes for the two active profiles. Yet, when I deselect the Media profile, it shows as deselected for a second or so and then automatically reselects itself. So, it appears that there is no way to force the phone to stick only to the Phone profile and ignore the fact that the car supports other profiles.
I have had this problem for as long as I have owned the phone (about a year). Sometimes ( not always or consistently) when I am done listening to radio I lose my volume controls. I exit the app and my volume controls on the side of the phone no longer work for some reason? I have tried to end the FM radio tasks with no success. The only way I have found to get my volume controls back is to power down the phone and reboot it. The phone has been factory reset, and it has been replaced and I still have the same issue.
just got my motoactv a couple weeks ago and wear it daily and use it in the gym while working out. I actually like the headphones but now im having a problem with the headset not changing tracks while pressing the button. Do i have to initiate a return for the whole motoactv or what? I want to be able to use the headphones as designed, its one of the most useful features.
I tried the Sanity donate app and it did not accomplish what I want. About 1.5 ago I have a Pantech Duo running Windows Mobile 6 I think. Anyways it was able to announce the callers name and read my text to me aloud through the headset, not through the speakerphone. Is this even possible to do with android? This is part of the reason I dont hardly use my Moto Headset any more. Yes I could be hands free while driving but I usually have one hand on the wheel and one on my gear shifter(its an automatic with a console mounted shifter- 2003 Trailblazer to be exact) so whats the point really unless its a long covo which is unusual for me. Is this only possible with say a headset that supports A2DP? Its an H680 headset(not the frost version)
the option to have the side buttons control screen rotation is Massively Useful. It would be so much easier to do that as a shortcut, rather than having to go to settings etc every time to turn it on and then back again to turn rotation off.requently I want the screen to rotate for just a couple of images, and then flip it back to static. We can make this happen
