Motorola Droid 3 :: Receive Webmail Setup?
Oct 21, 2011
I've just acquired a Droid 3 after using a Blackberry for many years. My son (20) swears I'll love it. I'm a lawyer and need to access calendar and email on the run.I can't get my email from my website to set up. I keep getting an "invalid server certificate" message. I've been on tech support with Verizon, Inmotion hosting, Amazon Wireless (where I bought the phone) and Motorola but noone seems to be able to answer why this isn't working. I can't believe I'm the first person ever to want the email from their website to go to their phone.

My droid x2 global cannot access my work webmail which is https, however it can access another work https site. My work IT people say its a Motorola droid OS problem. I chatted with Motorola and they could not access the sites either, saying that the phone doesn't support it. They said they would attempt to fix the problem in the future.

After the recent GB update on my Droid X2 I am no longer able to access my outloook webmail url using the browser. Before being forced to take the GB update, I could type in https://webmail.medplus.com. I would get a certificate message and after hitting continue I would get the prompt for user name and password. I've tried other browsers with no luck. I've spent hours on the phone with Verizon support and we've narrowed it down to only phone that have GB software. I had this exact same issue with my Droid X when I got that GB update and moved to the X2 because that wasn't supposed to get GB. I've tried other android phones and those without GB I can access the site without issue.
Is anyone else having trouble accessing an outlook webmail url thru their browser with the GB update? My suspicion is that after the update google isn't playing well with microsoft as I've noticed some issues with hotmail post update that didn't exist preupdate.

I'm paying the tethering fee for my phone and would like to know how to setup Bluetooth tethering using the DUN (Dial-Up Networking) profile. I can tether using the PAN (Personal Area Network) profile but I have some devices that only support the DUN profile (no WiFi either) . Are there any official instructions anywhere?

how often some of these blur widgets are refreshing themselves. There doesn't seem to be a setting to set a refresh rate, and no matter if they are on the homescreen or not I notice that they are loading themselves into RAM anyway. For instance, social networking, weather, news, bookmarks widgets, etc are auto-loading into the RAM.So the question is, will it make any difference if I add the blur widgets to the homescreens or not? Would there be a performance/battery/ram difference if they were not on the homscreens? Could I get better battery life with or without the widgets, or does it make any difference so I might as well add them to the homescreens?I pretty much have OCD when it comes to trying to squeaze every last bit of performance out of my devices.

I've had my new Droid 4 since June 6. I was able to set up my yahoo email and gmail accounts. However, Cox is my primary...day-to-day...email and I can't get the account to set up correctly. I've followed the manual set up instructions posted ny Motorola and I still get a Server Error message.

I am a new owner of a Motorola Droid Maxx. I am wondering which service for email to use, POP or IMAP. It is set up now as an IMAP but I seem to get emails 30min or more after I receive them on my laptop wich has windows live on it set as POP3. My old droid incredible was set up as POP I also use charter email wich always seems to give people issues..I am wondering wich to use to get emails both on my phone and laptop the best. I also use Exchange sync for work and that works flawlessly. The rest of the phone is great.

I used the email app to setup my AOL email. I have noticed that when I delete email on my computer (AOL account) that those deletions are not appearing on my Razr. I used an OG Droid before the Razr and never had this issue- they are deleted on the Droid when the account syncs.

Is there a way to force manual corporate sync setup? Our corporate email settings (for phones) have just changed and they recommended (requested) I delete the prior corporate sync and re-input all settings.Foolishly, I followed this advice...Now, repeated (dozens!) auto-discover attempts have failed and no manual input option is being offered.

I just upgraded to Gingerbread and can't figure out how to set up Corporate Sync. In Froyo there was a place to enter the mail server URL but that doesn't exist in Gingerbread. Since we have multiple mail servers, I think that entry is required. I've tried every combination of domain, username and password I can think might work but I always get an "invalid login" error.

My company has just converted to Gmail on Gapps. When I log into the account from the browser on the phone I put in name@companyname.com and leave the password blank. When I click on sign in it takes me to a page where I can enter my company domain user name and password and enter a pin number. When I try to set up a gmail account on the phone so that I can use the builtin email and calendar apps the account setup will not let me continue without entering a password.

I just registered my brand new DROID4, and I'm excited to take part of the Motorola Feedback Network. I did register, opt-in, and I didn't receive any email confirmation like I had previously with my DROID3.Also, I noticed on my Profile, that it had added an extra '6' to my serial number, which I thought was odd, so I modded my profile to have the correct serial number (HEX). Not sure if that's a bug or if anyone else has noticed that. I had double checked my input *TWICE* before submitting it, so it wasn't a typo.
With ICS for the D4 getting closer, I wanted to take part in the soak test, but I'm not sure how I can verify that my phone has properly been registered so I can take part in it. With the (2) "leaks" floating around the net, I figured Moto must be getting close to releasing the soak test,I have a Car Dock, and the 'Universal' HD Dock. I also use the Motorola Car Finder (which is a bit buggy, but incredibly useful app) I can provide good feedback, and I look forward to ICS. I was actually running it on my D3 for a while, and can say that ICS is awesome

I've been using the phone for about two weeks now. In this time I've gotten a few text messages to the affect of, "I just called, why didn't you answer?" or when I call someone, they comment on how long it took for me to return their call. Piecing the feedback together, it seems that the phone doesn't always receive the call and ring. The person who is placing the call hears a dial tone, etc... and has no indication the call isn't ringing on my end. One time this occured, a voice mail was left and I received the voice mail right away. However, if no voicemail is left, I get no indication a call should have been received (no missed calls). The frequency of occurance is fairly hit and miss, besides, you can't prove someone didn't just call you .
I've experienced this on some other verizon phones of multiple brands (before smart phone times), and tend to think it has something to do with the software interactions between the carrier and platform, or perhaps the quality of antenna and how the software handles marginal signal. In the past, the only remedy I found was to change phones, but software pushes weren't as prevalent in those times.... Note, I've been a verizon customer since the dawn of time, so the carrier is a constant variable here. This phone was an upgrade from the Motorola Droid 1, and I didn't experience this problem (in the same locations) with this phone. For what it's worth, around town and at home I have a full 5 bars of signal strength, though I understand the bars are just a function of software.
I have also experienced some data drop out issues on 3G (patiently waiting for verizon to flip the LTE switch on) when heavily managing the wi-fi radio via the smart actions. There seem to be a few other complaints on the forums of similiar behavior. Changing the smart actions to have the wifi radio enabled most of the time seems to have helped with this issue, so I don't beleive it is related, but you never know..

My droid X is still in version 4.5.605.MB810. When I try to do much of anything with the phone, the notification bar will disappear and the green light at the top starts blinking. After this happens, I cannot receive any test messages or phone calls. the only way that I can get the phone to work correctly again is to cut it off and reboot it. Yesterday it showed the update for the new software but wouldn't download it.

I keep receiving multip copies of texts. For example let's say a friend texts me. I receive that same text multiple times throughout the day, even thought I deleted it. Another example, let's say that you have your Google Calendar sending you text reminders for events/meetings, etc. Even thought I deleted the first notice I still receive that exact same notice for something that happened two to five hours ago.

As soon as I answer a phone call, the display on my Droid 3 goes black. It does not wait until I put the phone to my face as the user guide says. It does not come back on until I press the power button briefly. Same with sending a call.

My Droid 4 has suddenly become very unreliable with regards to the GPS. All of a sudden, it takes several minutes (if at all) to receive sat signals, and if it does connect it gives wildly incorrect information. I have not installed any new software and I even tried Safe Mode, no difference.
