I got the orange triangle notification yesterday saying something about having to re-enter my password. I enter it and I'm told it's invalid but I know it isn't. I change the password three or four times and keep getting the same results. However going directly to a Google site the passwords worked every time and yet my phone authentication whatever you want to call it tells me its wrong. Can't access Google play or update any app atm.
I can't seem to find anything in the owners manual about: What it means when the green light (advises messages or missed call) is Orange rather than the normal green?
all the downloaded apps I have show Icons that I would like to move to the various screens of my droid x. I thought I coud hard press and drag and drop from the manage apps but that doesn't work. Is there a way to do this? annumber of icons like abc news fox, drudge on on my screens but there are many that are not.
Okay, so in my house I have a wireless router that I have two laptops, an android tablet, and several unactivated smartphones that I use for developement purposes all connected to. All these devices connect to and stay connected to the wifi without a problem. Some are set for static ips and some are set to dhcp. My Droid 4 is set for static ip and I've tried several different numbers. The wifi connects fine and for the most part stays connected fine. But at least once a day I will pull my phone out of the holster and see both the wifi and 3g icon on at the same time as if they are competing to connect and both failing; neither icon is blue and the apps that require a data connection don't work. I have to toggle wifi off and back on for the 3G icon to go away and the wifi to reassociate and turn blue. This is a minor inconvienence but I just wanted to put this out there to see if any one else is experiencing similar issues and more importantly to see if any one has figured out a way to fix this. The primary issue with this glitch isn't just that the data is disconnected when both icons are on but that it seems to drain the battery a bit quicker. Normally with either wifi or 3g connected with a blue icon the battery seldom drops below 50% in a single day of usage. On some days it doesn't even drop below 70% after a day of use. But when the two icons are in a tug-of-war over who should be connected my battery can go from 100% to 60% real fast. Fortunately, most of the times that this issue has occured the phone has been plugged into the charger. I've included a photo of what I'm talking about. BTW, I don't have 4G in my area which is why I'm have the 3G icon.
Can some please explain the difference between the blue and white 3G/1X icons and signal meter? Mine is always white unless I have background data enabled then it turns to blue. Regardless if it is blue or white I can still make and receive calls, text, email surf the web etc.
After the GB update, anytime that I mount/unmount the SD card, any icons that i have created dissapear from the home pages. This is only for apps that I moved to the SD card. I've tried rebooting, and no change. Any thoughts? BTW, I did a full wipe and reset after the GB installation.
With Froyo, if the card was unmounted, any app moved to the SD card, the shortcut icons were shown as generic with a gear icon. However, once mounted, the the app icon would be restored.
I cant find the setting that locks the icons so that they don't get delete from the screens. I have had the phone for 5 weeks and it seams like very couple of days there are icons that are deleted and I have to re add them to the screens.
Every time I shut down and restart my RM, or add a new app from the store, it empties the program icons I have in the dock bar at the bottom of the screen! The "apps" icon stays, but the others that I place there because they're the ones I use frequently all disappear, and I have to put them back into the dock bar.
My phone has lost most (not all) of the apps icons on one of my profiles. All of the stock apps stayed intact but the majority of the downloaded apps have disappeared. The app is still in the main menu and works fine.
I place very few apps on my home pages. Only the ones I use frequently so it's easy for me to notice when they go missing. I really like my live wallpaper and I like keeping it looking clean. I've noticed that randomly apps go missing. The apps are still on the device, they have to be reloaded onto the respective home page. It's a random event. Not anyone particular app, happened to several, not necessarily the same one over again.
One of the most annoying things about the GB update is that the icons in the status bars are to hard to read.Especially in the car dock I cannot tell is I have a text message or an email or WTH is in the status bar.
After the last update, when ever an app on my sd card gets an update, all of the apps I put on the sd card disappear from the home screen. So, every time I update one, I have to reinstall all of the shortcuts on my home screen. Have already done a couple of factory resets and tried other sd cards.
Something real strange happens when I turn my phone off and on again or if it reboots for any reason.Three (all Android Market apps) of my shortcut icons on the home screen are replaced by a blue generic looking icon. They still work as shortcut though. The way to fix this is to delete them from the home screen and then set up a new shortcut: The app icon shows up as expected.......... until the next time I turn off my Razr. Annoying to say the least.
Well so far I have had one interesting issue.. The signal strength, 3g, wifi and bluetooth will go from Blue to white randomly.. any ideas what could be going on there?usually when it happens it's all of them at once then sometimes it randomizes which ones go white.when it happens I lose connectivity.
None of the contact icons for my corporate contacts sync to my Bionic. All of my contacts in Microsoft Exchange have contact icons associated with them, and on my HTC Thunderbolt the icons synced without an issue. On my Bionic none of the icons are syncing, so all of my corporate contacts are without icons. Why are corporate contact icons not syncing, and how can I get them to sync?
I bought my RAZR on Friday 11/11/11 as soon as my local BB opened and have loved the phone so far, but after rebooting the phone sometimes the icons on my home screen show as blue with little cogwheels in them. Most of the time I can still click on the icon and it will take me to the app and I can delete the shortcut and re-add it, but sometimes I get a message saying that the app does not exist and I have to reinstall it
I was just using the Bionic to check email when bang, everything disapeared. o email screen, no phone icon or other bottom row and now notifications. All I had was 3 or 4 icons per screen and I could look at the screens double tapping the home and getting the big view. But most apps were missing from the home pages though and none would start. I finally realized that I was seeing a zoomed image of the home page scroller screens.I tried everything to get to the apps drawer but couldn't. I wanted to snap a screengrabber.I had to shut it down, restart and phone is back to normal. The image I'm attaching is mocked up from a capture I made with no background. Wish I could have captured it for real.
Does anyone know a way to get your own picture to show up in your text conversations with another person? I've tried adding myself to my contacts and that didn't work. When I click on the icon, all I get is "contact doesn't exist". I used to be able to do this with my old phone.
I have not had this problem before Gingerbread and have just now noticed it after backing up some SD card data to my PC.Turns out that, when I connect the Droid X to the PC and the SD card is unmounted by that process, several icons disappear from my home screen. It appears to be apps that have partially installed themselves to the SD card (I have not manually moved anything to the SD card or installed apps there because I still have several gigabytes of space on the phone itself) and only those apps. Interestingly they appear to only be games (Angry Birds, Need For Speed Shift, The Sims 3...)I ran an experiment on the phone itself and simply unmounted the SD card and, sure enough, the same apps disappeared from the home screen after I replaced them. Then I did it again by connecting the phone to the PC and again they disappeared.
So this only happens when unmounting the SD card for me. I looked through as many postings on this as I could and I do not have any of the apps mentioned that may be causing this problem, I have gigabytes of free space on both the phone and the SD card, RAM is not filled, and nothing but the basic phone apps are running. Rebooting or battery pulling does not bring the icons back. And this only happened on Gingerbread. The same games did not disappear when I connected the phone to the PC on Froyo.
While viewing my home screen my launcher bar at bottom of my droid turbo has my typical messenger icon few days ago for. Unknown reasons I now have another messenger icon on top of my original .. Everything seems to work fine.. And it goes away if I soft reset my phone. But soon as I use messenger the duplicated one shows up? What could it be? I have soft reset.. Deleted any app installed. In last week still happens...
Does anyone know of a way to put the shortcut that takes you directly to the dialer in the bottom four icons? There is the one shortcut that you can put in the bottom four can take you to the dialer (as long as the dialer was the last thing you used) or to your contacts (if that was the last thing you used). The one I would like to be able to put on the bottom is the dialer shortcut that can take you to the dial pad no matter what. I can put that shortcut anywhere but in the bottom four. Does anyone know of a way to put the shortcut to the direct dialer down on the bottom without having to use something like launcher pro or ADW?
I primarily use my notebook to charge my Droid 4 through USB. With the ICS update, I can't choose a "charge only" option anymore. I now have to make sure to safely remove the drives before unplugging the phone. Is there a way to get the "charge only" option back?
My phone had an 80% charge last night and the nightime battery extender mode was on (as it is every night). Five hours later I woke to the flashing green light so I tried to check my messages. The screen would not come on. I knew the phone hadn't powered off because of the green light. I called from my home phone but there was no sound either. I looked online and found how to force a reboot (power on and volume down button at same time). The phone came on and said it still had a 50% charge. It did NOT show my missed calls! I called Verizon and they tried to say it was a fluke thing and not to worry. This has never happened before and the phone is only a month old. I rely on the phone as an alarm so this is especially disturbing, as well as the unknown missed calls.
I just purchased a Bionic with the car mount. I can only put the phone in car mode with the mount. I don't have a Car Mode Icon. I would like to go in to Car Mode without putting the phone on the mount. While in the car I made some settings default, like the Music, and I would like to undo this but can't find a way to do change it.
My mic does not work in speakerphone mode. I does however work in normal phone mode, and at the same distances that it does not work in speaker mode. Google voice search works just fine. I'm certain that the mic is not the problem. A factory reset did not solve the issue.
So I started to notice this a few weeks ago, My Droid 2 Global would automaticlly switch into silent mode all by itself at 10:00pm. No matter if it is in my pocket, or on my desk, or in the media dock. I find this to be quite annoying and missed a lot of calls and texts because of this. What I would like to know, is there a setting that control auto silent mode?
