Motorola Defy :: GTalk Auto-logs Off After Upgrade?
Jul 4, 2011
I did the factory reset and i have installed no additional application in defy. I just set up the google account and logged in to Gtalk... again after the phone goes to sleep mode Gtalk gets automatically logged off and hence i dont receive any msg. I have kept the batery manager in Performance Mode.I am having this problem since very begining inmy defy. However my friend using samsung spica with 2.1 doennot have this problem and remains online and receiving msg instantly.
After i upgraded to FroYo, my camera no longer does the auto focus. The image will be blurred. When i press the soft key on the cam screen, it starts focussing and get a clear picture. Also there is a delay bet image capture and flash.
setting up auto-fetching applies to all email accounts. I swear on my 2.1 Spice XT300, the auto-retrieval was by email address (and also the smallest interval between fetches was 5 minutes, not 15 like on the Defy). I have never used 2.1 on the Defy; mine was original 2.2.1.
I've bought my 'Defy, motoblur - MB525' on 'T-mobile - UK. It doesn't seems to be connecting to 3G. I've gone thru different checks on the phone with t-mobile support, even sent my phone for 3 weeks but still the same problem. They'v ask me to sent it back. Mobile network is set on auto, but i m unable to view any videos or download a simple pdf, it takes very long to connect to some sites. There is always a 'G' on top of the screen.
I got BB Curve 9300 and BB services activated. Recently I got a message that an upgrade for messengers are available for gtalk, yahoo, msn , BB travel.
I was able to upgrade BB travel successfully but for gtalk / yahoo / msn.. all 3 it does not allow me. Nothing happens when I attempt to upgrade..I get a message " please wait " for a second or two..but nothing happes after that even after I hit upgrade on all 3 messengers numerous times.. I got V 5.0 software on BB phone. current upgrading version available for all 3 messengers are 2.5.69.
I am in Thailand, with a Defy which isnt locked to any carrier. The 2.2 upgrade is now supposed to be available here. I have never been able to access updates directly from the phone - About phone/System updates, says the service is unavailable, whether I connect via 3G or wifi. When I download and run the lastest version of MSU C01.16.10, it tells me "There is no software update currently available for your mobile device. Please check back for new releases." My APflex version is GAS_ASIA_USAJORDANRTINT15_P003. My firmware version is 2.1-update, Am I doing something wrong?
I just installed the update on my phone and now the camera is not working correctly. It will takes a photo but the photo will not show up on the screen - it's just black. The camcorder function works fine.
Whenever I check for update I'm told there is an update for the Kindle app but I can't get the update to work on my Defy. The install from the Android Market gets a "Not properly signed" message and the install from the Amazon Appstore just plain gets a "Install failed".
Am I stuck with the old version of the KIndle app because its a system app with Motoblur? Doesn't seem to make much sense to preload an app on a phone in such a way that the app can't be updated!
Ok so after having to replace the earpiece under warranty I thought would risk another outage to my Defy. It was bought sim-free and I use my work SIM in it from Vodafone. So ran through the upgrade, and it worked first time ... until wifi. Wifi does not connect or rather from what I can determine I cannot actually obtain an IP address. For it to actually connect to the hub I have to force the settings to toggle the "Enable Auto IP" setting and manually set the channel to the same as my hub. (not had to do that with any other phone ... ) by the way, this still does not give me a data connectionAlso tried setting a static IP address and related settings and that does not work either Did a factory reset as recommended on the other pages - no avail. My hub runs WPA/WPA2 and I have a variety of devices connecting to it, trouble free, including 2 other Android 2.2 phones (HTC Desire Z and LG Optimus One), Windows XP, Windows 7, PS3 etc etc ... oh and once I had a Defy running 2.1 Eclair connecting trouble free?
I have a motorola DEFY that came with a built in 2GB micro SD card.I now feel the need to upgrade memory to a 16GB card. While doing this How do I ensure the transfer all applications from android market (paid and free) to the new memory card?
I recently upgraded my defy (with optus) to android 2.2 and haven't had many issues.
One thing that bugs me is when i take images with my camera now, they don't appear in the gallery. The small diplay on the bottom left displays the image but as soon as i click on it to view the image it appears to delete it.
I am planning to send my XOOM in an "as is" condition to avoid all of the reinstallation and setup problems. However, I plan to backup all my private data, e.g.pictures and documents.I would like to change auto login to gmail, Android market place, and Amazon market place to logging in manually before I send my xoom out for the upgrade. (This is to protect my account from the unauthorized access.)step by step of changing for the above three applications?
i would like to use the video chat with google talk but cant find the app in the marketplace. i search for gtalk and find all sorts of stuff but not the real gtalk.
My phone has multiple resets ad the direction of Motorola, and has been in for a circuit board replacement. Now the screen still freezes and the reception is hopeless.I am sure this handset is a lemon. It is still under warranty, 11 months old.
Before getting slammed for this: I tried to search first! The search functionality appears to be either very confusing, or broken. I could not see any results for my search, or any notification of 'No Results'.That being said, my real question is about Gmail and Gtalk notifications. I get notifications of calls and texts, but no Gmail or Gtalk. I have the app installed on my android phone (running ICS) and the device is paired properly (indicated by both the app and the fact that the two other notifications work properly).
I updated to Froyo via Motorola website but it hasn't worked. My phone still shows firmware 2.1.1. Tried to update again via Motorola website but it now tells me that there are no updates for my phone.....I presume that it somehow detects that my phone previously downloaded froyo update.
My Defy is denied application on the market with no reason that I understand. Some apps are not visible from the phone, and are said "non compatible" from the market website. Sometime the website talks of country restriction while they should not be.
I have had my defy now for a few months, and I have been pretty happy with it (babyproof smartphone!)Unfortunately, its becoming more and more unreliable, and am having to reboot it regularly. This weekend is the worst. Here are some of the things it is doing:
all apps keep freezing and crashing (no fancy apps, mostly use it for twitter, facebook etc).phone keeps freezing and being unresponsible on the home screen keep getting an 'emergency calls only' notification, which then clears straight away when i go into notifications.mms photos - both sent and received take up to 5 days to be visible. until then they are just flagged as 'downloading'. I'm pretty sure it shouldn't take 5 days to download a 27kb file. After rebooting, I did have a gmail widget require a forced close immediately. I was never using that widget anyway, and couldn't see it, so I uninstalled it. Now on rebooting I have to force close Google Services Framework. I have decided that looks reasonably important and useful and have declined to uninstall that so far.
I have a my Defy & XT and as of 9:22 am the weather widget hasn't udated and I've turned the phone off and on etc and then I deleted my location and tried to readd it and it said something like.. location information cannot be found (not sure off hand).. I don't know what to do but it won't let me add any loactions but apps from the market work.
I have not set up the IM progam on my phone. If I go into it there are no accounts listed. I received a notification that I had a new IM. I opened it and there was a person's name and a chat, but no inidication of how they were contacting me. GTalk? Facebook Chat? Text Message? Just their name. As it turns out, I subsequently opened GTalk and there was the conversation I just had.
So after upgrading OTA to 2.3.6 and performing a factory reset on my Atrix 4G, I've noticed that stock google talk app loses connection with the server after a few minutes while the phone is asleep. As soon as I wake up the phone, The network status icon is gray and within 30 seconds or so, the phone reconnects with the google servers and the icon turns blue again.
I've never had this issue before while on 2.2 and 2.3.4. I've made sure the app is always open and background data is enabled. Also my battery mode is set to performance mode so it should sync all day.
I am using Motorola xoom with Android 3.1. I am facing a problem with gtalk and that is:
The gtalk remains online while i am using xoom but then after standby time my status goes to idle for the friends in my contact list and if they send me any message in this state I cant receive them and if they try to call me then the caller party hears the bell that as if it should be while someone calls on gtalk but i cant get the notification of call or any ring. Why Gtalk cant get calls on my xoom although it seems online to others in standby mode......is it some bug in android?
I was having a flickering backlight issue with my droid X so as part of the process of troubleshooting it, I did a factory reset. Good news is that the flickering backlight issue seems to be gone but now I have other more important issues.
During the activation process I successfully signed into my google account and it synched my contacts, my gmail, my calendar etc. Then I received a warning notification that signing to Gtalk authentication had failed. Also, when I try to download an app from the market, it will not download. Nor will downloads start initiated by installing them from the web front market.
I've noticed that neither my cell reception indicator nor my 3G/wifi icons on the notification bar are blue. They are just white. They usually were blue before the factory reset. I've read that this could indicate that Android is still synching my phone after the reset but its been a few hours now and it wont go blue
