View 5 RepliesI just bought Neo V 3 days ago. First day I connected it to internet which I use at home via Wifi. There was no any problem, there was internet connection. But 1 day after it's gone. I'm connecting wifi (sees it, enters password and connects) but there is no internet connection. I surfed on internet to detect problem and all i found was 'changing wep to wpa' . (I'm using u.s. robotics 9106 as modem) But it didn't work out too.

View 7 Replies View RelatedI am able to connect to my wifi and it shows with both a check mark and the wireless bars in the top right of my phone that I am connected to wifi but when I try to refresh apps using the internet or pull up the internet browser it says I have no internet connection. I have a tablet the connects to the same network with out any problems and has full internet access so it's something with my phone. I have tried forgetting the network and reconnecting along with resetting my network settings. nothing seems to be working.

I recently connected to desktop manager for the first time and updated all available programs,firmwares, etc, I'm assuming this is the root of the problem. Gmail and Facebook apps won't connect, (you need a working data connection bla bla) and same with Browser app.Any solution that doesn't involve downgrading, wiping clean? (I've pulled the battery, turned wifi on and off with no results)

Until then everything was fine.Now when I plug my Bravo into a USB port, I hear a chime, but no window opens.When I go to My Computer, the phone is shown as Removeable Disk (X:).When I double click on it, a small window opens with this message: "Insert Disk.Please insert a disk into drive X:." Under properties, it appears as Motorola MB520 USB Device, a disk drive.After plenty of research, I have tried changing the assigned letter of the drive twice.Every other USB device I own works just fine on my PC. The only way I can access the phone on my PC is to turn off the pc, connect the phone, power on the pc, and then the phone appears as a phone. When I connect the phone to another pc, the phone appears as it should.Some research shows this problem may be related to Acronis on my pc, but another pc with Acronis on it can recognize my phone. Could this be the result of disconnecting the phone without "preparing" the disconnect?

However, while exploring 2.2, I recall seeing a setting that, if the WiFi connection drops, the new setting stops the Bravo from using the 3G. If the Bravo changed over to 3G to maintain the internet connection (apparently the default setting), massive data charges would be incurred. I have tried to re-discover this setting but no success to date. Any way to use / change this "WiFi to 3G" setting?

I need the wifi because ATT will charge you your first born for data usage. MOTO current Android version says 2.2.1. I dont want to be violated.

this has been a problem since i've had this phone, but i assumed it was the source i was watching (Internet, netflix, etc), but eventually narrowed it down to my phone, or possibly router, are loosing the interent connection, despite the wifi symbol still in the notification bar.
toggling wifi off then on again will fix the problem most of the time, but usually only for a few minutes. i'm usually able to access the interent on my phone at first, but after a minute or two (or sometimes much longer) the interent drops again.
restarting doesn't change anything (on either my phone, or the router, or both). i have a new-ish netgear router (~1 year old), and i have no problems with any other wifi device that use the home router (including a roku, and another android phone).
setting up a Bravo MB520 to work correctly with Consumer Cellular Service. Which fields have to be set up to make the Data work? Is there a good guide to explain all the software in setup for instance? Or how do I get an unlock code to get the phone away from other networks?

The Admirals Club (American Airlines), the Red Carpet Club (United Airlines), the Chairman's Club (US Airways) often offer complimentary wifi access, usually via T-Mobile. Typically what you do is navigate to a web page co-branded with the airline's logo and click on "Wifi access" or a similar link.The problem is that the T-Mobile hotspot categorizes the Bravo as a phone, not a PC browser, and never takes you to the specific page for that airport lounge; I kept getting sent to a page where I was supposed to log in with a T-Mobile username. I finally gave up and called T-Mobile hotspot support who pointed me in the right direction even though they don't sell the Bravo.
Open your Bravo's stock browser.Enter about:debug in URL field and press Go. No visible feedback is given after the command is entered. Select Menu --> More --> Settings. At the bottom of the Settings list you should see 9 items in a section called Debug.Select the UAString item and choose Desktop.Press the back arrow to return to the browser. You should now be able to access the URL that gives you the lounge wifi access. You can set the UAString back to Android once you're connected to the wifi, I found.
It appears to connect and then reconnect, and reconnect again.

Although we had no problem using wifi with our old phones, the Electrify searches, connects and then immediately disconnects. I've spent hours checking out the router software as the admin, checking on line to see if others have reported this and I've tried every combination of options on the Electrify. We're both running Win7 and both use our routers successfully on other wireless devices in our homes.

View 5 Replies View RelatedI've recently installed the latest, free OVI maps for E71 but it still connects to the internet using my t-mobile data connection.I've set the Internet connection to offline, default accesspoint to "search for WLAN" and roaming warning to on. Futhermore synchronisation is set to manual.But it still connects to internet using the t-mobile internet connection and even though it's just a few kilobytes it can cost me money if I'm outside the country.This behaviour is the same as the previous version. I used it in Thailand and downloaded the Thailand map before and set the application to offline. When I wanted to know my position it connected to the internet without even asking.I discovered the connections by accident (looking at the logs) after two weeks and it cost me about 18 euros. Even though no more than 20 Kb per day was sent (and received) by default at least 200 Kb is billed per day if a connection is made.The only way to avoid the connections being made was to set the phone to flight/off-line modus though detection of my position was a lot slower so I suspect the connections are made for a rough position detection using the mobile connection points.Though now I see mainly brief connections out are made they're still connections and I would like to be able to disable it without loosing my main-phone-function (receiving phone calls).
View 9 Replies View RelatedSo I've just downloaded the new free Ovi Maps for my 5800 and it's pretty nice, except for one thing: even when I set the connection to offline it still connects to the Internet every time the app is started (which, even though the app is fullscreen is visible when, for example you go into the settings screen). It seems though that after a minute or so it disconnects, but still, the old Maps app asked on startup whether to connect, this one just does without asking every time it's started.Am I missing some hidden setting?
View 6 Replies View RelatedI have Nokia C7, recently updated with Belle OS. Past couple of weeks, I am noticing "Messaging" app connects to the internet and uploads some data. This happens whenever I open Messaging to check my messages with my internet connection enabled.
I have checked for Virus/Spyware..etc, but nothing seems to be existing. I have Kaspersky Mobile security. I have also removed the thirdparty app's as well, but still I have the same issue.
If I access the Messaging app when my Internet connection is disabled, it will "Mobile Data Off", which means it tries to connect to internet.
Any whooo got myself a new phone last week (figured it was time as I had my last one almost 7 years!!) and I've been trying to set up up etc ever since. I'm now at the confused.com point I want to use my phone on the WLAN at home and I've added the service to the phone using the wizard etc however every time it connects its seems to use the futures bright internet and thus I incur download charges, ok they are only a few pence at a time but I don't know why it does this. I've set the phone to ask on connection and I pick the WLAN every time.Can anyone help me please - fyi this phone has been unlocked and unbranded and is currently using PAYG, don't know if that makes any difference or not but thought I would share
