Noticed that greyed out was Ethernet and Ethernet settings under Wireless and network settings.Was wondering if that was suppose to be used for anything.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have an iPhone 4 on 3 UK, with unlimited data and unlimited tethering. I also have an LG smart tv, but no Wifi dongle with it, just standard RJ45 ethernet port.
Can I use my iPhone as a hotspot, connected to my laptop either via Wifi or USB, and set up an Ad-hoc network on the laptop to allow my tv internet access via ethernet cable? The laptop is running on windows 7 if that makes any difference.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI am having an error with the WiFi of the Atrix 4G. It will not connect and when I go into settings it just says 'Error'. I have had the phone since it has come out and this has never happened before. I have wiped and restarted the phone twice and nothing has changed. I have attached pictures of the menu settings page and the toggle switch which just has the loading symbol and cant be switched on or off.
View 14 Replies View RelatedRecently just bought the XPRT and I love it! Fast phone with a sweet keyboard. I am using the phone in Australia so I am using the GMS/UMTS network mode.
I like to turn my phone off at night to conserve battery power as I often forget to recharge my phone. However, when I turn my phone back on it restores the Sprint network mode and turns on all the network guards and turns data connections off. So having to change all this again each time is slightly annoying so I have just been leaving my phone on at night.
Is there a way to save these settings so I can turn my phone off at night? Or do I have to leave my phone on?
Usually I arrive somewhere, pop in a prepaid sim and hit the ground running.,, On many different networks. US, NZ, AU, no problem. In Bangkok I blamed the dodgy Thai sim card and language barrier, but same problem in Cambodia on different network. Meanwhile, my friend's phone is getting 3g just fine in both countries. I think I need to change some code or something in the phone settingsThe Cambodian woman who sold me this sim tried typing "qb" where a network code would go, and of course it gave her an error over and over. I'm sure my sim is designed for 3g and that there's coverage.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI have recently done a hard factory wipe/reset as well as erased my user data through Motoblur site, but when I turn on the phone it still retains all my screen layout settings, sticky notes and content, contact layouts, shortcuts etc...I would like to have everything reset to blank like the day I bought the phone, is there any way to do this rather than removing everything from the screen one by one?

It is not listed in the "All Apps" list and when on the home screen, pressing the menu button then "Settings" does absolutely nothing. I've factory reset the phone, twice externally.
I can't get any more phone details as the menu is inacessible. how else I can get the settings menu functionality back?

I have to press the "Speaker" button on the screen and then i can hear the person on the call without issue.

There is no "Voicemail settings" in the "Call settings" section. It seems like a first page of Call settings is missing because at the top of the list it says "Call settings", then immediately under that it says "Other call settings".
View 5 Replies View RelatedMy wife and I both have Atrix 4G phones. I frequently get a Popup window when I unplug the charger reminding me to unplug the charger. This happens both with my 12V to USB adapter plugged into my motorcycle and with the home charger from Motorola. Also, I lose the settings for my home wireless and have to re-enter everything. I've gotten notifications that I'm using up my data plan because I lose my wireless and emails then start downloading over the cell network without my knowing it. I'm about ready to get rid of the so called smart phone and go back to my basic cell phone.

I had this problem a while ago and I was told my motoblur account was inactive. I'm assuming this has happened again somehow? How does this keep happening? View 6 Replies View RelatedSo, I bought a G3 (a white D855 32gb) from Dubai a few weeks ago to replace my 16gb UK version.However, it doesn't have an option in network settings for 4G. My SIM is definitely 4G enabled as it worked fine on my last phone and I can get around this using the 4G switcher app, but it defaults back to GSM / WCDMA option on reboot.
The phone has just been updated to version V10i-AME-XX (an Arab version I believe) as I was hoping that would fix it, but still no option for 4G. what I can see, there should be a 4th LTE / 4G option at the top. Why I can't see it? Using a UK (o2) SIM in an international phone perhaps?
What does the "Reset Network Settings" option do? I found this suggestion under the "calls connection issues" topic and all it says is that it will "clear current cellular and Wi-Fi network settings, saved networks, Wi-Fi passwords and VPN settings" but doesn't go into any details of what happens next. Will the phone just automatically reassign the proper settings or will I have a dead phone? I'm on Verizon and have iPhone 4S, OS 5.1 The reason I went looking is because when I first got the iPhone in Jan 2012, I would have issues with calls going straight to voicemail even though my phone was on and showing strong reception. The phone wouldn't ring or anything and then I wouldn't get my VM messages until hours later. This would also happen with text messages. I didn't even know there was an issue, nothing on the phone indicated anything like missed calls or bad/no connection, and would only find out when friends told me or I'd listen to the VM. And it didn't happen all the time just every now and again.
So I had to call Verizon several times and on the last call they refreshed my network line, so I didn't have to do a phone wipe/reset, and that seemed to do the trick. But just today I discovered that now calls are just ringing, but not ringing on my handset. So I have to dial *832 to test the line, which passes, and then everything is fine again:calls come through, and all texts that were held in purgatory while this anomaly happens, come through immediately. So I'm wondering if resetting the network will solve my issue. Is anyone experiencing the same? BTW, yes, I've checked the most obvious thing, and no, I do not have my ringer silenced, off, or have the switch on red.
I bought an iPhone 4G in Hong Kong official Apple store, and now using it in Russia. They said it is oficially unlocked. I never did jail or anything inappropriate within the user licence. Recently I upgraded the device to iOS 5, then to 5.0.1 and 5.1, but the problem still remains. Unfortunately, the Apple guarantie is availiable only at the local place in Hong Kong. The problem is there is no network (EDGE, GPRS, 3G) in the iPhone, it means there is NO sign and NO symbol of network (small circle/E/3G) next after the network name. Of course, none of internet service is availiable. Nothing changes when I'm playing with switching the network switches (in Network menu). I contacted my local network company and they said that none of GPRS services are missing in my account, the GPRS support is on, so they don't know why the network is absent. There is no doubt about network parameters - my son has iPhone 3Gs with the same operator, and parameters he has action pretty well. Do you have any ideas? Is it the problem of Hong Kong->Russia transfer? Maybe this device isn't compatible?
