Phone not waking up again after an overnight charge??, three times since I got the phone back in June, (but only once since the 8.1 update) the phone won't wake up after a charge and it takes holding the down volume and power button for about 10 seconds to get it to power up, but when it comes on it's reverted to the same date of May 23rd 2014....

View 9 Replies View RelatedHere's what happened, I charged my phone before sleeping and it went to 98% then I unplugged it that was like at 12am. I went to sleep then as this time of writing I woke up and tried to unlock my phone but to my surprise it wouldn't turn on! I thought something happened until I plugged my charger and everything went fine. I don't have apps that could possibly drain my phone because I just hard reset it 2 days ago. I can't send it to Nokia Care because my unit is out of warranty.

View 16 Replies View RelatedAt time i have to double tap 4-5 times before my Lumia 1020 reacts and wakes up. And it can be really slow. My previous Lumia 820 had no issues with this what so ever, it work up instantly and i never had to do multiple double taps.
It's actually completely useless like this (since it ain't double tap but sometimes tap'extravaganza).

Lumia 1020 black screen (no response etc) and have to reset the phone?
I did not have this since like last week. Sometimes the phone would reboot itself and now it's going to dark screen and I can't wake it.
I have been experiencing some pretty bad battery life with my 1020. It was getting to the point that with moderate use it was in battery saver mode within 8 hours. I shut off many background tasks, turned off 2 of my 4 email addresses and did some testing. In standby mode the phone dropped from 69% to 55% in about a half hour after a restart. Exasperated I turned off Double Tap to Wake after noticing the 'drains battery' warning. I then charged the phone and went to sleep. Today, with similar usage as normal (about an hour of streaming music, 2 push email accounts, web browsing, texting, etc.) I made it 8 hours and only dropped 39%.
View 24 Replies View RelatedI've seen many people claim that enabling 'double tap to wake' will drain your battery faster. On the settings page where you enable this setting, Nokia even says "this reduces battery life". I tried to measure it myself. After doing a number of normal discharge cycles with the feature enabled, I did one with it disabled. I didn't change any other settings. I used the phone normally in both runs - very similar usage.
I found that disabling this setting produced no significant change in battery life. In both runs that I compared, my battery level was at about 20% after about 3 days. See the attached graphs for my results. The first graph is with the setting on. After just a little under 3 days it was very close to 20%. The second graph is with the setting off. After exactly 3 days it was a little above 20%. These results are not exactly the same but I don't think they're significantly different. Not as different as I was expecting.
So yesterday I spent a couple hours taking some photographs and came home to do some design work and I left the 1020 charged in. Yet as the day went on, the phone never charged, it continued to go down, even plugged in. I tried plugging in the camera extension but even with that it eventually discharged to 4% then stuck there, plugged in. When I'd unplug, I would get the critical battery warning. I tried rebooting twice, and finally on the 2nd reboot, the battery level went to 100%.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI have a Lumia 1020 for about 11 months now and today it stopped charging. If I try to turn on the phone, I can see the low battery indicator. Then the phone will proceed to turn off after a few seconds. I have tried a soft reset by holding down power and volume down at the same time. I can feel a small vibration after 6 seconds of doing this, but otherwise nothing happens. I have tried 2 different chargers, as well as connecting to the USB in the computer.

I tried to plug it up to my computer but I got nothing there either. I am getting no indication that its charging and I'm starting to think I'm out of options. Is there anything else I can try? View 9 Replies View RelatedI have never had a problem with my previous Sony Xperia S, nor any Android handset.I would charge my phone over night, wake up late because my alarm does not work. Phone is frozen, phone is hot and phone wont turn on.I have to do the hard reset (volume key + power) to reset it / turn it off. this has to be a charging issue because the battery is at 95 - 97% when I turn it back on, indicating there is something seriously heating the phone up during the evening.
View 9 Replies View RelatedBasically I charge my phone with the mains charger, everything looks fine, the orange light comes on and the battery symbol in the corner shows that it is charging. I leave it charging overnight, so it's usually plugged in for a good 7 hours, however, when I wake up the next morning the phone isn't fully charged, at best I am on 50% and at worst the battery symbol is yellow.
I've been upgraded to ICS quite a while and have not installed any new apps recently so I am a bit stumped as to what the issue is. I thought maybe it was the battery, but I have since bought a new battery and I get the same issue with this also. A factory reset has also not sorted the issue.
Last night I used the official Samsung wireless charger to charge my phone overnight. The battery graph shows it reached 100% at 2am, but then dropped back down to 92% when I picked it up in the morning.The highest battery usage app was "Connection Optimizer" with 2% usage which doesn't seem like a lot. I've disabled it under the "Mobile Networks" setting so we'll see if that works. But somehow I doubt that was causing the drain.

I turned off notifications for any app that seemed to wake the phone, and I usually put the phone in "Do Not Disturb" mode at night. Now, the only thing that wakes it is when the battery becomes fully charged. How to stop the phone from doing this? I use the phone as my clock/alarm, so I don't want to turn the phone off. Since many people probably charge their phones next to their beds at night, this seems like a particularly dumb feature.

This is unfortunately going to be the straw that broke the camel's back for me. I can't in my right mind pay $600 for a device that I have to keep plugged in all the time.
my phone has managed to delete almost all my texts overnight. The only texts that survived are the ones i don't need, like the useless one you get from Microsoft at the start, and all the useless operator ones.
what the **bleep** happened, and do i have to expect this for the rest of its life,(which wont be long). i have just transfered my texts from my n8 but not of all of the contacts had old messages, and some old operator messages still survived. this is not what i expect from a phone, for it to randomly delete all my texts.
I went to my local at&t store over the weekend to check out the 950 and noticed it wouldn't wake with a double tap, I couldn't find it in the settings so I just figured the setting was buried somewhere but it was verified by 950 users on they're forum that its not in the new OS..

If i plug it in to charge.. it charges at about 1% per hour if that.. turn the screen on and it drops several percent,. use it unplugged and it rapidly discharges maybe 15% or more in a very short period of time.
Im guessing i got a bad batch?
Its very odd that both phones exhibit the same behavior.. and just for kicks i left 8.1 on one and put 10 on the other.
On my icon I'm running the Developers preview. It seems when I hit the power button to wake my phone there is a slight delay. It seems to happen when i'm at home and not so much at work.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI'm not sure if this is related more to Denim update or enabling "Hey Cortana" but now, when I press the power on button I see the top indicators show up immediately, then after about 10 seconds the rest of the main screen displays.. Subsequently, pressing power off/on will resume immediately, but after a few minutes the same behavior occurs again.

View 7 Replies View RelatedSInce the latest update 12070, if my phone is plugged into the mains charging when the power / wake up button is pressed, the touch screen is notally non responsive, and you cannot use the phone. If however, you reove the mains lead BEFORE pressing the power/wakeup button, everything works fine.Rolled back to previous update, everything worked fine - mains power or not, put the update back on, and the problem returned!

I hit yes and says no app available and takes me back to the post. When I install the App from the app store, it's free, it appears to install, but cant access it.

View 3 Replies View RelatedMy 1020 has become quite sluggish of late so I've decided I'm going to do a hard reset at the very least.I bought the device (yellow AU CV) whilst on holiday in Australia, but I'm now back in the UK, so I thought as I'm going to wipe it anyway, I might as well reflash it to the CV UK ROM, especially as Australia appear to be massively stalling on Denim as well.
