View 2 RepliesToday I acquired a Lumia 1020, black, from the at&t store. Have to admit, I was super excited until I got home and saw the images this thing produces. Maybe I got a bad phone, but I doubt it. The images are incredibly noisy, and I expected much better.I'm looking at the images with high-res in the file name. And all of these were on automatic settings (except for one or two where I turned the flash to "assist only".)
Is it this bad everywhere? Maybe a bad phone? The images is horribly oversampled and pixelated even at low zoom levels, or default "just looking at the picture". My Lumia 920 doesn't look like this on normal photos (when you don't zoom in). URL...
How to share the FULL RESOLUTION of Lumia 1020 photos? When I send them to another phone they are not in full res...
View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm considering purchasing a Lumia 1020, I'm looking for a little clarification on the camera.I've read that the full res images don't get uploaded to SkyDrive, this is pretty important to me, the main reason I like my existing Lumia is the auto-upload of images, and I don't have to plug in a USB cable. Is this correct, or do the full res images get uploaded. If it only works over WiFi, that's fine.
View 8 Replies View RelatedI recently got myself the nokia lumia 1020 after seeing and hearing about the camera on it. Well, I'm disappointed with the photos after transferring them to my computer and I am wondering if I am only getting the 5 mp shots off of the phone. I have a mac, and so I downloaded the Windows Phone app onto the computer so that I can hook my phone up via USB and take the photos off. When I take them off, they are grainy when you zoom in a couple of times. They also only appear to be, on average, 2mb in size. It seems to me that the full sized photos would take up more space than that, or am I wrong?
View 10 Replies View RelatedI recently installed latest os 6 for my Bold 9780. 6.0.0.448. I am running BBM 5.0.1.45
When I send an image it does not give me the option of sending a full res image. I notice it is sent at 29kb file size. A recent recipient requested a higher res image. First, how can I accomodate that request through BBM.
Secondly, is there a way to change the default size for sending images through bbm? I remember I used to be able to pick the resolution as I do now when sending email attachments.
Does the new Camera360 Sight app support high resolution capture on the 1020 (34/38 megapixels)?
View 8 Replies View RelatedI am not talking about the 5mp shots the phone creates. When my wife uploades or mms a picture or video they are terrible. Is there something in the settings I need to adjust? If I send it to my phone over bluetooth is looks amazing still.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI've done a good deal of testing with the 1020. Shown is a resolution test with the 1020 in DNG mode. I judge the resolution at 100 LP/mm ( 35mm equivalent ). For comparison, my 14MP Sigma only makes it to about 50. My friends 20MP Canon earns about 65. 35mm color print film maxes out at about 85 and Tech Pan, 120. I use my 1020 in JEPG mode which yields about 90 but is considerably faster and less noisy than DNG mode. All these tests are " apples to apples ". In other words, the test chart fits the frame on all devices.
View 10 Replies View RelatedI have read lot of reviews of great 41MP Camera of Lumia1020. I can take both the pictures (seen in the camera settings and tried). Both the pics look exactly same on the phone screen and there is no meaning of so hyped 'zoom, reframe, crop, edit' thing. I can only do this on the 5MP from my phone readily if I want to share the different angled shot or something.
Have tried downloading 34MP highres pictures on PC and they look not very different from the 5MP ones. It's a great botheration for me at least as I can't show my friend's the great 41MP pictures on my phone and then zoom them to see close ups. All I can do is see the 5MP pictures (although great quality, beyond imagination of any other camera phone brand right now). How to successfully exploit the 34Mega Pixels on phone screen right after the shot is taken and should look better than 5MP.
I tried,so many photography apps..certain apps good, but, the problem is,when we save after we make editing in that apps, they save my photo in low resolution..

I have a Nokia Lumia 1020 with the 'Black' update.I have set the camera via settings to take JPEG(5 MP) +DNG (34 MP) - I have taken a good few pictures now. However, when I try to upload the pictures - I cant see any .DNG files - my files are listed as either WP_20140101_10_00_00_Raw.jpg or WP_20140101_10_00_00_Pro.jpg..how do i set fully for .DNG images and where are they located on the phone ?
View 8 Replies View RelatedIs it just me, or do the images in the Photos app in Win 10 Mobile (Brand new 950XL) not take advantage of the screen? For every image I have to pinch to zoom in on an image, then double tap to zoom out before I can swipe to another image. This seems like another major oversight/annoyance in Windows 10 mobile.
View 1 Replies View RelatedPerhaps i'm preaching to the converted, but since hi-res images do not show up as thumbnails, just as DNG files when looking at the files on the phone, using windows explorer,i decided to copy all the hi-res images to a new folder on the computer. On looking at the new folder in explorer, thumbnails where being shown, but with strange purple and green casts.I then decided to run all the images through Adobes DNG convertor, and lo and behold all the images where now normal, and easily viewable.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI just bought a 1020 and I'm really not sure how to access the full resolution images I've taken. The phone is supposed to take two images, one over-sampled 5 mpixel image, and another at full resolution. I used the Windows Phone app to upload my images to my PC, and when I look at the info I see the images are 3072x1729 @ 72 dpi. Surely that's not the full res image?
View 10 Replies View RelatedFinally took the plunge and bought a 1020. Just starting to learn how to use it and was wondering how I can access the hi res images ? In the settings I selected 5mp & 34mp in "Capture Mode," but when I connect the camera to my pc, all I see are the low res images.

View 7 Replies View RelatedPossible to restore high res photos on the 1020 after flashing? Before flashing my 1020 with a country variant, I backed up all my images (pro and high res) to the computer then after flashing, I copied them back to the phone. However, when viewing the images in the gallery or even from ProCam, there's no option to view the image in ProCam so effectively, I have lost the ability to view the high res versions. This is a bit of a shame as I can no longer show off the impressive pinch to zoom as well as other features.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI bought a NOKIA 1020 yesterday. After I connected it to a wi-fi it did multiple updates and now the windows version is 8.10.14226.359.An update in the Store was stuck and in another thread the restore factory defaults option was proposed, and so I did a factory reset after all the OS updates had taken place. After that I also updated all applications in the Store. The problem is, that only one Camera application is installed on the phone and I cannot find the NOKIA camera app which allows the 38 MP raw images to be captured. I searched the Store for the NOKIA camera app, but nothing came up.The question is how can I shoot 38 MPixel raw images in windows version 8.10.14226.359.

But I can see the images via camera app. The Images are missing from camera album. When its connected to PC,images are still thr. I have done this steps also...
Turn skydrive off temporarily (Photos > Camera Roll > ... > skydrive settings > Don't upload).
Open Nokia Camera app.
Tap ...
Tap settings.
Tap Find photos and video shot with Nokia Camera.
Wait until the progress bar disappears.
Close Nokia Camera app.
Turn skydrive back to on.
But still i cant see my images in camera album..
I transferred all my photos to my Mac in a folder. Both sets of images are there, but I was wandering what program to use to access the DNG raw. Not necessarily to DO anything, but just to SEE them.
View 4 Replies View RelatedTried HD Photo Viewer 8.0 app last night, allows you to view high-res versions of photos on phone. Found little if any difference. App details unclear, seem to suggest that you can do it on a Windows phone, and that you can't on a Nokia.

1. Is this possible from the built-in browser ? I can do it from Opera Mini, but haven't found a straightforward method for the Nokia browser.
2. The images I did download are very small (certainly smaller than the were when uploaded). Is it possible to download the full-sized image ? If not, is this a phone/browser or Facebook limitation ?
Did I miss the memo that says deleting lo-res photos will somehow not allow one to open the hi-res versions? I have the 1520 connected to my Windows 7 PC (via USB) and wanted to keep the hi-res versions only, so I deleted the lo-res ones. The hi-res files still appear as physical files in file explorer with multiple megabytes but no preview/ thumbnail (same as before). I can't transfer them to an empty folder on my Desktop or to Imgur, nothing happens, not even an explanation. I checked my recycle bin and the lo-res files are no where to be found.

When I take a photo and share it directly from the camera or photo app via email, the file size is always being reduced to ~300kb?
How can I send the original file (~1-2MB, the 5 megapixel version, not the 35 megapixel version...)
Also, isnt it better to use the windows camera app (smart cam), over the lumia pro cam, if you dont need the 35 megapixel raw pictures and if you are fine with the auto setting (no need for manual adjustments)?
- Any other reason for the lumia pro cam app?
- How can I switch the camera button to start the smart cam app, not the pro cam app?
I've bought a Nokia N79 10 days ago and I have a problem with my camera. I can't find it of high resolution and it seems like it's 2 megapixels not 5 megapixels
When I capture the image immediately with one click, the image seems to be blurred (especially when I photograph texts). To make it capture the image properly with clear text, I should keep pressing the camera button till I see the green brackets then take the photo.
Is that normal or a problem?? knowing that nokia E71 camera is completely different with clear image although it's 3.2 MP.The same thing happens when I capture anything(especially text as well)on video. Please I need a quick answer because I need to know if this phone is defective.
I want to update to new iPhone, so I have backed up my current iphone using iTunes. I looked in my library to see if the images are all backed up and they seem to be smaller and of a lower resolution. Will the images be hi-res when i restore them to a new phone?
