Finally took the plunge and bought a 1020. Just starting to learn how to use it and was wondering how I can access the hi res images ? In the settings I selected 5mp & 34mp in "Capture Mode," but when I connect the camera to my pc, all I see are the low res images.
View 1 RepliesToday I acquired a Lumia 1020, black, from the at&t store. Have to admit, I was super excited until I got home and saw the images this thing produces. Maybe I got a bad phone, but I doubt it. The images are incredibly noisy, and I expected much better.I'm looking at the images with high-res in the file name. And all of these were on automatic settings (except for one or two where I turned the flash to "assist only".)
Is it this bad everywhere? Maybe a bad phone? The images is horribly oversampled and pixelated even at low zoom levels, or default "just looking at the picture". My Lumia 920 doesn't look like this on normal photos (when you don't zoom in). URL...
Possible to restore high res photos on the 1020 after flashing? Before flashing my 1020 with a country variant, I backed up all my images (pro and high res) to the computer then after flashing, I copied them back to the phone. However, when viewing the images in the gallery or even from ProCam, there's no option to view the image in ProCam so effectively, I have lost the ability to view the high res versions. This is a bit of a shame as I can no longer show off the impressive pinch to zoom as well as other features.

The phone is supposed to take two images, one over-sampled 5 mpixel image, and another at full resolution. I used the Windows Phone app to upload my images to my PC, and when I look at the info I see the images are 3072x1729 @ 72 dpi. Surely that's not the full res image?

Does it saves both to camera roll or does it save the 5mp somewhere else for sharing from the phone cause only one copy of each photo is on the phone camera roll ...
So, I know that you couldn't access the High Res Photo from the Pro Cam apps unless you open it with a computer, now, how do I access those high res photo that I processed in Lightroom ?

How to get it to back up the high RES automatically and wirelessly? I have read some article on this site saying it was possible. (dated 2013). Is it still the case?

View 8 Replies View RelatedI have read lot of reviews of great 41MP Camera of Lumia1020. I can take both the pictures (seen in the camera settings and tried). Both the pics look exactly same on the phone screen and there is no meaning of so hyped 'zoom, reframe, crop, edit' thing. I can only do this on the 5MP from my phone readily if I want to share the different angled shot or something.
Have tried downloading 34MP highres pictures on PC and they look not very different from the 5MP ones. It's a great botheration for me at least as I can't show my friend's the great 41MP pictures on my phone and then zoom them to see close ups. All I can do is see the 5MP pictures (although great quality, beyond imagination of any other camera phone brand right now). How to successfully exploit the 34Mega Pixels on phone screen right after the shot is taken and should look better than 5MP.
Are there any Cloud Storage apps that let you upload High Res pics without connecting it to computer?
Skydrive is limited to 5MB correct? Is there any way around it?
I will be travelling soon and would hate to have to bring my laptop to have to connect the 1020 to in order to transfer the High Res pictures.
I have a Lumia 1020 and I saw if the master volume is around 25 from a maximum of 30, when I dial a number in dialing pad, there is a cracking sound in bottom speaker.

I have a Nokia Lumia 1020 with the 'Black' update.I have set the camera via settings to take JPEG(5 MP) +DNG (34 MP) - I have taken a good few pictures now. However, when I try to upload the pictures - I cant see any .DNG files - my files are listed as either WP_20140101_10_00_00_Raw.jpg or WP_20140101_10_00_00_Pro.jpg..how do i set fully for .DNG images and where are they located on the phone ?
View 8 Replies View RelatedSo I know with 1020, if I simply share photos on to facebook, it will use the less quality 5MP photos, so I have to download the photos manually on my laptop via usb cord with the phone or from onedrive.. But would I have to download the videos from my phone or onedrive first before uploading on to facebook too, for the highest quality *with the smallest size possible? My videos are easily half a GB!

View 5 Replies View RelatedPerhaps i'm preaching to the converted,but since hi-res images do not show up as thumbnails,just as DNG files when looking at the files on the phone, using windows explorer,i decided to copy all the hi-res images to a new folder on the computer.On looking at the new folder in explorer, thumbnails where being shown, but with strange purple and green casts.I then decided to run all the images through Adobes DNG convertor,and lo and behold all the images where now normal,and easily viewable.

View 7 Replies View RelatedSometimes when the camera starts focusing to make a picture, it makes a really high pitched sound. It continues when the camera has focused until the picture is made. The sound certainly doesn't come from the speakers and isn't triggered by the phone itself but purely by the camera on the back, so it has to be something hardware related.
It isn't that big of a problem, the camera certainly isn't malfunctioning, but I was with a friend today who asked me what that sound was and I'm wondering as well, since it isn't supposed to produce sounds like that.
I'm considering purchasing a Lumia 1020, I'm looking for a little clarification on the camera.I've read that the full res images don't get uploaded to SkyDrive, this is pretty important to me, the main reason I like my existing Lumia is the auto-upload of images, and I don't have to plug in a USB cable.Is this correct, or do the full res images get uploaded. If it only works over WiFi, that's fine.

I use the windows phone app on my Mac but it when I delete all the images via the app it still shows that there is still images on the phone even though my camera roll on the actual phone shows no images. It's still showing 7GB worth of images on the windows phone app when the phone is connected to the app. I even deleted all media content and it still shows it.

After I connected it to a wi-fi it did multiple updates and now the windows version is 8.10.14226.359.An update in the Store was stuck and in another thread the restore factory defaults option was proposed, and so I did a factory reset after all the OS updates had taken place.After that I also updated all applications in the Store.The problem is, that only one Camera application is installed on the phone and I cannot find the NOKIA camera app which allows the 38 MP raw images to be captured. I searched the Store for the NOKIA camera app, but nothing came up.The question is how can I shoot 38 MPixel raw images in windows version 8.10.14226.359.

Turn skydrive off temporarily (Photos > Camera Roll > ... > skydrive settings > Don't upload).
Open Nokia Camera app.
Tap ...
Tap settings.
Tap Find photos and video shot with Nokia Camera.
Wait until the progress bar disappears.
Close Nokia Camera app.
Turn skydrive back to on.
But still i cant see my images in camera album..
I recently got myself the nokia lumia 1020 after seeing and hearing about the camera on it. Well, I'm disappointed with the photos after transferring them to my computer and I am wondering if I am only getting the 5 mp shots off of the phone. I have a mac, and so I downloaded the Windows Phone app onto the computer so that I can hook my phone up via USB and take the photos off. When I take them off, they are grainy when you zoom in a couple of times. They also only appear to be, on average, 2mb in size. It seems to me that the full sized photos would take up more space than that, or am I wrong?

However, when I actually hit the little red Office icon from my home screen, it takes me to "Office 365" and asks me to set up my account.
I enter the ____@live.com which is associated with my phone and handles all my purchases.
The message I get is;
"Something's wrong
We encountered a problem and couldn't complete this task."
Rebooting the phone doesn't seem to fix it.
I'm currently unable to access the store while on 3G on my 1020. I have to be on WiFi to even browse the store. I'm pretty sure I'm missing something simple here but I can't work it out.
View 2 Replies View RelatedAbout two weeks ago my Nokia 1020 suddenly stated giving me an error message when I clicked to synch my Yahoo mail account. It worked absolutely fine for over a year. I have made no changes to the phone OS nor added any new apps. I changed my password and then retried - still not able to get mail. All of my other email accounts are still working fine. I can get yahoo mail on my iPad just fine. I have deleted the account, rebooted the phone and created a new instance of Yahoo mail and still it does not get to mail.
