I am planning on taking my Lumia 1020 to use as a camera. I've since upgraded to the 1520, so it no longer has a SIM card installed in it. This may sound like a stupid question, but does the GPS and location tagging in photos work without an active service or Wi-Fi connected?

However, when I try to upload the pictures - I cant see any .DNG files - my files are listed as either WP_20140101_10_00_00_Raw.jpg or WP_20140101_10_00_00_Pro.jpg..how do i set fully for .DNG images and where are they located on the phone ?

I recently got a new E63 phone & am struggling to get my contacts right. The problem is the default contact location is phone memory and though i have copied the contacts to phone memory, if there is any incoming call or sms, the name doesnt appear even though i would have that persons contact stored.
Is there any way to change the default location to memory card? I go to Communication -> contacts -> Options -> Settings and the only option available is Phone & Contacts. Currently the default is phone. If i change to contacts, it asks for sign in. Kindly assist.
i have a lot of photos on my torch, so i bought a micro SD card to store them. all of my old photos that were uploaded from a curve 8330 and my computer are on the media card, but it seems every time i make a new folder, the pictures save to the device rather than the SD card. is there some way to make the media card the default location when you're saving pictures?

This software utilises the integrated GPS function of the X6, so the phone doesn't need to connect to the internet or use any data. In fact this function even works without a SIM card in the phone!I have now upgraded the X6 to a Lumia 710, however I cannot find any Location software built in.software that I can download so I can carry on Geocaching using Integarated GPS-(like on the X6) and not Assisted GPS-(where the phone uses the internet, and costs me money.)

I've tried master resetting phone, location services are on, battery and sim pull, no improvement. Checking for updates in phone menu, says phone is up to date, so no OTA available.
Then tried connecting to Zune on laptop, Zune can't see phone when plugged into USB, although Windows did download and install drivers. Uninstall Zune and re-install to try to fix, no improvement.Why does Nokia Drive work, but check in won't?
For a while now Microsoft weather will not update and says 'location cannot be detected' on 1520.3.Was beLocation settings are set correctly and permissions too.Have uninstalled and reinstalled.

View 5 Replies View RelatedWhen I launch Maps and press the circle button to zoom to my location, it will do so. It finds me within a few hundred feet. After this point, it has no idea where I am. The dot representing me on the maps will vanish, and if I press the locate button again, it will pop somewhere else within a couple of miles of me, and then realize that isn't right, and not change the circle locator button to green, or show a dot on the screen. I can press the locate button again and have this happen continuously.When using Nokia Drive Beta, it will use my correct location to plot a course, but then not follow me at all, so it constantly displays the first direction. It, too, seems to have no clue where I am.My commute takes me through country, city, and suburbs. I've tried placing the phone on the dash, in the cupholder, and just holding it. Previous phones (iPhone, android) have not had this issue over the same commute.
View 5 Replies View RelatedWP8 appears to completely lack the most basic Audiobook functioanlity. No seek/skip in audio or video? No bookmarking or remembering location in files?! I mean... I would like to see more advanced functionality specific to Audiobooks but these types of features are very useful for all sorts of media. The Nokia app doesn't even FFW or rewind through audio/video!
The Audible app is pretty great but I can't seem to figure out a way to use it to play any of the hundreds of older audiobooks I've created myself from my personal auiobook CD/Casette collection. I can't imagine what I'd do if I still needed to go through recorded lectures.
so if I have the 1520 plugged into my PC via USB and try to say, attach a bunch of files at one time to something (facebook, ebay for example) i get that error saying 'can't select multiple files from this location'
why is that? my old phones didn't have this issue (android) and I've never had any other device do this.
For some reason all of a sudden, my WP, Bing Maps, Facebook, has been showing my urrently location in Ohio, when I am in So Cal. However, when using Nokia Maps, it displays my location correctly.I have rebooted my phone, turned on and off location, but it still located me incorrectly. This is day 2 of this issue.

View 5 Replies View Relatediv been accessing my facebook the my BB 8520 as i want to maximize all the functions it offers. just some things i want to make clear about... first, whenver i would use Facebook places, the location pin just would not point at the exact place where i am even if i have added it by myself.. theres no funcition on ho to edit the mp so that itll point exactly ro where it is supposed to be.. nother thng, whenver i would upload pics from BB to facebook.. theres just no feature wherre i can tag pics to my friends.
