When I switch on the location, its icon is always on top of the screen even though I do no use any app. To see if something is running on the background, I already switched off all the background apps. In addition, I disable all the apps which can use my location. But still the icon is there.

View 5 Replies View RelatedOver the past couple of days I have had a progressively worsening problem where my screen acts as though it is being touched, but is not. It has become essentially unusable at this point though. I have tried restarting the phone multiple times, I have cleaned the screen. I looked for a recalibration of the touch screen, but that did not seem to exist. I'm worried that this is a sign that the phone is broken, despite the fact that it has been babied and has no signs of wear. This will be the 2nd Icon I have had break on me since release and I have NEVER had a phone die on me before. I'm annoyed to say the least..

View 10 Replies View RelatedSomewhere I saw this setting to put the ringer on silent when a call comes in. There is a toggle for it somewhere and now I can not find it. It allows you to mute a call ring by turning the phone screen down. Where that setting is? I looked in settings in the phone dialer and also in the ringer and sound settings....don't see it now. Im on denim.

Plugged it in via USB to try and do a Windows Phone recovery and the computer isn't even recognizing it. Weird thing is when I set the phone on a wireless charger the charger lights up like it is charging.

Unfortunately, the screen keeps timing out after a minute. I found under settings->lock screen that there's a setting for this. It looks like 5 minutes is as long as I can set this to. I was really hoping to have it stay on all the time while on the stand while I'm here at work. Especially with no glance or notification light,

It's a bug I guess, but I'm wondering if maybe it's because I have the brightness profile too low?
Between custom tile colors and sizes I think we as Windows Phone users have the best start screen options out there.
View 24 Replies View RelatedI just got my new Lumina 950 (I loved the Nokia 1020 so much I had to stay with Windows) but I cannot change the itty bitty font size on the home screen icons. I slid the text size bar all the way to 450%, which enlarged the right screen, but didn't change my home screen as much. I don't want to start wearing glasses just because of this phone, and I don't want to give up my windows phone.

I notice this with my Lumia Icon, but not with other Lumia Windows phones. I just want to be sure that this is normal, as I'm still within the return window with VZW. If I set the brightness to medium or high, whites lose their redish tint and look normal.

for some reason every few minutes i get the location icon flashing up in the top left of the notification bar. there is always the location icon on the right hand side which i believe is normal but i've never had the one on the left before.

I would expect it to let me toggle the viewing aspect on the map (i.e., north up, track up, etc). But when I push it nothing happens. Additionally, when I try to drag the map to see another area (always when I'm stopped, of course), the map immediately snaps back to my current position.

This software utilises the integrated GPS function of the X6, so the phone doesn't need to connect to the internet or use any data. In fact this function even works without a SIM card in the phone!I have now upgraded the X6 to a Lumia 710, however I cannot find any Location software built in.software that I can download so I can carry on Geocaching using Integarated GPS-(like on the X6) and not Assisted GPS-(where the phone uses the internet, and costs me money.)

View 1 Replies View RelatedSo when I try to use my "Me Tile" to check in at a location it just gives an error message "Can't Search We're having trouble searching for nearby places right now."
I've tried master resetting phone, location services are on, battery and sim pull, no improvement. Checking for updates in phone menu, says phone is up to date, so no OTA available.
Then tried connecting to Zune on laptop, Zune can't see phone when plugged into USB, although Windows did download and install drivers. Uninstall Zune and re-install to try to fix, no improvement.Why does Nokia Drive work, but check in won't?
I am planning on taking my Lumia 1020 to use as a camera. I've since upgraded to the 1520, so it no longer has a SIM card installed in it. This may sound like a stupid question, but does the GPS and location tagging in photos work without an active service or Wi-Fi connected?
