I've been "practicing" a bit taking pics in random enviorement and I noticed every pic I take in low light is blurry. I cant set focus manually cause the screen is almost black, the pics come out nice except theyre blurry. I dont have alzheimers so my hand dont shake and I tried many settings. How to make them okayish ?
So when I first got this phone it took great pictures. Then every now and then it started to make everything blurry no matter what I did to the settings. It seems like it takes pictures of close up things okay but anything else is hit or miss (more miss than anything). I use the pro cam app (The update today did not fix any of this). I just recently got the phone (Oct 7th or so).
My 1020 seems to have a problem when set to infinity focus...the pictures end up a bit blurry. The strange thing is that on autofocus the picture is perfectly sharp...which makes me think this is a software issue rather than hardware.
I uploaded 2 pictures to show you the issue. Both were taken on a tripod and 2 seconds self timer to avoid handshake. ISO was set at 100 and everything else left on auto except for focus mode.
I've had my Nokia Lumia 1020 for about a year, I believe. Just recently (within the last week), it has started taking blurry pictures. No matter what I do, the pictures are blurry. The farther away from the object I am, the blurrier they get. I know how to use my camera well, I have reset the settings on the camera app, done a soft reset on the phone, cleaned the lens, everything, but the pictures are still blurry.
I just got my 1020 yesterday after upgrading from my 920 and I know the screen isn't LCD but whenever I scroll the text gets blurry and whenever I scroll through Facebook the images get kinda blurry. Is this a defect or something I have to deal with due to the flaw in AMOLED screens?
I recently bought a Nokia 1020 and i suspect that there are something wrong with the camera. The quality of the photos that i take are, in my opinion, nowhere near the ones you can se in reviews and those released by Nokia.
To me it looks like it's only the middle part of every photo that is correctly focused. The edges are very blurry. I have no case on the phone, no dirt on the lens and i have tried to reset the camera and reboot, no difference.
I will attach some photos on which I think you can see it clearly. The images are very sharp in the middle but when you move towards the edges it quickly becomes blurry. Both pictures are taken in daylight with Nokia Pro Cam, all settings on auto.

Is this really normal, i can't recall that I have had these issues on point-and-shoot cameras?
I also noticed that there are a rattling sound when i shake the phone or put it down on a table. I know that the lens is suspended in a "ball-bearing" so this is normal if the camera app are closed, however I get this sound even when the camera app is open and the camera has locked focus. I'm pretty sure the sound is coming from the camera optics. Is this normal?
Yesterday I upgraded my phone from a Lumia 720 to a 1020 and everything is ok except it wont display pics/photos on Facebook or 6tag. Which is very annoying as this phone is meant to be the flagship phone and it cant or wont display pics.
I have a new 1020 camera, latest 8.1 developer preview, but can't generate DNG pics. With DNG setting, only small JPG is produced. How to confirm working DNG capability with OS 8.10.12393.890? If so, what are your firmware and hardware revision numbers?
I recently went and got the Nokia 1020 phone for the camera. I was really disappointed when I realized the pics that were viewed on the phone where only 5mp pics and that you had to hook it up to a computer to view the hi-res pics. Well I accidentally discovered a way to view the hi-res pics on the phone though you do still need to hook up to a pc. I was going to cut and paste the hi-res files to my pics folder when my hand slipped or had a spasm or something but whatever happened the next thing I know it was copying the pics back to the same folder on the phone. All the images said hi-res copy were you could see a preview like you can the low res images. So to verify I opened the camera roll on the phone and there they are both the low-res and hi-res of each pic. Well now if only we could do this without hooking up to a PC at all.
Lost my phone recently and now have a replacement. Kids are texting me pics of my grandchildren which I am unable to download. The latest text I got reads "Get media content now (174KB)" which is underlined as a link. I tap on the words and then get a message "Getting media content (174KB)". It shows that for a minute or two and then goes back to the first message. Is there something in the "settings" that is causing this problem?
I have just done some Post Processing Pics via Lightroom 4. I tried to transfer back the pics back to the phone via UBS cable, the phone registered the transfer as successful but I am able to open / even locate when I using the phone. The folders under Pics, Saved Pics all showed up empty without the Post Processed Pics.

It seems to have occurred recently and am wondering if it is related to the recent Nokia camera/beta camera updates. I'm running 8.1 DP but I don't believe I was having this issue before and I don't believe I have had any recent big falls or jolts to the phone that might cause mechanical problems and I believe the zoom works fine in still pictures.
Will like to check what are the photo-editing programs (free to download from the net) that you will recommend if you will like to do some post-processing of the full size image at 38MP via desktop/laptop.
So I recently just replaced my Lumia 1020 with another 1020 because it wasn't able to make or receive phone calls. When it did, it connected to 2G and wouldn't switch back to LTE. I just got my new 1020 yesterday but now the keys on the screen won't like up unless I cover the sensor new the ear piece. I don't want to have to do that every time I use my phone and I'd rather not do a hard reset since my other phone is still resetting as I type this (going on 17 hours).
I bought a Lumia 1020 because of the greatest pictures in low light. But I saw a video that made me really love it. The video was about the 920... And I thought: if the 920 can do, the 1020 also, and maybe better.Mine 1020 do nothing even close to this video at extreme low light.
Is there a guide to using the various camera apps on the Lumina 1020? Just got a 1020 to replace a broken 920. At first it had the Pro Camera app. Then I saw an email saying that the Smart Cam was replacing the Pro Cam app. However, the Smart Cam does not seem to work well in low light.
Whenever I try to take a picture in low light example of a candle or a bulb I see a dot in my field of view which moves as i move my phone. It becomes worse when I try to capture multiple lights say for example an array of LEDs. It is very irritating to find something like this on snaps taken by such a good camera phone. What can be done about it? As you can see in images attached just above the switch board on wall in 1st and 3rd image and on edge of cupboard in a close up shot in 2nd image.
I purchased my 1020 yesterday ... My battery would go from 92% to 46% in 1 hr 30 mins with light usage, I have glance off, background tasks off, brightness is low, bluetooth off, nfc off. Should i return my phone?
I just replaced my screen on my Nokia Lumia 1020. And now the screen is just black, but when i put into a charger there's a green light at the bottom of the screen.
My friend is having a problem with his Lumia 1020 when taking low light outdoor pictures with flash on.
He says that everything is fine during the day and when he is taking indoor low light pictures with the flash, but as soon as he take outdoor picture he is getting some kind of red blur in the top center of the photo, he sent me two examples:
His phone is on 8.1 and he is not sure is it software or hardware related.
Has anyone else noticed this?Apple seems to have exchanged all pictures showing FaceTime with new ones that are blurry and pixelated. The first pic is from http://apple.com and the second one is the equivalent from http://apple.com/de where this change hasn't happened yet:The pictures have also been changed on the sub pages and basically everywhere FaceTime is shown.
When uploading my pics for my contacts, (doesn't matter if they're taken from FB or taken with camera), they upload blurry/compressed.
I spent 4.5/hours with customer service agents from Verizon to Motorola. They concluded I needed to exchange my brand new phone after a factory reset and several "cache and data clearings" did not work.
The new phone is doing the exact same thing. I thought I could just deal with the contacts being blurred, until I tried to upload a profile pic onto Skype & I couldn't make it out.
Factory reset does not work for this. Nor does clearing the cache/data.
I have a BB 3G 9330 Curve, only got it about a mth ago. Was on vacation and accidentally let battery completely die, well once charged and restarted my screen is way too light! It looks like all my words are light grey instead of black, the photo's look like there faded out...they arn't though bc I've posted some of my photo's on FB and they are normal colored. Texts are too light to read unless I scroll over them.
On my 1520, at times the calendar and messaging app keypad will go to a light color and becomes blurry. Sometime it comes and goes. Sometimes I have to reset it. Sometimes I have to reset it multiple times to make it go away.
So today I went to take some pictures on my 1520 and they all came out blurry. Verifying my phone I discovered that the camera is at fault shaking drastically. I can see from the rear of the phone that when I activate the camera in any app that uses it, it start jumping all around as if the electronic stabilization has gone bad. I did a restart with no luck. I do have a 2 year warrantee with the ms store so it wont be a problem to exchange. But I just don't want to have to redownload everything again.
So I got my Icon over the weekend and I've been playing around with it and I have a few questions about the camera settings. I was taking some pictures, and noticed that sometimes they were a bit blurry/not focused. I cannot tell if its me or the camera. Also, when I zoom in on the pictures, I feel that it looks more grainy than they should.
Also, side note - has power, volume and camera button feel slightly wiggly/loose? I noticed the side buttons on my Icon are not as firm as they were on my 928.
