View 1 RepliesI have recently updated my Z3 (D6603) to Android 5.1.1 by OTA update. After the update I appear to have a weird encryption issue. My phone was encrypted before I updated.
I have a device policy that needs my phone to be encrypted. I am getting en error via the status bar saying 'Device encryption required'. When I click this it takes me to the device policy app where I am unable to do anything re encryption.
So I had a look in the security settings and it shows my phone as encrypted. So I thought it would be best to decrypt the phone and then re-encrypt it. However when I click the 'Encrypt phone' setting nothing happens, the menu just stays where it is.
I have restarted my phone and cleared the cache just in case, but the problems persists.
I cannot seem to find where and how to turn on the device memory encryption on E7-00? Does this even have the feature? Former E series devices used to have 128 bit AES encryption with ability to export the key. Security code and/or remote locking is not enough, I NEED the proper encryption like in my previous E75.
View 7 Replies View RelatedI have enabled the encryption feature on my phone's internal storage, and it seems to work well. However, it is working too well for me. I can't seem to access any of my data from my PC via USB. It all looks fine from the phone itself but I can't figure out how to pull the data in unencrypted form from the phone over to the PC.

I'm at the restore stage and now it's stalled with a message saying "Device Encryption is Turned On. Your Blackberry Device is currently locked. To continue unlock your device". I've turned off encryption on the device, but the latop is frozen on the error message and I can't seem to move to any other screen in the update mode. Anyway able to offer a solution?

how to share internet connection from pc to iphone by using USB cable? It is called reverse tethering I guess. I heard that it was implemented in iphone 3G/3GS and apple removed the feature.I heard the rumors that is because apple wants people to use iphone as the primary device and computer as secondary device. For the people like me, we really need reversed tethering because working with desktop computers and Ethernet cable is the only option to internet and those desktops don't have wifi.

I've just got a Torch 9800 as a gift from my wife to replace my old BB Curve 8520. I love my new BB, but there's a problem and I can't seem to fix it.The phone is always on reverse contrast...so, to actually see the screen the normal way I have to activate the reverse contrast option. But still, the videos and photos look reverse. I upgraded the OS but still, its like if the BB was configure from the start to be with reverse contrast.
View 1 Replies View RelatedHow can I the Xperia Z2 use the Internet connection provided by a PC through USB cable? WiFi is not an option, would prefer not to install any apps on the mobile since all which I have found were asking for rooting the device. It's very surprising that it's not in the settings by defualt. It can be easily set on other devices (e.g. HTC), and the regular tethering (using the phone's internet connection for the PC) can be set on the phone as well.
Further I wonder why are the options in Settings on Xperia Z2 so limited? No manipulation for the USB connection, no developer's setting, why?
I am new to the iphone and have only had mine about a week. All app screens appear to be in reverse colors; sort of like a picture negative. I can't find any place in settings to make the screens look normal. Has anyone else had this problem and what was your solution?

I just had my screen replaced on my Torch. Since getting it back, everything appears as if it is in Reverse Contrast but i have it set on Normal. I have done a Wipe, Battery Pull and it is still this way. Currently, i have it set on Reverse Constrast so i can at least see my home screen in normal colors but all media is still in Reverse Contrast.
View 9 Replies View RelatedIs it possible to change the font/background colours on detail screens like Contacts, Settings, etc, so font colour = White, and background colour = Black, on Samsung touchscreen phones like the Corby, Mythic, Forever, Impact, etc.? LG allows this on some phones by switching the built-in themes, but I have not seen this on the Samsung.

If hotmail can comunicate with the phone to load mail, why won't it comunicate with the phone to delete mail?

This is something, which has always bugged me. I go to import a dozen photos from my iphone into Aperture, and the photos are loaded from earliest to latest into the Aperture import screen. The problem with this is that I have 3k pics on my iphone (I know a lot, but I like the timeline). This requires me to wait 2 or 3 minutes before the latest pics load.
Is there a way to reverse the import order, so that the latest pics appear first?

HTC has enabled a reverse tethering feature called Internet Passthrough that allows unrooted smartphones to use the internet connections of standard computers -- via a USB cable connection.
Can we ever expect Motorola to provide the same functionality?

View 6 Replies View RelatedI have two issues about the E72:
1. My E72 came with a 4GB microSD card with OVI Maps installed on it. Unfortunately there are only 1023 MB free out of 4GB, so I planned to buy a bigger card. I would like toi know if I can simply copy all the data from the opriginal 4GB card to the new one? Will the applications still work?
2. If I enable phone memory encryption in my phone, some applications stop working, i.e. OVI Maps does not work anymore, OVI Store stops working. I have to disable the phone memory encryption in order applications restart working. Is there a way to havbe phone memory enabled and still have the applications working fine?
I've a galaxy s6 with stock rom. I've rooted my device and I like to encrypt my device. But when I do so, it stuck on the encryption screen for 1 day. When rebooting, the device tell me to wipe the phone because of a failure of encryption.
View 2 Replies View RelatedSetting up card encryption goes through the motions but appears to instantly encrypt the card! Given memory encryption takes a few minutes, it looks like nothing actually happens. Indeed, trying to decrypt the card doesn't do anything! Haven't yet tried to read the card in another device, but I suspect it isn't. Other reportson the net concur with this. Given that encryption was one of the main reasons for looking at this phone, this is a bit of an issue.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI just realized something interesting with my E72 - people can access my data even without knowing the password.Details are as follows:
-E72 firmware 022.007. Both memory and MicroSD card are encrypted. Phone set to auto-lock at every 20 minutes.I have an alternate home screen application installed (Voyager Home Screen) and just noticed that possible to invoke Voyager even after the phone has been "locked" (encrypted). Using Voyager I can load up any file management tool, for instance X-Plorer and access the card and any files. All one has to to is unlock the keyboard, there is no need to know the lock code or input it.Perhaps this has something to do with the way Voyager Home Screen works but it made me realize that perhaps the data isn't secure at all.even with encryption.
