I'm trying to silence just the ringtone but when ever I do that on the sound menu it silences all other noises such as notifications and system sounds. Is there any way I can just make it to silence the ringtone but leave all the other sounds? Besides just using a silent ringtone?
View 7 RepliesI've just got a new S6 and I cannot work out how to turn off the alert sounds when a new app asks if I want to install it. I've got the sound muted on the phone, but I still get the alerts sound every time an app is coming up.
View 2 Replies View RelatedYou know how pushing the power button silences the ringer when someone calls and you don't even have to pull your phone out. It would be nice if you could do that with the notifications also, like text and email etc. Cause sometimes I can't just get my phone out cause I'm doing something or have my hands full and so on. It should be like that with all of the sound where you can just hit the power button to silence the ringer on everything.

Since I'm in the middle of a conversion I'd like to just reach into my pocket, hit one of the buttons and stop the ringtone/notification from playing. This doesn't seem to work out of the box. I'm a bit new to android phones (finally got fed up with iPhone) so I know there is probably an app or setting that will let me do this, but I can't find it.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI just bought my Samsung galaxy s6 edge 5 days ago it's been working fine up until today. When I received a text message it didn't make the sound so I thought my phone was on vibrate or silent but it wasn't so then I went to settings and checked my notification setting and when I clicked the sound it didn't make a sound. So then I checked if I could hear the ringtone and I also couldn't hear. Mind you the volume is all the way up. So I decided to restart my phone and the sound worked gain but after a while the sound went away again and idk what is causing it.

Randomly, my default ring tone, messenger notification, or gmail notification will change, either to no tone, or just a single repeating beep. When I check the settings, the selected sound ends up being a 5 digit number. For example, my messenger tone is now 53918, no sound plays. Annoyingly for messanger, it will change the notification for all my conversations to 53918. So even if I change the default, all active conversations keep the "number sound."

Does that mean even mp3's that you already have like I do? How do I make these 3 work as Ringtone, Alarm and Alert on iPhone 4? NOTE: I don't actually have the phone yet and do not know how it interacts with iTunes, but I do have iTunes setup and music/movies loaded into it.

My phone will vibrate, but does not audibly ring. The silent switch is not set, If i go into the settings menu, the ringer menu files are missing.
All other sounds work flawlessly, music plays, keyboard clicks away and voicemail, and text alerts come through, it's just the ringer that's problematic.

Since yesterday my iPhone stopped making sounds from alerts and clicks from the keyboard but I know the speakers work because when I go to Settings-Sounds and I move the volume bar it rings. I'm already sure that the Lock sounds, Keyboard clicks and alerts are ON, but still doesn't work. Also, when I try to turn up the volume with the volume buttons on the iPhone it doesn't work. It shows the ringer icon but with no volume bars. I already cleaned all the dust in the dock connector and in the headset jack. Also tried plug and unplug the headphones, still not working.
I didn't drop the iPhone, neither spilled anything on it. It just suddenly stop working correctly.
I already restored the iOS 5.1 software but didn't work. It only works with the headset.

If not is there anywhere I can download music from that saves it in the music folder? I asked a guy in Carphone Warehouse and he showed me a site that turned out to be an illegal download site which I would rather not use.
