Since I did the last update, every time I use my phone it asks for city, state or zip before I can use it. I went into verizon and they basically said tough luck...if you don't leave location on, it will do that for ever.

View 3 Replies View RelatedSo, I just bought a JB'en iphone 3g tonight.Went ahead and unlocked it using ultrasn0w.Connected it to my mac/itunes, and it asks "an iphone has been previously synced with this computer. setup as a new iphone -or- restore the backup of ***"So, since I had purchased apps using my *** phone (actually was an ipod touch that i got rid of), I'm thinking that I should restore the backup so that I can get my paid apps back for free.
Questions:
-will restoring this backup to the new unlocked phone restore it to its original locked state (i.e. will i have to re-jailbreak/unlock)? or will it simply restore preferences, etc...?
-otherwise, if i call this phone a new name, is there a way to transfer my purchased apps to the new phone's account?

View 24 Replies View RelatedI kept getting the City ID prompt to download software on my LG Chocolate Touch phone everytime my phone rang/was picked up/received text msgs/etc./listen to music/alarm went off...IT WAS REALLY PISSING ME OFF..My only choices were to download "NOW" or "LATER".I couldn't find the "NEVER EVER EVER" button.I looked for a place to remove it but couldn't find any option to delete.It was driving me CraZy so I finally had Verizon reprogram /software reset my phone.I was at the point that I didn't care if I lost my contacts/ presets/ pictures/ videos/programs/everything on my phone as long as it got rid of the nagging download "NOW" or "LATER" prompt.
Then I went to Media Center | Browse & Download(You will see the City ID application with a little flower next to it.)Click the flower button for options.You will get a message indicating you haven't started trial yet and now you can Click REMOVE
How can I change the default city in my calendar?

Question to the engineers at Apple Why can't we add city's to calendars and world clocks that are not already there? When I try and add a city...oh like Sacramento, the Capital of California it's not there. Yes I know I can add another city that is close to there but it seems weird that capitol of the state the Apple Corp is from is not listed. Why can't we just add city's by zip codes? Maybe in an update!?

I found out (more than a year ago) that Egypt map lacks a big city, it's called "Melawi", its name is just on the road: "Bany Sewaif-Dairot street" BUT NO STREET NAMES!!I waited for map updates, and every time I update the map data, I see nothing changed!My map version 0.2.46.103 By the way, when Nokia releases new map versions, please include change log / release notes.

I was able to go in and ad my city to the list bit when I am on the main screen it still shows the other city. I do not see any place to delete this city but I can delete my city if I wanted to. I am thinking that maybe I missed something while I was setting up the phone itself?

It loads about half way and then I get an error message that says attention required tap here. I've tried to download it several times and it still won't load. All other apps will load though.
View 3 Replies View RelatedFirstly, I want to state how extremely impressed I am with the Amaze, both in its construction quality, its wonderful screen, very good normal use battery life, and its generally sophisticated and flawless operation. I am very satisfied with my choice.One of the very few problems I have had, is that occasionally, whilst still in city zones with good service, the phone will lose cellular signal, then run the battery flat much more rapidly than usual whilst trying to re-establish service. My first indication of the problem is when I find the phone dead, when it should still have say 80% charge. Remedy is to switch off & pull battery
Has anyone had similar experience?I recommend an audible warning when cellular service is lost, so that user can take remedial action before battery goes flat, and so that important incoming calls are not lost. This should be an easily programmable feature for next update.

View 6 Replies View Relatedi am trying to play cityville on the samsung galaxy sii using the stock internet browser. i can open facebook without any problems but when i click on the cityville link, the loading bar at the top just keeps refreshing every time it gets to the end and the page doesn't ever seem to load. there are android cityville apps but you can't use them to play the actual game, just check and collect bonuses.

Since charging it and turning it back on, it does not work!To begin with, every time I turned it on, I would press buttons and nothing happened. One time I turned it on and it asked me to enter the time and date (impossible since pressing anything didn't work). I have now learnt that I can get away with using the keypad for a while after turning it on, but if I should happen to touch the screen, it either goes back to its unresponsive, stalling, state, or it tells me that there is a system error. I am running firmware 21.0.45.

View 1 Replies View RelatedAfter reading several threads concerning the build quality of the handsets made on Canada and Mexico, When I received my replacement handset and found that it was made in Canada (on 16 Jan 2010) I set about to finding faults in it. (I have always had a phone made in Hungry) I pressed the damn thing all over, shook it, tested the buttons and eventually FOUND that the track pad was raised at the top. Looking at it further, I discovered that what I thought was the raised bit was the ridge where the hosing meets the screen and the track pad is completely sound and flush.
Although I started (because I was convinced that Canadian and Mexican handset have inherent faults) (and my apologies to All the Canadian and Mexican people), I discovered that this handset is better than the one I had before (which was made in Hungry).Apart from everything being solid, the keypad is slightly different (in my opinion) then my old handset. The raised bits (or ridges) on each key are more prominent so when I move my finger or thumb, Iknow I am on a different key thus avoiding the typing mistakes.
I just wanted to share this because I am sure we all get influenced by what we read and although I am sure that there are some poorly build handsets out there, our starting point should be that the phone is fine, and then deal with anything else that transpires.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI just bough the Torch 9860 and already replaced another one for the same problem, and since this second have the same problem, I think it is a general problem. Well the thing is that while the phone is in 3G coverage, it sometimes goes to like a "blocked" state. By this, I mean that the phone states as connected to the network and with full signal, but call wouldn't go out nor in, data is also not available, and the most important thing is that the phone doesn't show any signs of disconnection nor anything problem alike. Up until now, I have only seen this happening while in 3G coverage, and when this problem occurs, I switch the phone to 2G only and starts working fine again.

In the Phone status menu, I see a potential problem in that the Mobile Network state is set to "disconnected". View 3 Replies View Relatedafter purchasing a charm with motoblur last week, i was able to set up my motoblur account through wi-fi, send and receive messages as tests to make sure the phone was working through providers at&t and t-mobile (because i had unlocked and inserted an existing british simcard on the network "3"). i opted to not enter the browser/marketplace due to the price of roaming abroad.after travelling back to the uk today, i was able to make a couple of calls and around twenty sms's with no problems whatsoever, but as i was not roaming abroad any more, i tried the browser, marketplace, maps and Internet. none of these worked due to the network state being disconnected, despite being connected to the provider "3" (found going through settings>status>network connection state: disconnected). thus when returning home, i hunted around the internet on the computer to find a way for browsing to return, just in case i'd by accident declined something earlier in the week. i came upon the "master reset / factory data reset" page on the website: https://motorola-global-portal.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/49373/~/charm---master-reset-%2f-factory-data-reset
after following these instructions, the phone reset. ok. then, when going back through the welcome/getting started intro to the phone, there was still a failure of network connection, and any wi-fi connections with the correct password entered always ended in "wrong password entered," or it ignored the previous password and a vicious circle of correct password after correct password began.
I have a completely standard xoom and noticed that its getting really warm even when in idle. It started happening last week. I thaught it might be an app I downloaded so uninstalled all new apps. Still getting warm and bad battery performance. So I done a full factory reset and still getting the issue.
