Screen turning off when blocking the front sensor next to the front camera? I had my G3 for 6 days and I started to notice today that every time my finger hovers over that sensor the screen will turn off.
View 5 RepliesI have an LG G3 and every time I am on the lock screen and I cover the sensors (I think it is called the ambient light sensor or proximity I am not sure) the screen turns off, even if I use the physical power button and not double tap to wake. It makes it difficult to use while in an arm band case, also when trying to check it while keeping it inside my back pack since it keeps going off until I take it out and unlock it.

It should turn it off only when I hold it up against my ear.This is verry annoying as I cannot get to the incall screen at all, not even to disconnect the call. I have a One S, about a month old. Since practically new I've noticed that when I make a call and use speaker phone the proximity sensor (dull rapidly flashing red light) turns on but doesn't function during a call, when the call is ended the proximity sensor is still turned on until I either restart the phone or make a call without speakerphone and end it. Making a call without speaker phone the proximity sensor functions correctly and turns off when the call is ended.
I have asked HTC support about this, they have recommended clearing cache partition through boot menu and clearing HTC sense app data, neither have worked and they are now suggesting the phone be sent for repair. Would you agree that this could be a hardware issue or is it more likely a software issue since proximity sensor functions normally unless the speaker phone is used?
i tried to use the front camera and i suddenly notices that it intermittently flicker until finally it turns black...but when i shift it to the rear camera it seems ok. i dont knw what to do

I've just bought a 5230 and I'm really annoyed that I don't have the functionality my E51 had where if it was really dark the screen would dim down. This is an important thing to me since I tend to read at night and I dislike having to go all the way to settings and so on.
Do you know any piece of software that could change screen brightness based on the light sensor readings?I'm just amazed the phone software doesn't do that on its own but hey s60v5 is worse than s60v3...
Over the last 3 days ive noticed my phone using a lot more battery than it usually does, i can usually get upto 2 days battery usage when its used frequently, but it has been getting less than a day over the last 3 days.
I turned the phone off with the power button and tried to turn it on again, The instant i press the power button the screen turns on (stays black but becomes a dark grey with the backlight) for about 30 seconds, but nothing else happens, the screen turns off after those 30 seconds and its back to square 1.I have tried turning it on again without a sim card, or memory card, or both and still the same result
When I listen to music, the camera doesn't open from the blocking screen. There is a black screen and when I press the home button, come back to the blocking screen. iPhone 6; iOS 8.1.1.

I'm having difficulty updating my nokia N97 software to the latest version; as the current one on my phone is version v20.0.019. My phone's screen keeps blacking out and to restore the front screen applications I have to keep switching it off then back on again. I've been to the nokia dealer with this issue but they sent me back home and suggested I keep trying the update. I've been trying this but the nokia software installer in my computer suggests it cannot find my mobile when connected through the usb cable (even though my pc detects the connection). I dont know what I'm doing wrong, can someone suggest something else and also what is the latest version I can get?

Since a cadence sensor just counts how often the magnet passes by it then I guess they are the same as speed sensor.What would be the steps to complete this? or are the profiles baked in the firmware of the sensors and there's no way for the Motoactv to profile it as a different type of sensor?

It is infrared, so you can only tell if you use another camera or phone look at it. it is easy to test, just look proximity sensor with another camera or phone camera (that can see infrared, can be test with your TV remote)....

However my wife bought the Atrix2 and she says the screen shuts off on her when the she touches the screen. It is not a timeout setting either. View 13 Replies View RelatedThis is my second Razr. I noticed from the beginning that this unit is much "tighter" than my previous one. The power button and volume rocker don't wobble at all and sit tight. Now, when I was browsing a lot of heavy flash web sites last night in landscape mode, I hit home button and the screen rotated to portrait, so I rotated the phone as well. Then I go into Apps and the screen flips back to landscape even though I hold it vertically.
Hit home portrait mode, hit browser and it turns to landscape by itself. Holding the phone in portrait I unchecked the Auto-rotate, and the browser is back to portrait, check the A-R box and goes back to landscape. Reboot the phone and its fine. Long story short I can somewhat reproduce it when I make the phone warm up in landscape mode. Anyway the "tightness" of the phone stops gyro from rotating when the unit heats up?
my Curve a symbol has come up on the front screen next to where new e-mail and message symbols come up. It is yellow circle with white lines crossing over within it. First it started with the number 1 next to it, now it has the number 2 there!
