If the screen is on, but before unlock, proximity sensor is on as well. It will turn off only after unlock the screen to home screen.
Will it cause battery drain and infrared light burned out/dead after being *"ON" all the time?
It is infrared, so you can only tell if you use another camera or phone look at it. it is easy to test, just look proximity sensor with another camera or phone camera (that can see infrared, can be test with your TV remote)....
Issue with the proximity sensor shutting the screen off when you're about to key something in or multi task while on a call? The phone keeps shutting the screen off while I'm on call. This usually happens when I have to use the phone to search for something or enter in a number, multi task, enter extension ...
View 7 Replies View RelatedWhen talking on the screen are activated any keys - the media, the button to turn off the microphone. Sometimes when you dial and put the phone to the ear he cut off talks. Proximity sensor works and the screen fades to where my ear. I do not know how to obtain it but it is very nasty. Version of software after the update is 30.0.003 but the problem remained.
View 1 Replies View Related So I cracked my phone a while ago, had the screen replaced at a local place and the screen looks fine, the phone functions almost 100% perfectly.
The thing that bugs me is that the phone seems to have the proximity sensor always on. When I answer a call, the screen turns black, and I am unable to turn the screen on until the call ends. I would rather just have the proximity sensor completely off. I just want my screen to be on when I'm on calls, or at least able to turn on with the power button.
I accidentally dial a number and the entire phone locks, I cannot end the call and I cannot do a hard reset.
I really do not want to learn how to live with this sensor. I would just like to switch it off.
I have noticed that when I start a call and put the phone to my head (or hand above the sensor) that the screen stays on. I do know that the phone's "pocket mode" works, which tells me that the proximity sensor is functioning. Faulty or non-existant software for the phone app?
View 5 Replies View RelatedAfter dialing a number the screen goes off immediately. I have press the unlock button several times to get it on. Even when i haven't put it up to ear. The light sensor is working.

View 9 Replies View RelatedMy problem is that when starting calls I put the phone to my ear and it is muted. The other end hears me, but I dont hear them. This happens most of the time, but not always.I have tested the proximity sensor and the test is OK most of the time and across most of the screen. But since this is creating such frustration, with customers loosing me on the phone, I just want the phone to work as it does on my old HTC Touch Pro:When starting a call the screen automatically goes blank and I cannot accidentally touch the mute button or anything else. Can I do this on my X10 Mini Pro?Alternatively, can I move the mute button to somewhere else on the screen or remove it entirely?

View 9 Replies View RelatedProximity sensor in my lumia 920 turns the screen off even when i am holding the phone in my hand and am looking at it. It should turn it off only when I hold it up against my ear. This is verry annoying as I cannot get to the incall screen at all, not even to disconnect the call. I have to wait till the other party hangs up so that my screen can return back.
View 7 Replies View RelatedI can't seem to get my screen to turn off during phone calls on this phone. Is there a proximity sensor setting I'm missing or is this a bug?
View 13 Replies View RelatedDuring outgoing calls, the screen rarely, if ever, turns off due to the proximity sensor - I need to manually do it using the screen lock button. However, with incoming calls, the screen turns off fine (due to the proximity sensor). For both incoming and outgoing calls, it is often impossible to get the screen to light again once it is off.Initially I thought my proximity sensor might be faulty, but the proximity sensor works perfectly in the diagnostics app. So it seems to be a software issue.

But, when I close the cover fully, it turns back on.The apps I tried was Gravity Screen, Auto Screen On Off and Smart Cover Lite.

View 7 Replies View RelatedGetting used to the new look with lollipop but ever since the upgrade my screen goes black and doesn't respond at all during a phone call. Have tried pressing all the buttons but always have to wait until the call ends. This makes it worthless during calls, especially if there is an automated system. The only time it does work is when using Bluetooth.

My phone no longer goes black when I put it up to my ear to talk on the phone. What could the problem be?
View 3 Replies View RelatedMy problem is the screen goes blank when making a call and does not wake up. I cannot therefore use the keypad or terminate a call.I replaced the screen a while back and everything worked fine for 5 months until now.I am looking to disable the proximity sensor as it does not work so the screen is then on all the time when making a call.I have not been able to do it through settings so is there an app that would do the trick.Model is D855
View 6 Replies View RelatedWhen talking on my iphone4, I continually push buttons on my phone with my face.I've learned it,s a problem with the proximity sensor. Is there a fix for this problem.
Info:
iPhone 4, iOS 5.1
Noticing someting wierd with my new iPhone 4 - the proximity sensor doesn't seem to work well (or at all..)When the phone is up against my ear or if I'm cradling the phone between my ear and shoulder the proximity sensor should disable the screen and touch controls until it detects that I've pulled the phone away from my head. My iPhone 3G excelled at this. My iPhone 4 however seems to want to keep the screen on at all times, causing "cheek dialing" issues, mostly trying to initiate FaceTime.
Anyone else experiencing this?
