My phone recognizes that I have an SD card inserted but when I go in to back up it says I don't have an SD card in my phone and only gives me the option of internal storage to back up to which would be wiped with a factory reset.

I purchased my Motorola Droid in November 2009 at a Verizon store. They created a Gmail account for me but I don't know the password. I've never accessed this Gmail account from any other device aside from this Droid. Now my phone died and I can't get my data, specifically my contacts off this phone.
I was able to take out the SD card and back that up. I've tried going thru the normal Gmail steps to recover the password but that has not been successful. The next option is to get this phone repaired. The screen has died on this phone and want to know if it can be repaired. I would like advice on either or both of these options.
If there is an easier way to recover my contacts off this phone / Gmail contacts,
Just received my refurbished DX to hopefully work better than my current one which has been a pain since the Gingerbread update. I have quite a few apps installed on my SD card that didn't make it through the lame VZ backup. Do I have to reinstall them from the market or is there a way to just have them recognized?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a Sprint S5 running stock Lollipop. I have moved any apps that can be to the SD card. Anytime those apps are updated, they move back to the device storage. I got this phone shortly before Sprint pushed the Lollipop update so I cannot say for sure if I was having this issue prior to Lollipop.
View 24 Replies View Relatedi have a nokia 5530 xm. i had some corrupted music files in my music library so i made a back up-file on the computer and erased everything on the memorycard.Then i loaded all the stuff back on the memorycard. But then almost all my apps were gone, so i tried to download them again. But i can't click the 'download' button (it's dark gray, like if you've already clicked it) so i think the ovi store remembers that i have downloaded the apps before and it's like i have got them on my phone but i have checked all the installed apps and all the installation files in the application manager but they aren't there.

Ive been using the Sensation since more than two weeks now.... At first it was perfectly fine but now Im having problems with the auto rotate... When i tilt the phone it does go to the Landscape mode however when i tilt it back it fails to go back to portrait.... Its getting a little annoying now so is anyone facing the same problem?

View 9 Replies View RelatedAround a week ago I used a friends 'selfie stick'. The same day I was walking around Windsor and noted that the phone had powered down. I tried pressing the power key, but the phone did not turn on. I took the battery out, replaced it and then the phone came back on.
The problem now seems to reoccur when I have put my phone in my back pocket and either walk some distance, or keep it in my back pocket in the car (for some reason).
I have a concern at how well the new iPhone 4 will feel in the hand. I have a first generation Touch, that has a flat back and it's harder to comfortably hold in my hand compared to the rounded back of my iPhone 3G. I never thought the rounded back would make that much of a difference, but it does. Any thoughts?

However after restore I find that all the BBM contacts, Bookmarks and Auto-text was not restored.I had spent a lot of time in making all the Auto text relevant to me. I tried to download a ringtone and my phone then told me it needed to restore because of the updates. I transferred my purchases over but stupidly didn't make a back up. After restorting I realised the most recent back up I had was for April. So I used that back up. However does anybody know whether it is possible, in any way, for me to get my phone restored back to just before it decided to restore. I've tried looking through the forums but have had no luck.

I did not know my media files were saved on my SD card. I thought they were saved on my device.
In the options, under Memory, it says Media Card cannot be read. Verify that the memory card has been formatted.
First I took the memory SD mini card 8G out and put it back in.
Still same message.
So then I went to Format and formatted it...as it asked me to do.
Error message came up. Saying Format Failed.
However all my files are gone.
I am so mad that my blackberry told me to ensure it was formatted. Everything is gone off my BB.
Is there a way to recover this data?
I haven't backed up my BB before.

I've downloaded some apps and themes and I want to make sure they get transferred to the new card. I tried doing a full backup and restore using Ovi Suite and some of the downloaded apps made it and some didn't. I tried to re-download some of them from Ovi Store but Ovi Store seemed to think they were still there and wouldn't let me download them again. Is it as simple as copying the contents of the old card to the new card?

Now my main problem is that i have forgot my card password I have some data on it that is real important to me has sentimental valor (hope my spelling is ok)is there a way for me to reset the password without formating the memory card ?I'm desperate ! what should i do ?
I recently lost my SD card to my blackberry 9810 and am attempting to restore the files onto a new SD card to a computer. I had automatic backups set up from the Blackberry desktop manager and Blackberry protect. I was under the assumption that these backups also backed up information on the SD card. Unfortunatley, when I tried to restore my phone using a blackberry desktop no old files where restored to my new SD card.I have read an old post that says the automatic backups do not backup SD card documents but am unsure if that is still true.Is there anyway I could restore the files using the backups?

I added a 128Gb class 10 PNY SD card and it mounted perfectly, copied over about 40Gb of data and all was well.
A while later a message popped up on the screen "SD card removed unexpectedly. It can be damaged. Always unmount SD card before removing it."
I am unable to access the SD card via the phone in any manner, if I remove the card and put it in a USB micro-SD adapter and plug it into my laptop it mounts just fine and I can access all of the data. I have run Windows check disk against the SD card an no issues were found. The phone is still unable to mount/read the card.
I went as far as to remove the partition from the SD card and reinstalled it back in the phone, it was then detected and the phone auto-formatted it, and then I was able to copy my data back onto the device... and about 10 minutes later the same error popped up "SD card unexpectedly..."
I have a second identical SD card, I tried using it and the same exact problem happened.
