View 12 Replies View RelatedI recently purchased a 64GB SIM card for my Samsung S5 as I've ran out of space on my phone storage.
However, I am trying to use the "move to SD Card" for each app inside the application manager. However, that option is greyed out.
How I can resolve this? The SD card storage is not useful if I can't move apps to it.
I had a sandisk SD card. Moved picture folders from device to SD card and LOST a ton of them. Read online I needed an official Samsung SD card so I bought one. Put it in yesterday and transferred pics over - so far so good.
Moved apps over to SD card using recommendations I read online, by going into device manager and now the apps are greyed out. They eventually work when you click them but their main icon isn't showing. Widgets I once had on home screens are also gone for those apps moved to SD card.

I've just installed the app 2 SD which moves your moveable apps to SD card. When I moved them to SD, went back to external SD and they don't appear to be there?
I've moved them manually by manage applications? Move to SD and I still can't see them?
Also I've created a folder on my SD card called "Camera" for my pics and videos. Set storage for camera to be on memory card. When I take a pic it saves pics and vids under DCIM in the external SD card. Is there no way to save pictures OTHER THAN DCIM? Even rename it won't work?
im having problems in installing apps and files for my phone because of the low amount of memory in my phone storage...

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have a Sprint S5 running stock Lollipop. I have moved any apps that can be to the SD card. Anytime those apps are updated, they move back to the device storage. I got this phone shortly before Sprint pushed the Lollipop update so I cannot say for sure if I was having this issue prior to Lollipop.

So as the subject says, somehow my internal storage moved to a different location in my phone. It moved from storage/emulated/0 to data/media/0 somehow. I don't know how but now my apps and file managers are unable to access my internal storage and I am unable to download anything from my browser. My nexus 5 is rooted with Android 6.0 and has experimentalx kernel with xposed. Other than that, my nexus 5 is stock. I tried using root browser and solid browser to move my internal storage back to the correct place but that just gives me an error. I also tried using Android commander to move my storage using my pc but it's giving me permission denied. So I don't know what to do.

View 1 Replies View RelatedIn my quest to transfer my apps from internal phone storage to my SD CCard I discovered that Motorola refers to (or is it Android) to your SD card as 'media storage'. In an attempt to use the 'Manage Apps' feature and selecting 'Media area' I see apps with check marks and those without. I thought that the ones with checkmarks are those already on the SD Card and those without are those that are not on the SD Card, but might be able to be put on the SD Card. (Another user via another question I put out there indicated that the check marks indicate whether or not an app can be stored to the SD Card . . . is that true?). At any rate I am getting the following message when I select an app and select the 'move to media storage' button.
Failure to move application. There is not enough storage left. Here is the particulars of my current state of storage -
Application Storage - 1.04 GB
Internal Storage-
Total Space: 4.36 GB
Available Space: 4.88 GB
SD Card -
Total Space: 29.71 GB
Available Space: 28.79 GB
*So I have plenty of SD Card space, why am I getting this error? Is the one user correct that just because I see an app in the media area tab, that doesn't mean that it can be transfered? Also, when I select an app and the button to move it to the media area is selectable (not greyed out) . . . shouldn't it be selectable without getting the failure I keep getting? Obvoiusly I have PLENTY of SD Card space, so there is something I obviously do not understand.
Today my droid x 2 wont install or update my apps I get an error message that reads "couldn't install on USB storage or SD card". I have turned off my phone did a battery pull, took out sd card put it back in and cleared market data and cache. And still have the problem.
View 2 Replies View RelatedDoes anyone know how to change the default storage to the external Memory card when downloading apps from the market place for th SE x10min pro?So far I've downloaded few apps and they all get downloaded to the phone memory. So it's nearly full but the SD card still has 1.8GB. If there isn't a default option, does anyone know how to get around the issue?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have a variety of apps that create export or backup files. How can the apps access the SD card storage directly? I recently replaced (under warrenty) my Bionic and it was a pain. I backed up everthing (app data that is) thinking the "backup" was going to the SD card, since all I got was a file address (or name). Once I moved the battery, SIM and SD card from one phone to the other, I realized that all the files were on the internal staroage and still on the old phone, not the SD card. This meant moving all of the hardware back to the old phone, finding all of the files stored on the internal storage, moving them to the SD card, switching everything back to the new phone and moving the files from the SD card to the internal storage - all the time hoping I got them in the right place (which wasn't necessarily the case all of the time).
View 2 Replies View RelatedCurrently i have 64GB of external storage. How come i cannot update some of my Apps but then again i already transfer all the files that is possible to transfer to external storage. now my 'available' SD Card is 58.54GB.
View 5 Replies View RelatedWhen I try to install software updates, the progress bar is stuck at 0%. I also can't install apps, which are stuck on 0.1mb. I was on build .0 and hard restetted, still same issue. I used the recovery tool to go to 1511 still same issue. I also got an "not enough storage" message although there is nothing installed on the phone.
View 1 Replies View RelatedAfter getting my Wildfire S, I installed five or six apps. Then I started getting "Insufficient storage" when trying to apply updates, so I started removing them again. Eventually, the "insufficient storage" came back again, so I removed more.I'm now at the point of having to refuse updates as there's no more that I can remove - I've been looking to remove unused parts of the basic phone, for example.

View 2 Replies View RelatedCan I change the File Manager default search to "Phone storage + SD card" ???
Android wastes so much of my time just searching "Phone storage" on the first pass, because 99% of my file transfers go to "SD card." Is there a way to set default to both?
Some of my MTP file transfers are SO FAST that I don't see what location (file directory) a transfer is going to, which I supposed is something to celebrate. !!!
I have a factory unlocked version of an HTC One M8 on AT&T running 4.4.3. I noticed a week ago I was having issues with Pocketcasts freezing. It stored its files on the SD card so I moved them to the phone storage. It seems to be working fine now. This week I have been taking pictures with my HTC M8 and the gallery freezes and the picture will turn blank with a triangle in it. The camera stores pictures on the SD card also. If I touch the picture the phone locks up.
