BB Curve :: Receive Sms Texts But Not Read Them?
Apr 8, 2012my blackberry curve is currently receiving sms text messages, but they only show up as an icon at the top of the main menu, i can't actually see them or even open them. i do not have this problem with mms or email. i also can't see texts when i go to the specific 'sms' inbox. i know i'm receiving them because friends have asked why i haven't responded. but it's like they're lost to some black hole in my phone.
things i've tried:i've tried rebooting the phone, at which point i've gotten the "uncaught exception: java.lang.ClassCastException" error. also, my phone is saying "attempting to open a secure server connection but the server's certificate is not trusted." sometimes i can just click close connection and get through to the phone but other times i can't.
i've tried rebooting the phone (taking the battery out), changing my themes settings to default (and using a default blackberry theme) and deleting all messages from my phone. nothing seems to be working -- what can I do to read text messages again?

Sep 12, 2012For a few days now I have been unable to read what I am sending or receiving on my blackberry. I am notified that I have a new message, I go to my inbox, the message isn't moving to the top of my inbox so I have to find it, I can read the first part of the message while I'm still in my inbox, but when I click on the message to read it in full, it's not there! At this point my phone thinks I've read the message so it no longer alerts me about a new message. Same with sent messages, I can type and send them, but they don't appear in the message thread at all.

Nov 29, 2011I have a VZW Bold 9650 and I am having a "random reset" issue with my blackberry. Out of nowhere (often just sitting running no programs) my device restarts itself. Sometimes it just gives me a blank white screen and restarts, other times I get an actual error message in that white screen - but it disappears in 0.1 sec, so there is no way to read it. Because the resets are random, I can't emulate them to try to get a picture for example.
Is there a way to read that error message after the device finishes restarting (like an error log of sorts)?
General advice on how to fix this error would also be welcomed (though I think that if I can read the error message, it will be easier to narrow down the cause). I would rather not do a full wipe since I am out of network for now and will be for the next month or so.
More details: Originally VZW, but unlocked (by VZW) to use with other carriers. Currently. Crazy John's in Australia OS6 All programs work well (though my GPS has been weird and often takes 5 min. to find my location)

1. I want txt alerts to continue (every minute or two) until I have opened and read a text message. Does any model I-Phone allow for this?
2. I want to disable predictive text as I don't like the I-Phone algorhthym for this -- it causes me endless grief. Which model allows for this?

May 7, 2012I have Yahoo on my iPhone, right? When I read an email in my Yahoo account on my iPhone, and later log into my Yahoo account, it shows those messages as read. Heck, I can even file my emails away in my folders, if I want to; i.e. move them over to my bills folder, or my purchases folder, or my mom folder.Now, here's the deal with my other account tho. I have my work emails going to my iPhone too. At work, I use Outlook. I do not know a whole lot about how things are set up over here, but I have access to answers if you guys can help me find out the right questions to ask. When I read a work email on my iPhone, and I get to work the next morning, there it is, bold and unread. I really want it to show as read. I get an obnoxious amount of work emails. The whole point in keeping up with them on my phone is to save me time in the long run. So, when I get to work and have to re-read them all, I've saved nothing. Jul 8, 2010I use E66 and E52 phones. When I receive a new message, notification light starts flashing on both phones. It is OK. But... I often use Nokia PC Suite for managing my messages. When I read all new messages on E66, notification light automatically changes its self from flashing mode to "breathing". It's fine. But it doesn't work on my E52. When I read all new messages, notification light is still flashing (no "breathing"!) on E52. I read manual and I know that it is necessary to use my phone directly to stop flashing. Why (if all messages has been read)? I think, it correct works on E66. What is the problem? I use latest version of firmware and Nokia PC Suite (not OVI Suite!). I contacted Nokia HelpDesk, but they told me something like "it is not a bug, it is a feature".

Jan 14, 2010I was wondering if someone could help. I own an iPhone 3Gs and for some reason when in silent mode, the phone doesnt vibrate when i receive a new text message (sms). It vibrates when I receive a call in silent mode, and also when i receive a reminder from Intelliscreen alerting me of a missed call or new sms.
Basically the vibration function works for everything except when i receive a new sms in silent mode and when i flip the swtich from silent to ring (and vice versa).
Due to the above, i can only assume that its not a hardware issue since it does actually vibrate. this happened a few months after purchasing (and jailbreaking) the phone so i can only assume that this is being caused by an app that I have installed since it was fine for the first few months. I have checked the settings on the phone a million times (vibrate is on for silent and ring) and I cant work out why this is happening.
I have statusnotifier, ireal sms (v2) and quicksms installed. i dont know if they're causing the issue but i have installed them and the prob still remains.Is anybody else having the same problem or can advise on how to solve the problem? ive searched long and hard on the net and connot find a solution.
