I am on my third iPhone (first one stolen, 2nd one broken, both 3G).When I plugged in the 2nd one, it synced nicely to where the last one left off. Now I have just plugged in my 3rd one (3GS) and it has synced to where the first one left off too!How can I fix this? I want it synced the were the 2nd one was, not the first!
I am tired of my iPhone having multiple "Linked cards" with varying information in them. I have cleaned up my address book on my iMac and would like to start fresh with a download of contacts to the iPhone.
How do I clear out my iPhone contacts so that I can import the cleaned list?
Thanks for any input!

Bought a Macbook Pro 13. Connect to iTunes but says if I synch music/vids etc will be erased from my iphone since it was attached to another computer (of which crashed on me). I was told I can close itunes and use Finder and under devices the Iphone will be there and I can transfer music and whatever to the library, but it doesn't show up under devices. What gives? why does apple have to make everything so complicated. already regretting getting a macbook, shoulda stayed with windows
After switching to iCloud the iCal on my iPhone is no longer synched with my MacBook Pro. I've tried delting iCloud on my iPhone and reinstalling it. It is still not synching. What do I need to do to get my iCal on my iPhone to synch with my iCal on my MacBook Pro?
After going through apple's incipid re-registration process, here's my question.I've got multiple computers I use (work, home, road).I want to be able to do things like pull off my voice memos,in particular, w/o having to delete my music from MY iPhone.I don't seem to be able to do. All I want is the ability to control MY stuff and all I can see is you're trying to get me to do something that is 1; something I don't want to do 2; deterimental to my experience. Is there a way to just pull off voice memos from my phone w/o having to sync (delete) my music when I'm not on my "home" computer?
I have a year old iPhone4 with contacts that I have never backed up or synched. I know this was risky. My husband just bought me an iPad3 and he attempted to synch my PC, Outlook Express, the iPad3 and the iPhone4. We were trying once and for all to back it all up so the files would be safe and so both the iPad3 and iPhone4 would have the current contacts. I wound up with stupid Outlook contacts (like empty files and spammers) on my iPhone4 and iPad3 but the original contacts on the iPhone4 were gone. I spent hours re-creating the majority of the data on the iPad3 the other night.
Then today he tried to move the iPad3 contacts to the PC by synching. Instead somehow all the good contacts disappeared from the iPad3 and the iPhone4. All I am left with again is stupid incomplete and spam files from my Outlook loaded into the apple devices again -- which I don't want anyway!!
My husband has been synching his iPad2 with his PC and Blackberry, integrating Outlook Express with contacts and calendars with no problem for months now. He is completely befuddled about what he has done with my data twice now. He doesn't know why when he tries to synch my devices in the same manner as he synches his, it messes everything up.
He was using iTunes and thought he was using iCloud yet thinks he also synched to Outlook Express.
I have Numbers on my iPhone.I have placed a couple of Excel files into the File Sharing window for Numbers in iTunes. I sync the iPhone and then I can open up and view the files on the phone. Now, what I can't figure out is how to have Numbers automatically update the files when I've changed them on my MacBook Pro.
I have been trying to synch my Phone 5c with Itunes manually - I have checked Manually Manage Music and checked Synch Selected Songs only, but every time I hit synch, it starts synching my entire library.
I got my new Bold9700 today on Orange (UK), installed Desktop Manager on Windows Vista.I loaded up desktop manager, and it said 'please verify a device is connected'; the options and help menu at the top were greyed out. When I connected the BB via USB, it came up with a message in the bottom right hand corner of my screen saying USB device not recognised, it has malfunctioned and Windows does not recognise it. On going to the device manager, it is there under Universal Serial Bus, as 'unknown device', with no drivers attached to it. When I press update drivers, it says they are as updated as they can be, although there are none. It does not charge, and the BB doesn't recognise that it is plugged in at all, it can still be used as normal.Has anyone else had this problem? I've tried everything, down to getting a friend to send me the driver files and trying again, uninstalling and re-installing everything.
Suddenly nokia messaging stopped synching on my telephone (N97) at 5th of february 10:00 am (dutch time)The log file shows the following:
Sync: last sync failed
Info sync modus: slow (strange because its set to fastest in the application settings)
Error: end of file (error -25) Error in Eaplugin
Infosync: stopped
What did I do this morning: Re-entered passwords for mailaccounts, re-entered password for mainaccount by nokia messaging, re-installed nokia messaging, re-booted my N97 several times...Nothing helped so far, i'm still not receiving mail on the accounts which I set up with nokia messaging. These are @hotmail, @live end @gmail accounts.
I am trying to synch my adress book with my corporate BES 4.1. It was working fine up until a week ago when I noticed some contacts were not downloading from my outlook address book. After trying to download the address book a couple of times I wiped the addresses out by deleting the Desktop (SYNC) file from the service book and tried to resync with the server. This time it looks like it is downloading all of the addresses (1034 of them) but when I go to the adress book there is still nothing there. The Desktop(SYNC) file reappears but no addresses.
I had to replace my first Storm 2 because it was not performing as expected. I had added my Yahoo email and I could read and delete email from my Blackberry and it would show as read or delete in my online account when I logged in, as well, if I read or deleted emails online they would show as read or deleted on the Storm 2. Now I have added the same account to the new phone and I have to read and delete emails online AND on my Blackberry because the 2 way synching no longer works. Does anyone know how to fix this? I have deleted the accounts, re-added them, wiped the whole device and started over multiple times and it still doesn't work. It never worked for hotmail but if someone knows how to get it to work for hotmail that information would be appreciated too.
I just got a Blackberry Tour 9630 through Verizon. I have been attempting to transfer all of my (200+) contacts to my new phone using Verizon's 'Backup Assistant'. I dowloaded the Blackberry Desktop Manager and through the Verizon Backup Assistant instructions have managed to get to the point where my contacts are in a csv file, but here is where the problem begins - my laptop is just a few months old, and the OS is Windows 7. Outlook and Outlook Express, which is what I used to have, is no longer in existence in Windows 7 from what I understand, it is now Windows Live Mail. I have set that up and it is working fine - I have my ISP e-mail set up in it and was able to import my phone contacts in to there, but the backup instructions for importing the csv file so that I can synch them are only given for Microsoft Outlook / Outlook Express. The Blackberry Desktop Messenger does not seem to recognize Windows Live Mail either, just Outlook. I have looked all over the internet trying to find a solution to this, if there even is one. I hope so because the thought of having to enter 200 contacts with all of their info. by hand is not a good one!
Hopefully one of you smart people out there understands what I am talking about and can tell me if there is a solution to this (keeping my fingers crossed!).
I am using Win 7 with Outlook 2003 and the latest version of Nokia Ovi suite. It's all working perfectly, apart from the fact that when I sync my outlook calendar to my phone, the entries in my phone are always an hour ahead. However when others put meeting requests in my outlook calendar, it syncs fine - at the right time.
Just got the Torch, lovin' it so far, but Im having trouble transferring my address book/other data to it. Blackberry 6 did all the steps, but I still have nothing on my Torch that was on my Bold (i.e. address book, or any other media).
I just bought a Torch 9800 using the latest desktop and OS 6.I loaded on Documents to Go which works fine on the BB, but it won't let me synch the desktop to the BB.It gives me this message:Your Blackberry device appears to be connected with Mass Storage Mode Enabled. Documents to Go Desktop is unable to pair or sync with devices connected this way. Please disconnect & reconnect your device with Mass Storage Mode disabled. Does anyone know how to do this with Device software version 6.0.0.141?
My company recently upgraded to Outlook 2010, which apparently automatically saves email address to an address book in Outlook called Suggested Contacts. This group automatically populates with contacts that you communicate or have communicated with, but are not in your contact list. Because the phones are all set up to sync with Exchange, this contact list is automatically synced to the phones by default.
The problem I'm having is, I changed the default so Outlook would no longer automatically populate this and gotten rid of this address book in Outlook, but now I can't get the contacts off the phone. I have tried unchecking the box that says sync contacts, but nothing happens. The contacts remain in the phone. I am posative the contacts are linked to the Exchange account and not to Google or some other account.
How do I synch the contacts from my Berry to my google gmail account? When I go to my contacts and use options I have a contact list of unknown which has my contacts that I use for my bold. When I go to the unknown list under Wireless Synchronization it is grayed out and says unavailable. I can't figure out how to synch them. I want to back up my contacts online/gmail and be able to download them to future phones.
I have a Curve 8900 running v4.6.1.231...I am on an Enterprise Data plan, with emails synched up to both my office outlook email, and my personal yahoo email. At around 11:30 yesterday, my yahoo email stopped sending/receiving/synching with my BB, but my office outlook email is working fine.
I tried to go into Email setup with the setup wizard, to see if maybe I had to delete and re-add my yahoo email account, but after about 60 seconds with a load message "connecting to email settings" I got a message that said "Your devide had a problem connecting to the server" with retry and cancel button - I retried with no avail. Not the most tech savvy person here, but was wondering if this is a problem on my end? Or something on the BB side?
I use gmail and when I delete an email on the web, it doesn't delete on my BB. The same goes for when I open an email on the web, it doesn't show 'read' on my BB. Interestingly though, if I delete or read an email on my BB, the action is reciprocated on the web.And finally, if I send myself an email (either from the web or my BB), it appears on the web but not on my BB.
I have the desktop software open and it recognizes my blackberry. However when I click the arrows for synch btwn outlook and the blackberry it pops up an error box with no message. When I click to the next screen it won't let me select an outlook profile. The Drop down box is empty.
I just got my iPhone yesterday, and with apple being the homepage for my mac, i was looking and noticed the iPhone 4s is supposed to come with the apps Find My iPhone and the hd 1080 video recording. Mine didn't?
