I am tired of my iPhone having multiple "Linked cards" with varying information in them. I have cleaned up my address book on my iMac and would like to start fresh with a download of contacts to the iPhone.
How do I clear out my iPhone contacts so that I can import the cleaned list?

BB Curve 8900 :: Yahoo Email Stopped Sending / Receiving / Synching With BB
Mar 8, 2010I have a Curve 8900 running v4.6.1.231...I am on an Enterprise Data plan, with emails synched up to both my office outlook email, and my personal yahoo email. At around 11:30 yesterday, my yahoo email stopped sending/receiving/synching with my BB, but my office outlook email is working fine.
I tried to go into Email setup with the setup wizard, to see if maybe I had to delete and re-add my yahoo email account, but after about 60 seconds with a load message "connecting to email settings" I got a message that said "Your devide had a problem connecting to the server" with retry and cancel button - I retried with no avail.Not the most tech savvy person here, but was wondering if this is a problem on my end? Or something on the BB side?
IPhone :: Lost All Contacts When Synching 4 IPad3 & PC
May 5, 2012I have a year old iPhone4 with contacts that I have never backed up or synched. I know this was risky. My husband just bought me an iPad3 and he attempted to synch my PC, Outlook Express, the iPad3 and the iPhone4. We were trying once and for all to back it all up so the files would be safe and so both the iPad3 and iPhone4 would have the current contacts. I wound up with stupid Outlook contacts (like empty files and spammers) on my iPhone4 and iPad3 but the original contacts on the iPhone4 were gone. I spent hours re-creating the majority of the data on the iPad3 the other night.
Then today he tried to move the iPad3 contacts to the PC by synching. Instead somehow all the good contacts disappeared from the iPad3 and the iPhone4. All I am left with again is stupid incomplete and spam files from my Outlook loaded into the apple devices again -- which I don't want anyway!!
My husband has been synching his iPad2 with his PC and Blackberry, integrating Outlook Express with contacts and calendars with no problem for months now. He is completely befuddled about what he has done with my data twice now. He doesn't know why when he tries to synch my devices in the same manner as he synches his, it messes everything up.
He was using iTunes and thought he was using iCloud yet thinks he also synched to Outlook Express.
BB Tour 9630 :: Trouble Synching Contacts Into New
Apr 8, 2010I just got a Blackberry Tour 9630 through Verizon. I have been attempting to transfer all of my (200+) contacts to my new phone using Verizon's 'Backup Assistant'. I dowloaded the Blackberry Desktop Manager and through the Verizon Backup Assistant instructions have managed to get to the point where my contacts are in a csv file, but here is where the problem begins - my laptop is just a few months old, and the OS is Windows 7. Outlook and Outlook Express, which is what I used to have, is no longer in existence in Windows 7 from what I understand, it is now Windows Live Mail. I have set that up and it is working fine - I have my ISP e-mail set up in it and was able to import my phone contacts in to there, but the backup instructions for importing the csv file so that I can synch them are only given for Microsoft Outlook / Outlook Express. The Blackberry Desktop Messenger does not seem to recognize Windows Live Mail either, just Outlook. I have looked all over the internet trying to find a solution to this, if there even is one. I hope so because the thought of having to enter 200 contacts with all of their info. by hand is not a good one!
Hopefully one of you smart people out there understands what I am talking about and can tell me if there is a solution to this (keeping my fingers crossed!).

Aug 29, 2012My company recently upgraded to Outlook 2010, which apparently automatically saves email address to an address book in Outlook called Suggested Contacts. This group automatically populates with contacts that you communicate or have communicated with, but are not in your contact list. Because the phones are all set up to sync with Exchange, this contact list is automatically synced to the phones by default.
The problem I'm having is, I changed the default so Outlook would no longer automatically populate this and gotten rid of this address book in Outlook, but now I can't get the contacts off the phone. I have tried unchecking the box that says sync contacts, but nothing happens. The contacts remain in the phone. I am posative the contacts are linked to the Exchange account and not to Google or some other account.

Feb 5, 2010I have recently had to reformat my 8900 and for some reason after setting up my gmail account i an receiving one copy of each email in my gmail folder and also recieving another copy of the same email in my messages folder. this means that i really am recieving 1 in the email folder and 2copies of the same email in the messages folder. i am using BIS and have tried deleting and re-adding the email account and also resending the service books. i tried looking around but couldn't see the same problem which makes me think it's something simple I'm missing. it's nothing to do with sent messages which i have no problems with.

When I go to my contacts and use options I have a contact list of unknown which has my contacts that I use for my bold. Apr 5, 2012I got both my iPhone and iPad sychronized with my outlook exchange account in my company. This setting has been applied over a year and I re-added the account after i got a 4S. However, outlook contacts started to duplicate (some up to 10 times) from 8xxx contacts to 9xxxx contacts since 2 weeks ago. I didn't turn on iPad and I consulted the IT department they said they needed to disable activeSync on my account to test first. Do you know if it's iPhone/iPad problem or ActiveSync problem? What I can do? I did try to remove all contacts in Outlook and restored a backup (8xxx contacts) but after a while, the outlook contact started to duplicate again and even generated up to 6xxxx contacts again.

BB Bold 9700 :: Receiving Hundreds Of Duplicate Gmail / Facebook Messages Daily
May 31, 2010I have a Blackberry Bold 9700 on the 3 Mobile network. I only have one email account setup, and it is a Gmail account. I use Facebook for Blackberry.So here's my problem - a few days ago I checked my Blackberry Bold 9700 and saw that I had received 28 email messages and 8 Facebook notifications.However none of these emails or Facebook notifications was new. They were all ones I had already received that day.
I deleted them all, and guess what - an hour later and they all came back into my email inbox and Facebook notifications.When I went to sleep that night, I woke up with 136 emails and 26 Facebook notifications - ALL OF THEM THE SAME REPEAT EMAILS OVER AND OVER AGAIN!
I have been on forums and tried removing my battery and SIM card (not very technical, that) as well as resending the Service Books after doing this. Nothing has solved this problem though.I really hope someone can help please as I'm seriously thinking of ditching my BlackBerry and buying an iPhone where this problem doesn't occur.

May 31, 2012I have read about duplicating contacts, but that is not my main problem. My problem is that instead of one phone number for any given contact, there may be up to 30 of the same phone number! If there is a cell and home, both will be duplicated. What a pain! I do use mobileme but have not started on the cloud yet. Any ideas how this can happen? I showed them my iphone 4 (IOS 5.1.1) at the Verizon store and the rep said she never saw anything like that before. I live two hours from the nearest apple store.

Apr 5, 2012Ok, so when I am in the compose message view I start typing a name to send a message to and the phone shows me all numbers for that contact, even if I deleted that number... for example say my contact Lewis upgrades and gets a new number, I edit his contact, deleting the old number and replacing it with the new. Then when I type LEW into the compose message "to" section it shows all numbers ever stored under that name, if you know what I mean..? So i am typing someones name getting multiple numbers even if they only have 1 number to there name.This also seems to be the case if someone registers a number to FB and I overwrite that number with a new number

BB Bold :: Contacts Duplicate Itself?
Feb 3, 2010It was fine until Monday when the contacts did it again. It also deleted all the information that was added to each contact (like facebook, email, picture etc) and defaulted itself to a standard work number. It would show doubles of some contacts, three of others, and some even four. I then went to AT&T and they just looked at me like I was stupid, saying that it was because I synced my phone to my computer. Well for starters, I don't have an address book on my computer, and I don't know how to used outlook. Also, I've synced my phone with my computer several times before with no issues.I then went home, called AT&T and the Blackberry Department and still nothing. They said it was all a syncing issue. So after all that being said, I re-deleted the extras and re-organized a few.
Today I noticed that when I linked one of my BBM contacts (she had gotten a new pin) to her contact info, the address book again duplicated itself. So I am guessing this is the problem? Is there away I can link BBM Pins to Contact Info without it duplicating all my contacts and deleting their other information? I'm really crazy when it comes to organizing, and I can't keep having my contacts getting messed up continously.
