Jul 2, 2012Is there an application similar to Motorola Phone Tools or Nokia PC Suite that is available for the iPhone? I have resently updated to iPhone 3GS 32gb and love the product. However, I would like to have the functionality that i have been used to with my previous phone, the Motorola Razr. I would like to be able to send SMS from my PC via the connected iPhone, without Jailbreaking my phone. I have googled and found iPhone PC Suite, however it states you need a Jailbreak phone and i don't want to jailbreak the phone.There is a Japanese that has the functionality I'm looking for. But, it is written all in Japanese. And, I can't read Japanese

Mar 23, 2012I have two different contacts on my phone. These are Lesley and Lesley India. When I ask Siri to call Lesley I am asked which one I want to call being given the options of Lesley or Lesley India. If I state just Lesley then Siri asks me the same question i.e. Lesley or Lesley India. My old iPhone 3GS could work this out fine but Siri can't!

I am keen to root but it seems far more potentially troublsome, and far less straightforward.I bought this in New Zealand from Spark. I assume it is locked?Is the bootloader locked?I couldnt find the matching build on Chainfire, Can this particular model be rooted?Is there any guide to rooting? It seems all the information is spread out all over the place and no definitive guide and FAQ.I can't even find the original stock rom.Is rooting not similar to jailbreaking in the way it is done?

This seems to confuse my N900 to no end - at times, when person A calls, it gets put into the call log as person B, and so on. Sep 16, 2010I have a BB Curve 8530 and I have an icon on my home screen that I cannot figure out. It looks similar to the icon used for missed call or placed call except it has a curved arrow next to it. It is a gold phone receiver and the arrow is bent at a 45 degree angle. (Kind of like a backwards check mark with an arrow head on the bottom). I have a suspicion that it has to do with call forwarding since I forwarded calls to different phone # the other day, however, I cancelled that. I have checked my messages folder, rebooted, pulled battery, done an update, etc. Nothing works. I looked through the manual and it doesn't show the icon.

Jul 29, 2010I purchased a new 32gb iPhone 4 from my local Apple Store. After everything was all setup, I walked around the store trying to replicate the "death grip" which I was able to do, mostly anyway. A few seconds go by and a screen pops up, very similar to the incoming call screen.
It was plank at the top where the number usually would go, and below that it said "Pwr on/off". At the bottom was the usual Accept / Decline buttons. The Apple genius immediately said "Oh, hold on a sec" and pressed the "Accept" button, and the screen disappeared. When I asked him about it, he was very very coy about it and said "Oh, it was a diagnostic screen, don't worry about it. It's gone and you won't see it again." I kept asking what the screen was and he kept deflecting the question.
Anyways, much of the screen description was coming from memory, so I'm not 100% sure it was exactly, but it was damn close. I wish I had time to take a screenshot. Anyways, has anyone else seen this screen before? What is it?

Aug 14, 2010My girlfriend has an EVO 4G and after playing with it I made a list of things that I admire about Android phones.
1) The ability to work with Google Docs
2) Notification system
3) Speech to text in the keyboard
4) Weather widget
Then it hit me that most of the time, if I thought of it, there is a solution somewhere. For 1) Last night I found an app called NoteMaster that lets me take notes in Google Docs and the webapp lets you edit spreadsheets. That's most of my uses for Google Docs taken care of. I haven't thought of or found a solution for 2 or 3 yet, but if anyone knows of a fix let me know. I have an idea for 4, but I haven't been able to find it. If you could change your background so that it displayed the weather for the next 24 hours, then when you turned on your phone from sleep mode you'd have a fast way of getting the weather. Even better if you could get to sync with and display a todo list. I saw a picture of a weather app that had a background behind the weather. Couldn't find the name of it, but that would also be a nice touch.And I don't want to jail break.

I Will soon be getting the HTC One M8 when At&t finishes buying out Alltel/setting up towers blah blah whatever they are doing, which is supposed to be by February.My sister has an iPhone 5 and almost EVERY time we text, we will be in the middle of conversation and I will get a blank text. I will have to get her to screenshot it so I know what she said. It's SOOO ANNOYING. Or I will get two **, which I'm assuming is her sending me an emoji or something. She said I'm the only one she has problems texting. She also said that my texts will come broke up, even when it's not a long message. I want to know if this is going to be a problem with the HTC One M8, because if it is, then I might just have to consider an iPhone because I text my sister A LOT since she lives so far.

Jul 4, 2012I just switched from an iPhone 4 to a Galaxy S3 and now no one who has an iPhone can send me an SMS because their phones are trying to send the message through iMessage. I have tried every solution on the web and none have worked. My iPhone isn't registered in my list of products on apple.com any more and I can't go around and tell 50 people to disable iMessage and use regular SMS because I'm no longer using my iPhone.
