IPhone :: ITunes Can't Locate Recent Backup For Restored 4
Apr 26, 2012
I recently restored my iPhone4 on my Mac computer and I'm absolutely freaking out because my iTunes will not locate the correct backup (even when I left click on the iPhone icon in iTunes tool bar and select "Restore from Backup"). However, I can locate the file on my computer from the Library/ApplicationSupport/MobileSync/Backup. I've tried dragging it a bunch of different places/renaming the file to get it to show up in iTunes but nothing's working I saw that before I completed the most recent backup, it said the date before that was around mid-Jan 2012. The only backup file my iTunes can find is from 2010! My phone is not jail broken but if that's what it would take to get all of my data back.... I'm basically deserate.
I just deleted an iMessage thread on accident. I went to plug my phone in to restore from a backup I did last night, but of course it automatically synced as soon as I plugged it in, and now it wants to restore from the backup it just made (in which the messages have already been deleted). Is there a way to select a backup point inm the past that is not the most recent one? I am not using iCloud (yet).
I lost my phone and needed to get a replacement. When I did, I started the activation process, but never got prompted to restore from iCloud, just from my last backup in iTunes. I've run the restoration, and the backup was pretty out of date. Is there a way to restore the backup I'd set up in iCloud at this point?
I followed the steps given to find evidence of backup, particularly of texts, but really cannot find that it is backed up anywhere on my computer. How to locate those files? I definitely want to keep them before switching over to my new iphone, since the new SIM card is not going to work in the old phone anymore....
bought phone today and restored from back up now wont turn on, constantly showing apple sign. have tried holding power and home button, also tried connecting to itunes.
I am trying to restore an iPhone 3 to a previous version. I keep getting the error message: "The backup "Angelo's iPhone" cannot be restored to this iPhone because the software on the iPhone is too old. To restore this iPhone from this backup, you must first set up the iPhone as new and restore the software to the latest version."
I have already done the following: -Updated my version of iTunes (current as of 6/17/12). -Restored the iPhone to factory settings. -Checked for updates, but it says the version is current.
I recently updated iTunes. The update went smoothly, but immediately after the update iTunes no longer shows my iPhone4. The diagnostics show that everything is okay with exception of the no iPhone connected error. I've run through all of the Apple helps but nothing has fixed the problem. The same problem occurs on other user profiles on the same computer. The computer is a 64-bit Windows 7 machine. Windows 7 shows the iPhone and I can access it as a camera or drive. I've re-installed the phone USB driver but still no go. I can plug my phone into another computer and the sync works fine.
i would like to ask about the "where itune backup are restored on your computer". i am following the instruction under the window vista and windows 7, and the note mention that we have to press the "RETURN"key, what is the return key??
I cant seem to figure it, I want all the app data, that was backed up in the 2.2GB backup in the cloud, ive filled in all of the iCloud information and its merged my contacts and my email.
I just connect iPhone 5 last night, iTunes asked for restore I thought it's back up by mistake. After restore all my photos from last two month gone and photo from last year come to phone! How can I get them back? photo are very import and memorable for me.
I just had my iPhone 5s replaced and restored from backup.
a) most of my apps were missing (meh, not a huge deal to purge)
but more importantly,
b) I can't download certain apps now. For instance, I try to restore Gmail from the cloud and I keep getting a "This item isn't available", which I find pretty unlikely for the GMail app.Â
Is this something with my account? Are others seeing this as well?
iphone messed up so i backed it up at 1:46am so i could basically restore my phone as new. anyways, tried to restore from my backup at 1:46am and there's not an option to restore it from. it has one from 2am, so i clicked that and i lost everything. not really sure why. also went to itunes>preferences>devices and my backup from 1:46am is there but i'm not sure what i can do about it. viewed it in finder and dragged it to my desktop just incase i need to use it.
I previously had the iphone 4 but yesterday I upgraded to the 4S. I got home and restore all the information from my phone into my itunes account. This way I could plug in my new phone and do a backup restore to get all the apps, contacts, music etc on my new phone. However, within the past two months I have purchased quite a bit of music on my phone through itunes. Since then I had not synced my phone to itunes so I did that yesterday when restoring it. When I plugged in the 4S and did the backup restore, I do not have the songs that I have purchased within the past two months on my phone or in my itunes account. How do I get these back?
My iPhone5c failed and apple gave me a new one, so I followed the instructions and clicked 'restore and update' Amy's iPhone in iTunes, only after it went through the motions it is now calling the new phone 'Guest users phone' so I obviously did something wrong as none of my contacts photos etc are available.Â
Why couldn't it just have done what I wanted it to do..is there a way I can get back to the backup of my old phone?Â
I am trying to download the latest iTunes software, but I can't because I cannot locate the old version of iTunes. How can I work around this without losing all the songs in my current library?
Need to restore my events in Week Cal from a backup. How do I find the dates of my recent backups? All my calendar events still appear on the hotmail frontpage. But I don´t know how to sync them back to my Week Cal.
i initiated and ios upgrade to 5.1.1 from my phone b/c it said it was already downloaded... after i kicked it off, it says i needed to connect to itunes.. however, it then said i was in restore mode.. after downloading the 800+gb download... it only gave me the option of restoring from an old restore... i thought since it said downloaded, the phone only need to update files and not the entire os. therefore i didnt perform a backup first.
I am using my brother's old iphone 3G, he said to restore and not to update the phone when I connected to my itunes. I updated then restored but now it appears to be wiped and the message on screen says could not activate phone??
got an iPhone 4 which I'm trying to set up so it's childproof.. now I can set up good restrictions etc and turn off find my iphone so it can't be restored to factory settings remotely.. but if they plug it into itunes they can just reset it and overwrite all my fancy settings?Â
Is there any setting I can use in itunes or on the iPhone itself to prevent that?
