IPhone :: ITunes Asking For Username, Not Email Address?

When I try to update apps on my iPhone I am being prompted for my Apple ID password. Above the field for entering the password it is displaying my username. However - and this is where this gets a bit odd - Apple some time ago started (I believe) using email addresses instead of usernames for log-ins on the iTunes store, for Apple website log-ins etc. When I enter my password it is rejected. How do I remove the username and enter the correct combination of email address and password.

I've had to change my email address, so I made a new account in itunes, along with the apple id in the store settings on my iphone. The problem is that when I go to update apps it will still ask me the password for my old email address, I've looked in all my settings, searched the net and I wouldn't have a clue in how to change it.

using googlemail on my imac and synced via itunes. This worked perfectly on my old iphone 3 but won't allow me to send any emails from the new one. I'm still receiving email so the password must be correct. Not sure what to do now?

Recently my mum's iPhone 5 stopped working and she tried to take it back to Apple for repair but they said they couldn't fix it until she gave them her login details however she has forgotten everything but still remembers the security questions. What can she do to get her login details back so she can fix her phone? I was thinking we go to the Apple Store and give them some details about the account such as the address used, security questions and date of birth used on the account but i'm not sure if that works. Is it possible?

I like my E72 but I have two problems that really annoy me.
1. In the past when ever I would write a new email I would get list of suggested email addresses in the "To" field. For example, if I would was to write the letter S I would get the email address of the people in my address book whose name starts with an S (sam, Sofia etc). for some reason this feature stopped working on my phone and I can't find how to make it work again. if I want to send an email I need to manually write the email address in the "To" field. The auto suggestion feature works perfectly on my wife's phone (an E72 with the same firmware - 22.007) but on my phone it won't suggest email addresses from my contacts.
2. Another problem is that my Gmail that is synced to the phone, through the Nokia Messenger server is locked on "hide emails older than 2 weeks". Now, I have hundreds of emails stored on my phone that dates to February 1st - the day I got the Phone.
Is there a way to delete these emails automatically, without deleting them on the Gmail account itself? It makes my phone really when going through the emails.

I forgot the username that I need to access Email Settings, I have the password but not the username. I've tried all the possible usernames I could have given but none of them work.
What is the format of that username? Is it just a username like 'James31' or is it like 'James31@bell.blackberry.net'
Can it be completely different from your Emali address? eg email address could be 'x@bell.blackberry.net' then does the username have to be 'x' or can it be like 'xdfak'?

My internet provider changed protocol for username for email account. Changed on computers successfully, not able to do it on BlackberryBold 9900. I went to email accounts, highlighted the account, pressed menu button to change username. But there is no edit option in the menu. there is validate, delete, etc. no edit. have no idea what to do. Unless the username is changed i cant receive emails.

I recently backed up my phone on my computer and ever since I did, it's like all of my personal settings were deleted as well. For instance, I had to fix my all of my profiles sounds after backing up, and I went to my Blackberry Appworld, scrolled over to My Appworld and it says 'no downloads' and I have downloaded a lot of applications. That's not really a problem for me, as long as I get messages when updates come out for the apps...? Now, I am trying to setup another email address and when going to 'email setup wizard', I am being prompted for a Username and Password. I don't remember ever making a username or password for email setup, but was able to firgure out I could put my PIN in for my password to be sent, which it was. BUT I still do not know what my username is, and I've tried my email addresses with and without what's after the @ and still no luck.

So, i have tryed to change my E-mail account on my blackberry, and i go in to all the setup stuff but it says i need a username and password to continue? So i though this was just my e-mail/password, turns out its not, it just says enter a valid username? i really need to change my e-mail!

Why have they removed the ability to have a space in your email username. Was there on the 5800XM.. Must be more ppl than me that have corporate email with usernames with spaces in. Anyone know how to solve this? (and nope I can't remove the space)

I have had my bbry tour for 3 years and never had this problem. I am getting a message that I need to validate my email on my blackberry, but every time I try it says not a valid username password and can't validate. Just recently I have had a problem with being able to edit my email settings, when I go to main menu > set up > Email accounts it comes up with a username and password. I assume the username that it is requesting would be an email address so I've tried all of mine and all of my passwords in the box, it doesn't seem to be accepting any of them. Also according to my service provider and my sisters blackberry it's not supposed to be requesting any type of username or password there. I have three email accounts: Google mail, Window's live mail and my blackberry email account. My service provider is 3 UK.

All of a sudden the phone couldn't automatically log into my yahoo email. I've changed the password and everything. Now I deleted the account from the phone and tried adding it again. It says "authentication failed, verify username and password". I'm 100% certain both are correct.
