IPhone :: Will 30 Minutes In Direct Sunlight Damage 4S?
Apr 28, 2012
I left my iPhone on the table and I came back in about 30 minutes later to find it in direct sunlight, will this damage the iPhone in any shape, way, or form? For example, the display, battery, etc.?
I have a problem with my touch screen. It works for 1 or 2 minutes and then it stops working for 2 or 3 minutes, this is a loop ! if I don't use for a couple of hours it will work more, about 15 minutes and then stops working !!! whats wrong with may iphone, which part is damaged ?:(( when touch screen stops working, all keys work correctly, home key & others )
Even though I'm eligible for iPhone 4 upgrade and love my iPhone 3G I'm seriously considering switching to VZW simply because at&t is intolerable here in NYC (first it was data, now it's voice).I set my sights on Incredible and played with it at the VZW store. I can live with it fine. One thing that concerns me is screen visibility under sunlight. I use iPhone quite a lot on the street and really grew to appreciate how visible its screen. Any opinions from those who used both phones on how Incredible stacks in this regard against iPhone?
I was in the the winter sun today and my iphone 4s was sitting on the table for about 30mins in direct sunlight. when i went to leave i noticed a yellow patch on the middle left side of the screen. has anyone heard of this happening and if so is it fixable. my phone is still under warranty.
I am running the latest insider build on Lumia 950 (OS .36, firmware .02020). I am sure before the updates there have been an option to turn on sunlight readability enhacements. However, cannot find it anywhere in the settings, Extras including, anymore.
I keep playing with the settings I want my Screen to stay lit when I am outdoors? I got this clear black display, and I go in sunlight, and it dimms so much I cannot see it at all. I have played with a bunch of settings and it keeps doing it?
So I had my bold for about 3 months now... I'm always constantly on it; always checking BBM's and text messages. One day I noticed that the cursor would move as I am typing a message. I was like wtf but I ignored it... then it kept happening and I noticed that this only happened when I was outside and had my phone out...
I tried using my phone under my desk lamp and there's nothing wrong it. It's something about the sunlight when I'm using my phone that makes the trackpad move in different directions.
Has anyone else run across this issue? If I have the Nokia 808 in Creative mode and manually adjust the ISO, sometimes I get dark images. This is in bright daylight with my subject completely visible and well-lit in the view finder. It doesn't really matter what the ISO setting is, the pictures will come out dark. If I choose Automatic and then back to Creative, it will "fix" it.
That's not entirely true. I don't know what fixes it. But it will return to normal. I tried to make it happen before writing this note, but could not repeat it indoors. It's possible the bright sunlight was part of the problem...as if the 808 overcompensated for all the light.that gave me an idea...looking at the EXIF properties of the dark images, Lightsource is "Unknown".On the properly exposed images, it says "Daylight". Perhaps this is a clue?
My N8 screen is going black whenever I am making calls in the bright sunlight. So I cannot view the dialler at all and unable to end the calls. This problem really annoys me a lot.
The camera is beast when I click in shadows, night or other places. But when it comes to sunlight, it fails badly. I've tried multiple settings but it just don't work. Due to photo editing apps in Lumia. They are best editing apps & I'm able to correct them though it.
When I click a photo of someone in sunlight, it puts yellow tint all over him and everywhere else. Skin colour also changes to full yellowish.
Can I upgrade my iP5s from 7.0.6 direct to 7.1.2? With all the problems i've read on 7.1.1 I and wondering if i can update directly from 7.0.6 to 7.1.2? Â
7.0.6 is really stable and battery life has been good thus far.Â
W shooting video in bright sunlight the LCD screen on Samsung S5 smart phone blocks out the screen from the clare. How do I correct that to have a clear LCD to look at.
I have recently purchased an iPhone 4s and a lifeproof case. I'm trying to attempt a mounting idea for in my truck. I've decided to glue a piece of metal onto the back of my phone, and attach a speaker magnet behind my dash. It holds rather well, but I've read much about people saying the magnet can damage the screen. If it's behind my dash, opposite of the front, does it still do any damage?
Looks like Apple confirmed you can get unlocked iPhones at Apple stores. Too bad you still have to go with AT&T for 3G.I wonder if this changes the mandatory data plan?
I'm wonder if you could help me. Recently I can't download apps from appstore to my iphone with my apple ID. But if I use someone's apple ID to download apps to my iphone. It work fine. My apple ID can download from itune only.
shut down a program directly and have the CHOICE of minimizing it to the dock. With the issue of battery running out pretty fast (even if taking meassures) I really don´t see how Apples developers were thinking here. The best (only) option I have found so far is a "hack" making the icons wiggle directly when double tapping the home button, but that clearly has some down sides to it.
My iPhone 4S (iOS 5.1) was not quite two weeks old, and had experienced none of the overheating problems that are reported sporadically in various fora. Then, last night, I shot a 21-minute video. By the end the phone was fairly hot, though it did not shut down or display the green-triangle "overheated" image. I stopped the video and noticed that the left-hand quarter of the touchscreen no longer worked: for example, nothing happened when any icons in the left-hand column of any screen were touched. Display was unaffected, but nothing (cooling down, cycling power, resetting the phone, etc) restored the touchscreen function.
I took the phone to an Apple store today and they gave me a new one, saying this is a problem that they hadn't seen (which they always say, of course). But I'm still curious because my first stop was the Verizon store across the street, where I bought the phone in the first place. The Verizon folks told me that (1) they would not replace the phone, because (2) it sounded to them that I might have voided my warranty, on account of shooting a continuous 21-minute video, as (3) this overheating during video recording and trashing the screen was a known issue in iPhone 4Ss, which I should have known about, and at any rate (they stated emphatically), iPhones were not designed for long video shoots. Not only had I not heard any of this, I had heard the contrary many times, so I'm still wondering whether they were just trying to BS me or whether there really have been similar reports that just hadn't got publicized yet.
The other day I dropped my phone in the ocean, but was able to put it into a bag of rice and let it sit for 24 hours afterwards. It works fine now except for it won't charge. Yesterday I let it die and then plugged it in overnight. The next afternoon when I turned it on it was fully charged. I was hoping that that was the trick, but the next time I tried it wouldn't work. It isn't recognizing being plugged into a wall or my computer. It's a Japanese iPhone if that makes any difference... I've tried cleaning out the USB port on the phone, but that hasn't made any difference.Â
A year ago I bought a iPhone 4 from Apple direct as I had a Sony Orange monthly contrct phone that broke and Orange would not replace the phone for me. So I made my normal SIM into a micro SIM and have used my Orange SIM in my iPhone for a year. My contract with orange is now at the end of its term and I have bought a Iphone SIM only Tesco 12 month contract deal.
The SIM arrived but when I put it in it states that there is "No Service" - now this has confused me as I thought if I bought the phone direct from Apple it would be unlocked - I can not call Orange and get an unlock code as the phone they have registered for me to use is a Sony phone?
I have tried doing a factory restore with my phone and logging onto itunes but Tesco (o2) is not listed as a provider?
How do I unlock it?
I need to get it unlocked at a shop but don't they just hack into it or I need to Jailbreak it but again I thought if I do this I will have problems with updates etc with the phone?
Long time listener, first time caller. If anyone can help, y'all can.Small amount of water entered top of iPhone. Phone kept working, he plugged it in and charged it (car charger) - a few hours later went to take a photo and phone quit working. (After searching, I realize we should not have plugged it in.)
I had him put it in a bag of rice, and kept fingers crossed. No luck yet, but it's only been a day. I suggested leaving it sit and not trying to keep turning it on. I realize it may never come back, but the bigger problem is the texts and phone call history, which really we need to recover. I see from searching that it's not stored on the SIM card. The phone has not been synced or backed up w/iTunes recently. I'd love to have the phone back, but if it stays dead is there any way to recover that text/call data?
I have a new iPhone 4 and a cup of water fell on it today. The water damage indicators did not turn red but they both now have a gray spot on them both. Is this an indicator of water damage for apple?
