With jail break 3GS 3.1.3, can one connect it to a wireless router that has a USB port for an aircard, but instead of using an ATT aircard, use the iphone w/ a USB card ? Would like to do this because for my purposes I have both laptop an desktop running, but use them for different things.

May 8, 2010I have my cell service through T-Mobile and recently upgraded to a Bold 9700 with internet service. I can browse the internet over the 3G network and at a Hot Spot location using the Wi-Fi. What I can't do is access the internet through my wireless router at home. The Netgear router (WPN824 v3) works fine through the cable modem for laptops and my daughter's Motorola Click smartphone. When I turn off the 3G network, I get a "can't find the server message".

Jun 15, 2010I recently moved and since then, I am experiencing now signal at my new house. I called TMO several times and they have issued several work tickets, all coming back saying there was a problem with the towers but has been resolved. I am still experiencing the same problem.
I was informed that I could get a wireless router for my home so I would get great signal. i would just have to hook it up to my computer and then whenever I am home, my phone will go through that for signal, hence giving me 5 bars as opposed to the 1 bar and constant switching between 3g, edge and gprs.
I guess I really don't understand how that works, what kind of router to by and if I will be charged anything extra from TMO for using that.

Jun 7, 2010I've been using Samsung S5620 Monte (S5620 Onix in Spain; S5620 Star 3G in Brazil) for a few days now. It's a nice phone, but I can't get WiFi to work in WPA2-PSK(AES) mode with my DLink DI-524 wireless router. I can get the phone to connect in open, WEP or WPA modes, at home and also in public wireless networks, but there's no way to get it to work in WPA2 mode (which is my protocol of choice).
My wireless router log keeps saying that the phone has associated and then immediately disassociated because “WPA retey failed”. The DI-524 is running with the latest firmware update (hardware code B4, firmware version 2.07). It seems to be a Monte protocol issue, since both my Nokia E71 phone and my Dell Vostro notebook can easily connect to my home wireless network using WPA2. Is anybody facing the same problem? Is there any way to solve it? Does Samsung intend to release a firmware update soon?

Dec 9, 2010I recently bought a Nokia C3-00 WiFi phone but I can't seem to browse my home wireless connection with it. The phone can detect and connect with the wireless network successfully but when I open my mobile browser, it can't load websites, saying "Service not available."However, I can connect and browse the internet through other WiFi hotspots, just not my home connection. The router I'm using is LP-8616. It's an AP router, if that helps. Unfortunately, there's no firmware upgrade for this router anymore.

However since it has a cap on data per month I want it to be secondary to several other unlimited WiFi networks such as my office WiFi, home WiFi, free WiFi hotspots, etc. Is there any work around to make the MiFi wireless (or any permanent wireless network) 2nd to all other recognized networks? This is the ideal set-up for my iPhone 4 and iPad 2 WiFi. I don't want to have to turn the MiFi on and off constantly, I want it on in the background as a seamless secondary option. I appreciate any insight and find it odd that you cannot prioritize networks. Meaning if I "forgot this network" and start over will the 1st joined or most recent joined become primary when there are multiple networks available?

Jun 12, 2011My wife has a bb 9300 3g on os6 and everything has been fine.However somehow she has screwed up the wi-fi settings.The phone will not connect to our home router and displays the rror message " failed to obtain an IP address".I hve tried everything on the phone from
- Removing the wi-fi setting and reentering them.
- Entering the details manually
- Removing the battery and rebooting the phone
- Reinstally the os over the computer
Nothing seems to work. I know the router is fine as I have the same phone and it connects ok along with several other devices.Has anyone any suggestions before I reset the phone to factory setting?

Since then I have changed the WPA Key and even removed it completely so that there is no password and it still does not connect. BB Curve 8900 :: UMA Connectivity - Phone Locks When Making / Receiving Calls Get Cut Off And Router Crashes
Mar 14, 2010The main reason i bought the phone.Was because of a virtually non existent signal on the Orange network.(dropping calls etc).Anyway. To cut a long story short.It will find UMA.But takes an age to lock on.And sometimes when making /receiving calls i get cut off and my router crashes (loses internet connection)!If i go into my wifi settings in my phone (wifi diagnostics). Under UMA it says 'UMA connection failed'.But no 'error' code!!
I have checked my router setings and everything seems ok as it does on my phone.
But this morning i contacted AOL router support and they told me that it will not be the router but an issue with the phone!
While i am typing this.It has just found UMA (after approx 1 hour of trying) but if i make a call or receive one , i will more than likely be cut off.I forgot to mention that i have a 'speedtouch'(thompson) router. And am thinking of asking AOL for a 'Netgear'!Would this help?Although my laptop and xbox 360 run just fine via the speedtouch with no problems whatsoever

May 4, 2012Wireless sync only works when I unlock phone. Is there a way to tell itunes my phones unlock code? Itunes tries to sync all night and posts 50 unknown errors.
