my iphone start make Update and in itunes Said UNKNOWN ERROR so it stops but my phone is still open and has the Apple and loading line but it isnt loading and i cant trun it off or restart or smthink and in itunes isnt Show anything
View 4 RepliesThis is happening to me today, it's forced me to change my password once already as the error seems to be based around my ID... Can't really try it again as I don't want to have to change my password again tonight! It happens when trying to update and trying to install an app from scratch.

A few days ago my Iphone 5 screen went black and would not turn on or anything but it would still vibrate and if i held down the home button the little siri sound would go off. This had happened once before a short while ago and i just let the phone die all the way then charged it and it worked fine so that's what i did this time. When it came back on this time though, it was still just black but it would also be flashing the apple logo.
I tried a bunch of things that people were suggesting online and watched youtube vidoes but nothing seemed to work, also every once in a while it would go to the lock screen and i swiped and pushed home and stuff and nothing would happen it just said it was searching where it would usually say verizon. Once while the screen was doing this i held power and the home button which is what many of these youtube videos said to do and it worked, telling me to connect it to itunes for the recovery process.
Once it was connected to itunes i tried to update it to ios8 and it seemed to be working at first but then it said unkown error and when i tried to restore it the same thing happened, i tried both of these multiple times with the same result.

I am using this experia8 in India. Since, after buying I have never been able to see my phone number in the phone status menu. Is this feature not enabled for use in India? Since, I see some discussion going on for eg "phone number not updating after switching of sim card". Does not affect my usage but I am bit curious as the option is there. after dropping my Iphone 4 on the floor it can't connect to my PC, the error i am getting in Itunes is "Itunes was not able to establish connection to this iphone, caused by unknown error 0xE8000001". Itunes suggest to go into an applestore and get it solved but since third party has replaced the screen will apple not touch it....I have tred to uninstall itunes after closing down a few apple files via "task manager" and hard restored the Iphone but the phone will not acctivate, only get to the screen saying "connect to itunes". when i plug in a fully functional USB cable in a fully functional USB plug in my PC (windows 7, 64bit) does the phone connect and disconnect with the PC a few times, sometimes it keep on connecting/disconnecting but when the phone able to establish connection do i get a box saying "error 0xE8000001" and when clicking on the phone can i see its charging the battery but no possibilities to make a firmware restore or anything els. (have only the option to "eject" the iphone). is it possible to go one more step back than "hard restore" so the phone need to reinstall all hardware ect ect?

I'm trying to update to 4.0 with jailbreak using a custom cooked ipsw file with Snowbreeze 1.6.1 and keep getting error "The iPhone could not be restored. An unknown error occurred (2)."
I've tried both DFU mode AND Recovery mode. I also remembered to remove Saurik's server ip in the hosts file. I've tried uninstalling / reinstalling iTunes and rebooting. I even removed WiFi Sync software thinking that might have affected it somehow. I've uninstalled my vs/firewall software. NOTHING seems to work.
