I was wondering that if I get new iPhone this week, will I be able to use the back ups from my old one and will it load up texts etc. on my new iPhone too?I really don't want to lose my texts. Is there a way to transfer?

because i heard that it will sync everything to same, so my WinXP will also have my Win7 email while Win7 has all the mp3 and movies. This I must avoid.So is iTune doing all the jobs necessary?

I have a problem with the headphone jack thinking there are headphones in it when they are not sometimes.I was wondering what I need to do leading up to and once I get my replacement? I have used the Desktop Manager Backup program to backup my files. That should take care of my calender, memo, contacts, SMS and any files and stuff on my device....but what about apps. That is what I'm unsure about. How well do those transfer since they have licenses/registration codes?I have bought DynoStorm, Fingerprint Scanner, PatternLock, WeatherBug Elite from App World. From what I have read all I need to do is start App World on my new device and those apps will load on the new device from App World without a problem? Is this true?I have bought BerryBuzz, Call Blocker Pro, Meter Berry, Mileage Meter, QuickLaunch and SmrtGuard(1 Year Subscription) from MobiHand. From what it looks like I can use the Change Device ID and it will generate new codes for me on my new device? Is this all I have to do? Can anybody verify this or tell me what I do need to do for these apps?I have other free apps but those I can just download again.The last thing I'm curious how it will transfer or if it will be a problem is my one theme I have bough Halycon from Elecite. The older phone has malfunctioned, and I can't use the keypad, but it still recongizes the software when plugged in, and i can charge it - this is why the data couldn't be transfered from my old phone to the new one at the Verizon store. So, I want all the contacts, my to-do lists/memopads, etc transfered into the new phone using Blackberry Manager on my PC (Vista). So i selected the 'Device Transfer Wizard" from the main menu, and followed instructions - i get an error message that tells me, basically, I "need to remove some applications from my existing device because there is not enough space on the new device to accomodate them:" I don't get this - the new phone has 256mb memory compared to 32mb in the old phone, and I don't even have apps on there except facebook (I tried to delete my apps on the old phone and all it showed me as having was Facebook.So, I tried un-checking various boxes on the screen that asks what i want to transfer, and even with them all un-checked it still tells me there is not enough room to transfer.Am I doing this wrong? i just want my contacts and to-do lists transfered to the new phone - I don't know what this thing about the "applications" and such is about but I just want my data transfered.I will say that the Blackberry Manager application that I have is very slow, non-intuitive, and generally a huge pain in the **bleep** to work with - I would think that a slick tech company like Blackberry would have a far better program than this "Blackberry Manager".. I am impressed with the Blackberry phones but dread using that Blackberry Manager every time I need to (such as when putting anew ringtone on my phone).

AI have a router, I have a nokia usb cable. and I have ovi suite. However it wont transfer music files unless I have a memory card inserted, I dont know what to do. I installed ovi files and transfered my custom ringtone that way and it worked but I'm looking for something simpler. Like actually navigating the phones folders and transfering it that way, be it any file, txt doc img, jpg mp3 mp4 ect. I tried using connect as "mass storage device" and connect as "media transfer" neither option works for me. I am running windows 7 professional 64 bit. The only way I was able to get my custom ringtone on the phone was installing and signing up for ovi files. I would like to use my usb cable or router exclusively in the future.

I'm migrating from an iPhone 4 (iOS 6) to the Icon and tried without much success to transfer text messages to my new phone. I was able to transfer contacts successfully... and the Text Message option does appear when I pair my iPhone, but is says "0 Found," quite the contrary from what is actually on the phone. Since it seems like the transfer app wants to work, any trick to make it happen.

However, some of the text messages and notes have not been synced? Also, when i try and sync her 4 in its entirety, i.e not just notes and contacts, but music and movies aswell, it says it has been synced with another itunes library and do i want to erase the data.

View 5 Replies View RelatedI have new Nexus 6 with custom Recovery and rotted, stock 5.1 ROM.
I was just setting the phone up for the first time, when I had to reboot. Upon reboot, I was informed that my data was corrupt and I would have to reset my phone.
The factory reset process took around 1 hour. Now, I can't boot into the ROM. I am stuck on the four bouncing around coloured balls.
Accessing the Recovery Mode, shows a Android robot waggling its ears. This remains seemingly permanently. Eventually I press Home and the Volume buttons. This results in a blank screen with only the words "Formatting /data..." appearing on the bottom left of the screen in tiny yellow text, as in the below image:
This last for a long time before the Recovery options eventually appear.
Have I bricked my phone?
I have an s5 on verizon. Every time I receive a picture text from anyone , it turns off mobile data and the 4g turns grey. I am unable to download the photo until I go into settings and place the checkmark back for mobile data. This occurs whether I'm on wifi or not.

View 2 Replies View RelatedAT&T and iPhone data use charges - WiFi and cellular link options Many people have complained about unusual data usage charges on their AT&T iPhone bills -- often 10s of megabytes in one transaction, posted in the middle of the night. Here are a couple of updates based on the AT&T support portal: WiFi vs cellular link: Connecting to a local WiFi hotspot and turning off your cellular data connection will block cellular data transmission and related charges. (Except for SMS messages, which are very small.) There are some gotchas, however: (a) If your iPhone goes 'to sleep' (the screen goes black), it will revert to the cellular data link, unless it is plugged into a charger. (b) Even if your iPhone is plugged into a charger, it will revert to a cellular data connection if the WiFi link drops, e.g. due to a momentary glitch with your internet provider or electric power supply, so.... (c) The only way to completely ensure that your iPhone will not revert to a cellular data connection is to turn it completely off. You (obviously) will not be able to receive calls, however.
Large data transactions in the middle of the night: Unusually large 'chunks' of data that are apparently sent around midnight are a related issue. You may think that you could avoid these mystery charges by making sure you have a WiFi connection running at night. A number of 'czars' on AT&T's site stated, however, that this is are simply an artifact of AT&T's billing system, which "aggregates" transactions that occur throughout the day into one summary charge, which is posted in the middle of the night. If this is accurate, the data connection(s) you use throughout the day will determine how large this 'summary' transaction will be.
Note: Our bill does not appear to square with AT&T's explanation. For example:

I checked out my data usage on the att website and it turns out surprisingly that i consistently use under 200mb a month.
1. I beejive im every work day for at least 2 hours on edge(don't tell my boss) but it suprisingly only comes out to only about 4mbs per day (if i used 3g would the data consumption be higher?)
2. I maybe use slingplayer 1 day a month on 3g (sad) about 10mbs i think
3. I grab email manually by opening up the mail app maybe twice a day max.
Do you think i should switch asap? or is it best recommended to view iphone 4 data usage first in case i upload 720p video (which i doubt they will let you do)
I bought an iPhone 3GS off a guy on craigslist and it works great, no complaints. But every few minutes or so I get the alert saying that I "Cannot activate cellular data network - You are not subscribed to a cellular data service", and it's really annoying because it lights up my iPhone all the time and kills my battery. It's also really annoying - it comes up whenever I'm typing a message or playing a game; literally when I do ANYTHING on my phone. I do not have a data plan, but I have used 'unlockit.co.nz' to install a Fake APN to my iPhone to block data. Rogers has also given me a data block. This has been going on ever since I bought the phone, I thought installing a Fake APN would stop it but I guess not. I can't really restore since I have a lot of stuff on this iPhone already.. but if that's the only option then I will be forced to. I used to have an unlocked Fido 3G (about 2 months ago) without data and it never gave me this alert, do you think it has something to do with my 3GS being locked to Rogers?
This phone is a jailbroken iPhone 3GS (model MC143C) running version 3.1.3 (7E18) and locked to the "Rogers 5.0" network. If it helps the modem firmware is 05.12.01.if there are no real solutions, I still have 2 months left on my warranty. Would Apple fix it or give me a new one if I un-jailbreak it?
Still struggling to get to grips with my new iPhone 4S....Reading the User Guide it says "to turn Cellular Data off go to Settings/General/Network then turn Cellular Data off".The only problem with my phone is that "Cellular Data" does not appear in the Network screen. However "Mobile Data" does.is it the the same thing?For cost reasons I would like to be in control of when I use the internet and already I have inadvertantly incurred charges without being aware that I had gone on to the internet.Will selecting "Mobile Data" to "OFF" solve my problem.
