IPhone :: Monthly Bill With TMobile With Unlimited Data & Text Plan Along With 500mins
Mar 10, 2010
With the iPhone, I'm paying $71 a month for TMobile with the Unlimited Data & Text plan along with 500mins. I have my office Blackberry, so normally I just use that to call people, so no big deal on the lack of phone mins. What are you guys paying? I'm looking to reduce my monthly bill somehow.
I'm almost 100% certain that my parents will buy me an iPhone. My parents and I are currently with T-Mobile and will switch for the iPhone 4G/HD/whatever it's called. But I was browsing around AT&T's site and it seems you need to pay $30 for each iPhone's data plan on a family plan. Basically, if I wanted 3 iPhones in one family plan, then I would have to pay $90 a month for the data plan for all 3. Is this true?
my parents have had DSL and home phone plans with att (~$75/month for both) and their wireless with t-mobile (~$150/month for 3 lines) for years. now that i'm getting the iphone 4 i'm thinking about getting the "triple bundle" (DSL, home phone, wireless).
I'm looking to potentially acquire a friends iphone and plan with unlimited data. Can he transfer responsibility if he ports his number to another provider? Do I need to keep his phone number or can I port mine to the phone on the account? I've heard MANY conflicting statements and wondering if anyone has a solution. I'm looking for the best way of getting unlimited data.
My question here is,if I have the unlimited data plan on my iPhone 4S,can I add the personal hotspot feature without changing my data plan? I know that personal hotspot is an extra charge but i'd like to keep my unlimited data while still being able to use the personal hotspot.
Verizon Wireless now has a really good hotspot tethering plan for 4G phones. For $30/mo you get unlimited 4G tethering on your phone which is a bargain compared to the tablet plans especially considering 4G is 10x the 3G speeds. It makes we want to run out now and get a Samsung Charge so I can drop my 3gB Xoom plan. I'm going to stick with my Xoom data for now and hold out a three or four weeks for the Bionic. Hopefully Verizon won't change this offer before the Bionic comes out.
I currently have a Curve 8320 with Tmobile, BB unlimited e-mail, and no data plan. This works really well, since all I use it for is email and calendar. I occasionally use the internet at home using WiFi. And email service is only $10/month. I'm thinking of getting an 8520, but want to make sure my BB email still works fine with no data plan. I know Tmobile won't sell you one unless you get data service. Anyone own an 8520 without a data plan?
I'm going to France in a week, and just to make sure I don't run up a huge T-Mobile phone bill, what connections etc. shall i disable before I go? I don't want any roaming charges or whatever.
My family is all on the same AT&T plan and I want to join them (they don't have smartphones though). If I need the 2GB of data and unlimited messaging, how much extra will that tack onto their bill, if the minutes and everything stay the same? I will be paying my portion of the bill, by the way.
I bought my sprint iPhone 4s because AT&T is throttling my data connection. I having been using my AT&T razor for a data connection since before the term "tethering" was invented. For those of you who are thinking of switching to sprint because AT&Ts is throttling your unlimited data plan.....don't...the data connection with sprint and the iPhone 4s is actually slower than my old AT&T razor throttled and the sprint plan is more significantly more expensive. For this reason and because ever since I downloaded my first app I have been spammed relentlessly and because Siri is really a beta app and because the iPhone locks up on occation, I am giving my iPhone back to sprint.
I will start by saying that I did/do like the service/price of Red Pocket. I mean you $49.99 for "Unlimited Everything" except data, No Contract etc... Very appealing to me that was for sure. However, I recently found out that there isn't always TRUTH in Advertising!!! After weeks in the field training Soldiers for Combat, I finally got a Weekend off. So Naturally my phone got a little busy especially since it was also my Birthday Weekend (we call this "Peek Traffic"). Being a Single Soldier I had multiple "Lady Friends" communicating with me that wanted to spend time and celebrate with me during my minimal time off. However, unknown to me Red Pocket has their system set so that if you send/receive 1,000 texts in a 24hr period the system will automatically turn off your texting ability. When I called in to figure out why text wasn't working the Operator (can't call them Customer Service Reps as they don't have enough training and that would require them to actually Resolve your issues and make the Customer happy) said that it was cut off because I had 1,000 texts in a 24 hour period and that is considered "Unreasonable Use (UU)" according to their "Terms and Conditions (TC)". She just kept repeating that phrase and talking about the 1000 texts like I was so wrong and I was a horrible person for it. When the fact was I usually don't use it that much but had been in an Army Exercise for weeks and was my first day off and out of the woods in weeks. yes I was talking to several women at once and having "individual"conversations with each of them. Isn't that what men do? Especially men that have been in Combat Training for weeks with no chance to socialize and talk to any ladies?
I read the TC para III (b) and no where does it mention anything about 1000 texts in a 24 hour period and it says that texts are allowed unlimited provided that it's for conversations between individuals. This is what Red Pocket's definition in the TC is: "UNLIMITED text services are provided solely for live messaging purposes between two individuals" (this was taken directly from their TC). This was exactly the type of messages that I had during that period. This is what the TC says can allow Red Pocket to disconnect your text: "UNLIMITED text services may not be used for Premium SMS which utilizes short codes, SMS chat programs, monitoring services, data transmissions, or other connections that do not consist of uninterrupted live messaging purposes between two individuals." Can someone Please tell me how these two phrase equate to an Operator telling me that my use was Unreasonable? Especially since this is their definition of Unreasonable? It also says that prior to RP taking any action that they would notify the user. I wasn't ever notified and they just turned it off the afternoon before my Birthday and during conversations with my lady friends. Then the operator said it was impossible to turn back on unless I purchased a new plan. A new plan??? This one was only 13 days old... Why would I pay another $49.99 just to get text messaging? She also said that there was no one else to speak with about it and that there was no supervisor. Now I can understand why they wrote the TC like they did. They wrote it so that Companies and idiots can't purchase one of their plans and spam people with advertisements and such and send out thousands of texts for business purposes etc... But These texts were not for any business purposes.. They were for Socialization Coordination Efforts commonly referred to as "booty calls"... All they had to do was look and could have been able to tell that easily. But at least as a Customer Service Rep, you should at least be able to resolve a customer's issue and make them happy to keep them as a customer. Especially something as simple as turning text back on and offering a warning or something. So beware All.... Unlimited to Red Pocket means find a reason to turn off your service and force you to Purchase an Additional Plan. So maybe their definition of Unlimited is an unlimited scheme to get your money. I am writing this for two purposes: 1. Because Red Pocket needs to be aware that their Employees are incompetent at Customer Service and Because there doesn't`1 seem to be any leadership when you call there. 2. For the amusement of others to laugh at such a lengthy post regarding the loss of Text messages. Because on the grand scheme of things this is a small thing. But hey if no one ever says anything about them or to them, then they will continue to treat others like that.
Ive looked about everywhere, with every phrase i could think of Is there a way to easily track your monthly data usage? i know iv seen some people with it at the top status bar, but i cant seem to find it or what its called.
Right now I'm on a TELUS family plan with 4 people and there are no iPhones. I want to get an iPhone and have it on the family plan but also not buy a data plan. Is it possible to do this? So basically my plan would be around $25 a month with unlimited text and caller ID.
First of all, does streaming music from pandora/slacker/last.fm take away from my monthly allotment of data? I assume so. Does anyone know of a music service that does NOT use up my data? I don't have wifi at work nor while I'm bike riding the two places I stream music.
I want to share my two cents with ya'. Now that ATT is taking away the unlimited data plans from the iPhones, then ATT should not make customers get the mandatory data plans, it should be up to the customers to get data. I think ATT is the worst phone company in the US, but we have no other options, the monopoly will end when Verizon will get the iphone later next year. The iphone is the best mobile phone, but when you combine ATT in the mix, it lowers the satisfaction to customers. I am really fed up with att, to a point that I am buying an Iphone and immediately unlock it to use it with any other company except ATT.
My mother gave me a blackberry curve 8320 from t-mobile that is unlocked. My current carrier is verizon. Can I use my new blackberry with my current provider?
I have the 8520, and have no data plan with my carrier in my post payment plan, i thought , since i have wi-fi at home, office and tons of hot spots. I can use my BB to access the web using free wi-fi as i have been doing with my last 4 smartphones.Big mistake. i have been charged 55 us last month, for data transfer use , i ran to my planŽs assistance office ( telcel in Mexico ), and the answer i got was. you have to get a data plan from us to be able to use wi-fi ( obviuosly i stared at her , just nodding my head ).There is no point in having a device that has acces to wi fi networks , if i cant access the wi fi network without you data plan, so i got the lady to bring the tech guy. His response was...naaahhh...it will access the wi fi. but weŽll charge u anyway. you need to disable the network from the phone and only leave the wi fi option on so you can access without any other charge, but this will leave you with no phone connection.
Is this real? did i just spend 399us in a gadget that has wi fi capabilities but will not be able to get on any wi fi connection form home or work, without being charged for data transmission over my cell providers network?cmon this sounds as stupid as it does in my head ? i would be really disapointed if i just left my old Nokia E71 SPhone, for this beautiful BB Curve 8520 THAT DOES NOT CONNECT TO THE WI Fi.
I was just wondering what happens if you turn on internet tethering on the iPhone 4 when you have the unlimited data plan? Are you charged an extra fee for tethering? How does AT&T know?
In another thread various monthly data use amounts were discussed.I have an (grand fathered) unlimited plan, so data use is irrelevant. But I wondered what is the average monthly data consumption. This month is atypical for me at less than 200 megs so far. Usually it is more like a gig or more. What is your monthly data use?
I checked out my data usage on the att website and it turns out surprisingly that i consistently use under 200mb a month.
1. I beejive im every work day for at least 2 hours on edge(don't tell my boss) but it suprisingly only comes out to only about 4mbs per day (if i used 3g would the data consumption be higher?)
2. I maybe use slingplayer 1 day a month on 3g (sad) about 10mbs i think
3. I grab email manually by opening up the mail app maybe twice a day max.
Do you think i should switch asap? or is it best recommended to view iphone 4 data usage first in case i upload 720p video (which i doubt they will let you do)
I bought an iPhone 3GS off a guy on craigslist and it works great, no complaints. But every few minutes or so I get the alert saying that I "Cannot activate cellular data network - You are not subscribed to a cellular data service", and it's really annoying because it lights up my iPhone all the time and kills my battery. It's also really annoying - it comes up whenever I'm typing a message or playing a game; literally when I do ANYTHING on my phone. I do not have a data plan, but I have used 'unlockit.co.nz' to install a Fake APN to my iPhone to block data. Rogers has also given me a data block. This has been going on ever since I bought the phone, I thought installing a Fake APN would stop it but I guess not. I can't really restore since I have a lot of stuff on this iPhone already.. but if that's the only option then I will be forced to. I used to have an unlocked Fido 3G (about 2 months ago) without data and it never gave me this alert, do you think it has something to do with my 3GS being locked to Rogers?
This phone is a jailbroken iPhone 3GS (model MC143C) running version 3.1.3 (7E18) and locked to the "Rogers 5.0" network. If it helps the modem firmware is 05.12.01.if there are no real solutions, I still have 2 months left on my warranty. Would Apple fix it or give me a new one if I un-jailbreak it?
Does retrieving music and data from iCloud use up the data plan usage? And is there an adapter that will allow me to charge the iPhone with the standard charging cord for Blackberry and Android?
Does anyone know what happens if you get an (activated) iPad micro-SIM and put it in a PC data card? Grabbing the $30/month for unlimited data before it goes away would be attractive if it works.
I'm aware I'd have to get a micro-SIM to SIM adaptor, but what else? Change the APN my PC uses? Does AT&T check the IMEI? I've been searching but no one seems to have tried it, unless my search-fu skills are failing me.
i have unlimited blackberry data plan. the other day i watchd a video on Internet. since then my balance is deducting on data usage. i called the customer care, they said it was because i activated network browser on opening Internet instead of blackberry browser.
I am currently using a Droid RAZR but would like to switch back to my Droid 2 Global for a short time. On the Verizon site I get a message during activation saying my unlimited data plan is not compatible and I am given other data options. Unlimited is included in the list so I am not worried about switching TO the old phone. My question is this:
If you are reactivating a 4G device coming from a 3G-only device, will you lose your grandfathered unlimited data plan on Verizon?
