I send a text to my friend and when he replies it comes back as a totally different conversation. There is only one number for that person in my phone and that is the number I use when I text.

Frequently, my texts and imessages won't send, the little sending bar stops a little before the end. So I close my messaging app and reopen it to find all the spaces where my text conversations are now replaced with blank spaces. After a few seconds, the "write new message" window opens, and I am able to choose a contact to send to and type a message but the send button doesn't work.
Closing and reopening the app again makes no change. In addition, photos are also blurred, and completely freeze the screen when I tap them. So far my only temporary solution has been to do a reset by holding the home and power buttons, but it only lasts a short while (10 minutes?) before the above problem repeats itself. I am becoming very tired of restarting my phone, and even after restarting, the conflict is not always resolved. I have thought about getting a new phone, although mine is only a year and a half old, but I fear the problem will carry over onto a new phone if perhaps the issue is too many photos and messages?

My phone has suddenly stopped showing all existing text conversations and is stuck in a mode where my only choices are to call or or get contact info. There is no message button on the top left to take me back to the existing conversations.

Yesterday my messages with my friend disappeared and when I try to text them through selecting new message and literally typing in their number, it will send it to my mother. It's only happening between my friend and my mother. Weirdest thing. I checked their contacts and there is no overlapping information.

So a buddy of mine included me in a group text and now I'm getting never ending texts from people I don't know. I told my friend to remove me, but I'm still getting them. I also unchecked the option in MMS for group conversations, but still getting them.

I then wont receive messages until hours later when I guess it finally has sent? Also, in my messaging its showing messages from years ago. View 4 Replies View RelatedSo, I've had this phone for almost 3 months now. I'm barely able to text one of the few people that I talk to. Most of the time, they do not receive my texts until a week later, sometimes longer. I used to have the galaxy s5 with sprint and this happened with them too. I now have t-mobile and i have talked to them several times about this. After a lot of persistence, they put in a trouble ticket for me and that corrected it for about a week, then it started up again. Now they closed it and are telling me that it could be sprint's fault. I don't know what could be. I know that at one point I was accidentally blocked by the person, but it seemed to start after I ported my number over to a new carrier. I just want an end to this. I'm tired of contacting t-mobile every week.

When I'm texting with John Smith, if John Smith sends me a text while I'm viewing our conversation, I will get a notification (i.e. sound, vibration, etc.) but not see the message. In fact, the button in the top left that takes me back to Messages will show that I have a new message by becoming "Messages(1)". When I exit the conversation to all of my messages, John Smith's conversation will have a blue dot indicating that he has sent me a new message, so now I must go back into our conversation in order to fully read the whole message.

Ever since the last hangouts update whenever I'm in a convo it no longer shows when the other participant is typing to me or when they are looking at the convo. Instead the profile pic that shows what they last read up to always shows gray like they don't have the convo open and when the person actually replies it just pops up with no typing notification. Same thing with my finance's nexus 4.

My texts are doing strange things for some reason. For example, when my daughter sends me a text it only comes up as her phone number, not her name. Also, I get a new text and it will not open unless I go and open the one before it, close it and then open the new one. Is this something only my Bold is doing? I did a search and did not come up with much. Any help would be great. It is not a huge deal and I have been dealing with it for some time but it is lame. Oh, it is not only my daughter who is also a Tmo customer but a friend on Sprint is also coming up as a number and not her name.

Occasionally, when I receive a text message, it displays the sender's correct phone number but the name displayed is that of a different contact. Even when I'm having a back-and-forth text conversation, one of the incoming texts will suddenly appear with someone else's name.

If I click on the pictures, they open as if they were a video, 'playing' anywhere from 5 - 10 seconds with a play bar below. Is it possible for phone conversations on iphone 4 to be recorded'? When I call some friends, I hear a rhythmic 'swishing' sound in the background. My friends have two separate conversations with me on their iPhones - texts are under my number and iMessages are under my email address. This makes it quite confusing when switching between the two. I've gone to Settings > Messages and the 'receive at' is set to my email address, is this right?
