Honestly, how bad is reception in Manhattan? Dropped calls all the time? Slow data and internet connection? Text messages coming through hours after they were sent? I always hear about these issues. How true are they?
View 7 Replies View RelatedIve had my Desire HD for around 5 months now and from day 1 I've noticed that the wifi reception of the handset is terrible, I literally have to be within 5 metres of my router in order to get a signal, if I move to another room the signal drops to 1 bar pretty much straight away and then once I begin browsing drops completely and reverts to 3g. As I say this has been pretty much from day 1 and since then the handset has been treated with great care so are these phones that bad for signal?
View 4 Replies View RelatedAfter weeks with the update I've noticed that my wifi reception seems to be pretty spotty. I know it's not my router because all my other devices have maintained the same performance as they always have. Most of the time I get half the signal I used to but sometimes I get no signal at all until I restart.

View 1 Replies View RelatedSo at first I thought that the Razr had a weak WiFi reception. So I decided to install a WiFi access point in my office, basically on my desk. I connected the Razr to it but yet, it still occasionally shows a low signal or drops the connection completely then reconnects, works for a bit then drops it again. I'm at a point where I had to turn WiFi off on my phone because it was draining my battery so fast from flipping between the Cellular network and WiFi network way to often. I also have a Glaxy Tab 7.0 Plus connected to the same access point and it never drops a connection and it shows 100% strong on the signal.
View 6 Replies View RelatedI need help getting cell tower reception on my phone. Using China Unicom as Network Carrier. I am located in Guangzhou China (a major metropolis). The problem is not with the SIM Card itself because it has been tested and placed in other phones & it works well. Reception Bars fluctuate between 0-2 bars at most, both in and outdoors.Have noticed these problems since upgrading the phone to IOS 5.0 & now also on 5.1.1. No problem with Wi-Fi Networks. I have also tried Resetting the Network & taking out the SIM Card and putting it back in, but this has not helped.

I know there are multiple threads out there discussing this and I looked at most of them but this is different. My 9700 has gotten great battery life since day one, but this weekend I went out to the desert and didn't use my phone much because I only had EDGE but it was dropping in and out constantly, I had a full charge on Thursday morning and when I got home Saturday afternoon I had 20% which is pretty damn good I'm not complaining about that. When I got home I charged it fully and then on the middle of the day on Sunday my batter was almost dead. Same thing Monday and same thing today. I fully charged it yesterday afternoon and this morning it was at 25% and I hardly used my phone yesterday. SOMETHING has happened to my battery life, I'm running 5.0.0593 which hasn't ever gotten me fantastic battery life but its been okay but now its just shot.
I haven't changed anything on my BB for this to happen so I'm posting here for ideas of what could be causing this, I've looked at programs running closed everything I can and do not have WIFI or bluetooth on and Have constant good 3G reception.
4 Reception vs. 3G/3GS reception
View 7 Replies View RelatedI have noticed recently that my Iphone 3GS only achieves speeds of about 6 Mbps when using the speedtest.net app to check. About 6 months ago I was achieving 12-14 Mbps. Also, my laptop (Though 802.11n) achieves 37 Mbps. I realise that my iphone 3GS only has b/g wifi technology, but surely it should be faster than it is, especially in relation to what it achieved before and also in relation to my laptop speeds?(I am running the latest OS)

i've just got my new iphone 4s, all set up ok but when i want to go on the internet through wifi, it is painfully slow.
connecting through 3g is fine, but wifi is a no go. the phone does recognise my network, just doesn't connect to the internet.

I just purchased the OtterBox for my iphone 4S, and it seems that now my wi-fi while at home is very very slow. Just wondering if the OtterBox could slow my connection, as I am not sure where on the iphone or how it connects (speaks) to my router.

The wireless internet speeds on my 32GB iPhone 3GS are painfully slow.I have an Airport Extreme router and my MacBook Pro and iPad are both great. Here are averages from 10x Speedtest.net (or their app) runs:
MacBook Pro: 15 Mbps down, 1 Mbps up, 70ms Ping
iPad: 14 Mbps down, 1 Mbps up, 90ms Ping
iPhone 3GS: 3 Mbps down, 0.5 Mbps up, 600-700ms Ping
When I ran the speed tests, each device was the only one operating on the wireless network at the time. I also tried 2 other speedtest apps on my iPhone and they produced similar results.Do you think Apple will replace my iPhone, or will they just tell me it's operating normally and to deal with it?
Just got 2 new iPhones and both have issues with wifi. It shows that they are connected but it's either so very slow or says server not responding. I never had any problems with my 3GS and I know the wireless is working.

I never had the issue with the 2G/3G/3GS, but once I got an iPhone 4 at launch and then the 4S, the issue has always been the same. It doesn't matter which network I connect to. Websites load incredibly slowly, apps download slowly, and it's impossible to stream anything or install an iOS update via wi-fi.
I connect to the same networks on my iPad 2 (as well as multiple laptops, both PCs and Macs) and it's always very, very fast.
The funny part to me is that the router is an AirPort Extreme, though I have the same issues with both Cisco and Netgear routers (haven't had any others to try).

I read a few posts yesterday about having slow WiFi speeds while Bluetooth is on. I couldn't figure why my speeds were so slow on WiFi at home and at my sister's house. Like barely over 1mbps. Then I saw the article , turned BT off and my speeds were over 25. I don't know if this is just an LG G3 issue or for others too after lollipop. I just got the LG Watch Urbane and this won't cut it if I want to keep this going. I use WiFi way more and will return the watch if I can't figure out a fix.

View 7 Replies View RelatedNow I would have thought my 9650 would be just as fast on the internet as my laptop is via wi-fi. WRONG! why is that? I have 3G also and its not very fast. Is it me? or just BB's in general?
View 4 Replies View RelatedPer the wifispeedtest, I have a signal strength of between 74 and 86%. Per a signal strength meter on my phone I have a signal of about -84 which to me is not that bad. I have a wilson signal booster in my house. It is approximately 30 feet from my computer and the phone itself is right there with the booster. I seem to get better service with it there. However, connection is slow and sometimes just goes away. I get 4g in and out where I live but it is spotty.Seems to me with such a signal, I should have better connection. Should I?

View 3 Replies View RelatedIs it just me or is the downloading of apps via WiFi really slow? Works fine on mobile network and browsing the web on WiFi works normally too, it's just downloading apps that's slow. Just reset my phone to fix my GPS (which seems to work now), at this rate it'll be a long time before my apps are downloaded again.

I'm experiencing very slow file uploads to any PC on my LAN.
Downloads (from PC to phone) = 10-15 MBps
Uploads (from Phone to PC) = 1 MBps
My WIFI network is 5G, target PCs are on a Gigabit wired connection.
I've tried several target PCs
Static IP for the phone
Rebooted the router
Rebooted device
Changed network to 2.4GHz
Why I'm seeing very slow upload of files ? I'm not even sure if this is normal ....
