IPhone :: Reservation Doesn't Guaranteed Phone At Launch
Jun 17, 2010
I just got off the phone with iPhone sales at Apple. I was told in no uncertain terms that a reservation just means that they have all your information and know what you want to buy when you show up at the store on launch day. It does NOT mean you're guaranteed a phone or that they're holding one for you. He recommended I get there super early and wait in line like everyone else.Apparently, the only people that are guaranteed a phone are those that managed to get a full paid pre-order through on the 15th.
Running OS 3.0 jailbroke and unlocked on a 8 gig 3G. Using Cincy Bell. Phone doesnt connect with Edge much anymore, and some times when E is present, still no cell data network connection. Signal strength is g2g.Also, phone will launch Cydia, but shortly after boots out of the program. I respring, restart, turn off, power and home key combo no luck.
A few days ago I updated my iPhone 3GS (Chinese mainboard) from iOS 5.0.1 to 5.1. But since then my messages app won't launch, no matter wether I access it from homescreen, multitasking or notification center. It only works sometimes when I go to contacts and send message. But even then it is slow and feels veeeery buggy. I tried to completely reset it, but nothing helped me.
So now that ATT is official sold out of pre-orders and who know if apple is or not, if you placed a reservation at a local Apple store is it guaranteed to be there on launch day? Also is there a separate line for those how have a reservation?
I did the backdoor move and reserved my iphone 4 through the apple store app, got the confirmation email and it told me that it will hold my phone until the end of launch day.but...I remember previous launches that despite the reservation the phones are moved on a first come - first serve basis which to me is pointless to even have reservations if thats the case. So what's the verdict.am i really guaranteed an iphone this time or should i plan to make a trip early to the store?
I bought the Atrix 2 today.Initial thoughts, the screen looks really nice, the soft rubber back feels better then the Atrix 1. I got the same internet speeds as the Atrix 1. Camera button convenient though pressing it doesnt launch camera app. On the Atrix 2 internal memory isnt accessible, even hooking up to pc you cant browse it, so you need a SD card to put music and videos, etc on it.HDMI mirroring worked as expected. I think the MHL mirroring from the SGS2 was better quality though.
I am having a wierd problem with my iphone 4. I had to recently restore from my backup and ever since I am unable to click on any URL or Phone# within the notes section of the calendar entry! It would not launch Safari to open the URL or launch phone dialer to dial the number! The URL and number are formatted correctly. These appointments/calender entries are sent by other people to me which I had accepted earlier before the restore. It used to be running just fine and this anomaly started all of a sudden now.
When I pause for 1-2 seconds on the hyperlink it does present me the option prompt to open the URL in Safari or to Copy the URL. Selecting the option to open in Safari does not do anything and the option prompt closes.
When I pause for 1-2 seconds on the phone number, it does present me the option prompt to dial/copy/etc... and selecting "call xxx-xxx-xxxx' option actually flickers a bit, shows the prompt again and then switches to the phone dialer. But this is so annoying that it wouldn't recognize single short touch to open the phone dialer immediately!I have restored my phone twice now & synched it up many times but this issue still remains.
We've all been struggling to get through Apple and AT&T's servers since 4AM this morning. I've just been trying to get two 16GB iPhone 4's, preferably white, for me and my wife. With enough perseverance, I managed to wrangle one (1) pre-order for black 16GB iPhone 4 from AT&T's Premier site, and it luckily shows "processing." At the same time, I also managed to grab two (2) reservations for black 16GB iPhone 4's at Apple's site, one using their website, and one with the Apple Store app (which, by the way, was extremely fast).
The bottom line is I have an extra reservation (possible because of two Apple IDs, I guess?). I'm still aiming to preorder the second 16GB iPhone 4 at AT&T, if the site will let me.Come launch day, the lines will be long. The stores will be crazy. Someone is bound to walk away without an iPhone 4, and someone will want one bad enough to pay money for it. If you had an extra reservation, would you sell it?
Or those who made reservations, called the store, and was told that they weren't in the system. In my case, I received an confirmation email. So I plan to arrive around 5AM at the Apple store and stand in the reserve line with my printed confirmation email. What happens when we get in, they see we don't have a reservation in the system? What are the chances they'll give us a phone seeing that we have the confirmation email? I talked to a rep at my Apple store, he said I should be fine as long as I bring a printed email.
Ok so I setup a Reservation at an Apple Store on pre order day.I have the email confirming they will have a Black 32GB phone for me, however for those who have done this before Does this Gurantee me a phone since it is a Reservation, or is it still first come first serve basis at the store. This would kind of suck if I get ther and they do not have my phone for me
After trying all day i finally got through on the Apple website. I wanted to do a store pick up. After picking my plan (I am an existing AT&T customer) it said can not pre order online please visit a store. Then let me pick from 3 local stores. I picked one and it sayed bring government id on June 24th. Did it go through? I am I suppose to get a confirmation. Can I check? Was I suppose to put money down?
I'm going to apple store, brent cross this thursday, and have phoned them up regarding this and they have told me they 'do not know yet'.I was wondering though, from your point of view, how would you see this: I have reserved a 32gb black phone. I did want a black but now that I've seen the white hands-on I think I would prefer it. I won't know until I go into the shop, however, and get my hands on either.I intend to be one of the first in line. I will wake up VERY early that day and drive myself down there. I have been saving up for 2 years to buy myself this phone and I think it'd be a waste if I didn't at least put in the effort on the morning to ensure the day went well. My only problem is, there will be two lines right? One for reservations and one for unreserved. I'm wondering if I could line up in reserved and then when the store opens and we find out what phones they have (whether white or not is available) if they will let me swap my reservation OR will they send me to the back of the unreserved line? And I'm worried what people will think if I bring my girlfriend with me and strategically place her at the front of the unreserved (without pushing in front of anyone ofc) and if they told me I needed to be unreserved to get a white I just swapped places with her (she wants a black one anyway but hasn't reserved)? In the end I didn't skip any lines and it's not like you moved back any number of places, and it's not like I didn't wait for the same time as you.
Is anyone with a Reservation Camping Out at the Apple Store? If so why?I am. I want mine as soon as possible. Even though mine is guaranteed I still don't want to wait in an insane line in the morning. Plus it will be pretty cool to be one of the first people in line to have their hands on the new iPhone 4. Another reason, it seems like it will be a fun experience.
So I, like many of you, am following the news of Apple and ATT canceling random iPhone 4 orders. From what I've gathered these all seem to be from people who ordered from either apple.com or AT&T.com, paid with a credit card and set them up to ship to their home as apposed to setting up an in-store pickup reservation. Can anyone let me know if this ISNT the case? Has anyone had a canceled order who's signed up for in store pickup on launch day?
I just got off the phone with my local Apple store here in New York and asked them if my reserved iPhone 4 would still be there when I get out of work at 4 to pick it up.He told me to call back on Wednesday to make sure that they are not releasing reservations, but he thinks it will be held for me. He said that they're not sure if they are going to be releasing reserved phones to customers. In my opinion, them releasing reserved phones to the public is pretty crappy and doubt it will happen, but you never know. Call your local Apple store and see know what they say. We're probably going to get different stories.
I didn't see this posted yet but I got an email from Apple today reminding me of my pickup reservation at my designated Apple store on Thursday.Glad to know I wasn't bumped or canceled from the reservations list like i've heard from some other members here.It also mentions how the price I was shown when I reserved (599.00) was a mistake and I could confirm my upgrade price via the link in the email which I did. $199.00 now shows up correctly.I guess i'll come Thursday I'll be one Iphone 4 happierI managed to place my reservation via the iphone apple store app on the first day.
I missed the preorder/reservation time because my bill was overdue. I tried waiting in line at the Apple store by me today but gave up because I had to go to work. I'm leaving for vacation on Saturday (and I'm sure most stores will be out of stock soon anway) and won't be returning until July 5th.
Now my question is, I know I can get my phone by July 14th if I order online now, but what would you say the likelihood is of me being able to go to the store on July 5th and be able to get one? Do you think stores will have received additional inventory by then?
Been waiting for the white since June 24th but now just want a damn iPhone. If anyone has a spare reservation they don't want for the Solihull or Bullring store (UK), I would really appreciate it, Thanks!
On my Nokia X6, when I try to configure an email account using Nokia Messaging, Email setup fails to launch.I tried configuring from "Messaging" and here after configuring, when I click on "Connect", it doesn't connect.if I select Settings for an already created mailbox, from "Messaging" --> Options --> Email Setup --> Mailbox --> Google --> Settings, I get the following message "Messaging: Feature not supported".
I am using a Lumia 1020 and it worked perfectly for almost 2 years until today... I installed time lapse studio excited to make time lapse videos... And then created a project from my files and deleted the picture file in the app and then found that it actually deleted every single photo in my camera roll and all other albums were also empty. Now have been trying for almost 4 hours to get Lumia camera to open but it crashes on launch. I tried many soft resets and re installed the app twice but no results.
When trying to use the motion launch gestures while the phone (M8) is lying on a flat surface? I found that the double tap or swiping the phone while it's on a table does not always activate the phone. However, when the phone is in my hand, it works as it should. I'm thinking maybe it's because the phone has a rounded back so when you tap it, the phone will seesaw and it messes with the internal sensor. I never have this problem when the phone is in my hand because the way the phone contours to the hand and making it more stable.
Anyone have similar experience? I preordered 2 16GB Blacks on @ 5:15am yesterday. I received email confirmation on both Apple IDs I used, however, my store (Oak Brook, IL) does not show my reservation on the main website, but does confirm my reservation on the iPhone App? Is this sufficient backup to secure my phone on the 24th?
After dipping my phone in water for about 10 seconds at a depth of 15 cm, the touch screen went crazy. Brightness was at its maximun ignoring the ambient light sensor. 20 minutes later the phone was off. I thought was the battery, but before this, the battery was at 60 %. I let it in rise for two days, but it doesn't start or charge the battery. Is dead. Two times, when I connect the usb charger a red led light turns on, but turns off after a few seconds.
I thought that I would have to pay extra to upgrade my 3gs to a 4, but when I checked apple's site, it said I could get it for the regular $199. I thought only people within 6 months of their upgrade date get the regular price.
Australia, Austria, Belgium, Canada, Denmark, Finland, Hong Kong, Ireland, Italy, Luxembourg, Netherlands, Norway, New Zealand, Singapore, South Korea, Spain, Sweden and Switzerland. I am (Netherlands). It's going to be a lonngggg month. 3GS will be gone by next week and than I still have to wait for 3 or 4 weeks. Pff. Luckily for me holiday is coming really soon so I can do whatever I want... without an iPhone 3Gspeed.
