Jun 15, 2010this moring i ordered from att.it says attention in the status, anyway when i got home i hit cart from early early this am on the apple website. and i had a 32gb in my cart so i proceeded to check out and was able to purchase it. ok so now i think i have 2 preorders. anyone see any kind of issues that might come out of this? i heard you could only have one per address.worried they both will get cancelled.

Now I wonder if when I go into an Apple store in case my phone has any issues, will it matter what line its on or where I bought it from? I have never owned an iPhone so I dont know how the apple store actually works.From what I rememeber, I bought a used iPod Touch a long time ago, and it had issues and I just brought it in and got an exchange. Will it be the same with the iPhone?

Jun 9, 2010I'm seriously considering buying the new iPhone 4. I don't want to wait in long lines for hours like I did before. I am currently with Verizon, but I want the new iPhone.I want to pre-order through Apple online and pick it up at the nearest apple store. Also if I order it like that, does the online Apple store run your credit then, or do they just sell you the iPhone for 199.00 and then you take it to At&t for them to run a check and set it up? I would imagine Apple store would run credit check right then but I'm not sure.
Last year I bought the 3gs at a walk in Apple store. I remember they said I had a problem with At&t I needed to fix first, so I went to At&t, fixed problem, went back to Apple store they sold me the 3gs but could not port my number. Somehow gave me a completely new number, said I had to go back to At&t store to fix it. Went there, At&t sent me back to Apple store and these stores were not even close to each other! Finally got it resolved though. Anyway, I hope I don't have a problem like that again.
IPhone :: Reserved Pickup And Apple Dot Com Order
Jun 22, 2010I haven't seen this particular scenario discussed, so I finally decided I would ask.I of course dealt with the fiasco that was June 15. I eventually was given the ability to make a reservation, and although I wanted it shipped, I figured that was better than nothing. A few hours later I was able to get an order successfully placed. Both of these were put on the same number and same apple ID.
The original plan was to give the 3G to my wife (although she was available for upgrade), but we have since decided that it makes more sense to get a new 4 for her and sell the 3G (which is why I have not cancelled the reserve). There are 2 tricky parts to that - the apple ID it is reserved for and the number are mine (will activating the i4 that arrives tomorrow affect this) and I am the 2nd line (authorized retail user) on the family plan under her name (different last names). Is there any chance that I would be able to pick up the iphone from Apple on the 24th, or will she have to be present as well? I could go at any time, but she would not be able to get there before about 7pm.

Jun 16, 2010I just preordered an iphone4 on apple's website and got an email verification, but it doesnt show up under my apple account order history. Does anyone have the same issue? I tried calling apple but of course they aren't taking any calls because of the craziness going on. I just want to make sure it went through and it's gonna be shipped to me and not some other random person.

Jun 22, 2010Anyone else a bit annoyed that if you made a reservation to get the IPhone 4 on opening day, partly so you could be the first anywhere to get it, you are now getting it 1 day later than others who aren't anywhere near an Apple store and/or chose mail order? Kind of takes a bit of the excitement away from the hassle of rushing to an Apple store on release day and waiting in the reservation line.

Jun 20, 2010An Apple customer service representative just informed me that today, they were informed that there is a limit of only one iPhone for online order per account, no matter what the eligibility of your various AT&T lines are. I ordered each of my iP4's separately, although they're under the same family plan. He said, "It wasn't announced and we, or at least I, was just informed about this today, but you can only order 1 iPhone online. We've actually had a lot of people calling about order cancellations." I specifically asked him why this was the case if multiple numbers on a family plan are eligible for an upgrade, but he was unable to answer. He stated that we would have to purchase our second iPhone 4 in store and that everyone who ordered more than one iPhone will have all but one of their orders cancelled.I've ordered 2 iP4's. One has been shipped, and the other has, "Not yet Shipped." The rep looked up my order for the phone that hasn't been shipped yet and said that there is a hold on it because we're only allowed to order one iPhone 4 online. So, if what this rep said is true, how can so many people claim that both of their orders have been shipped? Jan 12, 2012So, got excited about the MotoACTV this past Saturday and bought online through Motorola. Realized soon after that my local REI had it in stock and I had a xmas gift certificate. Went to REI and purchased it - (Canceled my order for the Garmin 910XT in the process) Went back to the site to try and cancel my order but the 'Cancel items or order' button on my order page wasnt' functional. No biggie, I'll call. After being passed around to the same 3 depts TWICE, I was finally told the ecommerce section was closed for the weekend. Once again, I understand that.I then call on Monday, they tell me the order hasn't yet shipped but I'm not allowed to cancel it at that point. Don't quite understand and getting a bit frustrated at this point but whatever, I'll deal. Customer rep tells me that they'll issue a return slip and email it to me.
OK, I'm good with that.Wednesday comes and still no email with return slip. I call, go through the same 3 depts again and get someone else who tells me that it takes a while to get the return slip but I'll have it within 24 hours.24 hours goes by, I call again and get hung up on 3 times in the process before I can ever get to anyone. Once I get someone on the line, they tell me that it should be to me within the next couple of days... A RETURN SLIP?Once I finally lost my temper a bit, they said it would be 'escalated' and that I should be receiving it within a few hours... we'll see. They also let me know that I could not return it without the receipt.Meanwhile, I've completely soured on the one that I purchased and I'm considering returning it as well and changing my order back to the Garmin. By the way, I called Garmin's support team just to compare... night and day!

Ive heard that to home there may be activation issues and its better to be in store for troubleshooting but in store on launch day may be packed and I may have to wait I've heard that they have 2 different lines for walk ins and pre-orders is this true? If I send to store can I pick up anytime that day? How does apple ship their orders UPS.FedEx.Etc.Just want to get all the facts for both options if possible. This is my first time pre-ordering and just want to be prepared and make the right decision.

Apr 7, 2010IS there one?...the standard tones given are frankly pathetic...why hasn't this been addressed by a software update?
I don't want to jail break my phone, I will end up breaking it and god knows what happens when you connect to iTunes and recieve updates of the OS to a jailbroken phone.
You would have thought the Apple iTunes store may have made a money spinner of alternative text tones.
I don't care about the new phone and 'multi-tasking', if I do more than one thing at a time I just get confused anyway but if the new iPhone doesn't address text tone this issue I may not buy it.

Jun 16, 2010I ordered this on the 15th at about 5:30am, a little over an hour after it was released. I printed out the confirmation page and I have the confirmation page. Nothing shows up in my orders, and when I type to search my order using my phone number or order number, nothing comes up.Has this happened to anyone else?I have to call them when they open!Also, I don't have a confirmation e-mail, because it's a different account owner with a different e-mail.
