IPad Air Never Finds Hotspot From IPhone 5
Jun 25, 2014I have an iPad Air and iPhone 5. i have a plan that allows me to create a WiFi HotSpot on my phone so i can connect my non cellular iPad to the net. Although most times my Air cannot find the network the phone creates. sometimes it does after a lot of on and off and researching, and Airplane modes switching, but generally it wont find it.Â
Both up to date. Both fine condition. Both do all other network connecting fine. no know problems anywhere on either device?:!?!?
IPhone 4 :: Finds WiFi Networks But Does Not Connect
Jun 24, 2014Tried restarting, forget network, reset network, hard reset, and reset all settings. The wheel just spins. It sees the network, asks for password, but won't connect. iPhone 5's and ipads work fine as do computers, apple tv, etc. Used to connect, but now just that spinning wheel forever. No error message.

Apr 30, 2012When I plug in my iphone 4 to my macbook pro (running OS X) itunes opens and syncs the iphone normally. I then open iphoto to uplaod the photos from the camera roll. This always used to work just fine. I would click the iphone on the left, all the pics would come up, and I would click download all images. Done. Now all of a sudden when I open iphoto the phone shows up on the menu bar at the left like normal. However when I click on it none of the photos show up. The computer doesn't see any of the pics in the camera roll and acts as if the iphone has no pics on it. The pics are taken with both the original camera app as well as Camera+. I don't understand what changed.
Along the same lines... Can I bypass this issue by using itunes to sync the photos? When itunes syncs I see that it says "downloading photos" but I can't find where it downloads them to.

Mar 5, 2012I've had my Droid Bionic since October 2011 and I have tried to run a system update once or twice a month but it never finds an update. It is always stuck on "Checking for available update. Please wait..." And the little loader circle is spinning. I've tried checking for updates on different Wifi networks and everyone is the same. I am still on 5.5.886.

Nov 1, 2012I upgraded to ICS recently on my Verizon Droid Bionic & am trying to figure out Smart Actions. I want to set an action based on my home location, but I can't complete the setup because SA can't find my address, even though it can find my position exactly. If I try to attach my home location by selecting "Current Location," then the map is displayed with a correct "Your position" marker, but the "Finding address" process never succeeds. If I try to attach my home location by selecting "Search," the process also fails. However, in the separate Maps app, my address can be found.

I am willing to use a loose definition of music to include Kylie, 50 Cents as well as K3 but for the love of God I cannot regard the no doubt popular tracks "Skype" or "SkypeIM" as music.Is it possible to restrict the location where Music library is looking for material to the location of locations where I, or whatever Ovi/Nokia application is installed, stores its music?

Apr 6, 2011In the bluetooth menu, when I click "Add a device" and choose Search, no devices are found. When I do the exact same thing using a Curve 9300 (or any other phone for that matter) I am able to find at least 10 devices in the exact same location at work. It appears bluetooth is not working at all.

Apr 11, 2010Eager to try the next iPhone/iPod update? If you upgraded, but can't activate the phone, you are stuck, so the logical thing to do is go back to the old firmware and wait until it's officially released, but going back is downgrading. That's where you get stuck. So here is an easy and working method to downgrade. If something doesn't work, or I'm wrong about something, please let me know. This guide is for Mac only.
Step 1) While the Phone is plugged to the computer, hold the home and power button until the phone goes off and comes back on. When it does come back on and the apple logo shows, release just the power button. The iTunes logo should soon show up. (This puts the phone into device firmware upgrade mode which allows us to communicate with it)
Step 2) Download Tools.zip attached and make sure it's in your Downloads folder. (This makes sure we know where they are so we can direct services to it)
Step 3) If it's not already unzipped, unzip it (To access the contents)
Step 4) Launch Terminal and type/paste: sudo cp ~/Downloads/Tools/libusb-0.1.4.dylib /usr/lib (This command moves a file which allows us to talk to the phone through the USB port to the appropriate location)
Step 5) Enter Your password as prompted then hit enter (This gives you permission to move the file)
Step 6) Make sure you have hit enter and gone to the next line then type/paste: ~/Downloads/Tools/./iRecovery -s (This is the tool engineered by wEsTbAeR-- and Tom3q that allows us to talk to the phone)
Step 7) Terminal should now display information about the phone and the last line should say "(Recovery) iPhone$" if it does, type/paste: setenv auto-boot true (This tells the phone to stop going into recovery mode)
Step 8) Make sure you are on the next line and type/paste: saveenv
Step 9) If all went well you should be able to boot your phone by holding the power and home button until you see the apple logo. From there on you can activate and sync.
I just came across a script AppleHack23 is distributing (Probably created). I haven't tested it, but it looks like it only sends the commands to the phone, so you can use it after Step 5. (Direct download for the script)

Jan 20, 2010I just bought a new 3GS since I'm going to sell my unlocked 3G on ebay. Yes, I was too stupid to learn about tethered jailbreak problems before I did this.The 3GS never reboots after JB! I've tried making my own ipsw with PwnageTool (Snow Leopard) and Blackra1n (Snow Leopard) and Blackra1n (Win7 x64).With Pwnage, it just is a dead brick stuck in DFU mode. With blackra1n it just has the usb-to-itunes screen. Have I uncovered a new more sinister bootloader or am I just out of it?

Sep 3, 2010As we all know, iOS4 folders function so that they display their contents as tiny little thumbnails. You can change the folder icon, BUT, it still shows the app thumbnails on top of that. What I'd like to do is have folder icons and no thumbnails, so that you can essentially get the same result as you would using the Categories app (being able to pick your own folder icon), except without the hassle of using a now-obsolete functionality. So, in essence, let's say you have an icon of a game controller/joystick. I want that to be my icon for my "games" folder. I keep the stylish icon with no thumbnails, but when I tap it, it opens up like a regular folder.
I assume that this would involve changing the way folders function within Springboard itself (not as simple as replacing a few files here and there). Have any developers made an add-on that disables folder thumbnails, or does anyone here know how one would go about doing that?

Mar 15, 2012I never thought I would drop my iphone 4 ever. I had it unknowingly on my lap, as I was getting out the car it flew in the air and landed on the back. The back of the phones glass is shattered but luckily no pieces fell off. Does anyone know of a legit back replacement I can use? I want to get a whole new backing for it with the pentalobe screw driver. I just don't know if I am getting scammed since there are so many fakes that distribute them. I was also wondering if there is a very cheap alternative to just buying a thin plastic case and placing it over the broken glass. The case would have to go over the back only since I hate extra bulk.

In the phone help section , it say I need to first assign a pin code to the phone and then enter the same number on the radio receiver and then start pairing .
I have looked all over and can not find any menu on my phone that let me input any pin number . I have tried numbers like 12345 and 1234 on the radio receiver but failed .
Does any one knows how to input the pin number . This apparently is not the Sim number .
This is a number we are supposed to come up with and input in both devices

Jul 29, 2010I have a 3GS running OS 4.0 jailbroken with Pawnage tool. Everything seems normal except that iTunes is acting really weird when I try to synch my apps.When I plug my phone into iTunes and click on the "apps page", instead of seeing a screen shot of my iPhone showing all of the apps I have installed, iTunes shows a blank page. The wallpaper of my phone is displayed, but the rest of the phone is completely blank (no apps, not even the default apps or dock apps like the phone, iPod, email, SMS, calendar, etc). When I tried synching my phone, iTunes rearranged all of my paid apps in alphabetical order. I then rearranged them and tried synching again, only to find the iTunes had put them back into alphabetical order again. ITunes wouldn't recognize any of the folders that I created either. Each time I synched the phone, my folders would be deleted.
Does anyone have any idea how to fix this problem? I read this article on MacWorld where the guy reviewing iOS 4 (and those who left comments) had the same problem with their stock (unjailbroken) iPhone so, I think its a iTunes problem as opposed to a jailbreak problem.
From MacWorld article: "I did experience one issue where, after creating a number of folders in iTunes, and then syncing my iPhone with iTunes, all the folders disappeared and my apps were rearranged (on the phone) in alphabetical order—an incident that required quite a bit of time and effort to recover from."
