I have an iPhone 4 and want to use it to hook up to an aftermarket Pioneer stereo via USB. I was wondering if anyone has already done this and if anyone has had any issues. I don't have the stereo yet because I am a little wary of incompatibility because I have heard that iOS 4 has some issues with car stereos. Let me know if you have done this or if you have gotten it to work.
View 21 RepliesHaving a problem with calls over bluetooth through a Pioneer car stereo with a Galaxy S2. I can make and receive calls ok, and the stereo mutes whenever a call comes in. Call audio is directed through the stereo speakers, but the person at the other end cannot hear me. If I switch the call to the phones speaker they can hear me ok, but this means I have no audio through the stereo. Pressing the privacy button on the stereo appears to have the same effect. I saw one suggestion to try disabling media over bluetooth, and have tried this but the problem persists. I have tested the connection using an iphone and it worked perfectly.

I still want the iPhone to connect via Bluetooth to my Ford Smax (so it's handsfree), but it now opens the Music app too and starts playing, well, tries to play as the Ford doesn't support music streaming. I feel as though it's draining the battery now. It didn't use to do this, it's since the latest OS update.
Is there a way to turn off the automatic music playback but keep bluetooth on?
I've got a music system in my car to which it is possible to connect my Iphone 4 I bought a cable 'Belkin iPhone / iPod AV Cable' which can be used to connect the Iphone and music system.
When I try to put the ipod connector in my Iphone I get a dialog box up 'Can not use accessories. There can only be an accessory at a time.' Audio system will not have a 'contact' with the iPhone.
I only put 'Belkin iPhone / iPod AV Cable' in my Iphone 4 but get this text. I've also tried with an Ipod 3 - with the same result.
However, the success of 2 times of approx. 50 to connect (1 time on the Iphone and 1 time on the Ipod). There I could easily play music and watch video of my car stereo.
Why do I get error text - which means that I can not use my iPhone to my stereo? FYI-the dialog box text is translated from danish to english using google translate.

I have iPhone 4s iOS 5 and have successfully paired (bluetooth) with my new Sony DSX-s310BTX car head unit. When I search for a contact through the head unit, it will load the entire (huge) list of contacts and allow me to navigate through the headunit to a contact to make a call (very clunky - SOny's poor design). So, it sees the contact list successfully. The head unit allows for me to enter six presets contacts into a list of popular numbers for easy access, but after the head unit is set to accept an addition to this presets list (it displays "waiting" prompt on the display), I need to know how to "Send the phonebook data by operating the cellular phone" as the SOny instruction manual says to do. I've contacted Sony support, and reviewed the pdf iPhone 4s manual (as well as these discussions), with no luck. It seems it should be under Contacts > select individual contact > Share Contact, but that only gives the option to share via Email or Message (sms), not Bluetooth.

I own a 2014 Chevy Equinox. The car's auxiliary connector does not work with the G4, so I connect with a stand alone Bluetooth device plugged into my cigarette lighter. I listen to the FM radio regularly and I am very disappointed to find the Desire radio only gives a mono output. Even though there is a stereo / mono setting the sound stays mono. For such an expensive phone this is very annoying. Can anyone else confirm this, or is it just a problem with my phone. If this is a bug when is it likely to be fixed. Who would I contact at HTC to ask for a fix?

It fails to work properly with this head unit for A2DP.I've paired the two up, the head unit and phone show as connected, but when I go to play a music file on the phone, I hear audio for a few seconds and then it stops coming out of the speakers. The phone carries on playing it, and if I switch off the head unit so that the blue tooth disconnects, then the sound is heard through the phone speakers.I seem to recall that the N95 I have worked to play MP3. The only other significant difference I can think of here is that the music I'm playing is M4A.Any ideas why this doesn't work properly?

Is there a way to get headphones to playback in Stereo mode? I've tried the earbuds that came with the phone, as well as an old set of Sony Stereo headphones I have - listening to music downloads from the Spotify App as well as just using earbuds/headphones in normal phone mode (calls, voicemail, etc) - both only playing in Mono mode (no sound at all from left channel, only right). I'm using a 3.5mm adapter, if that makes a difference?

I have had my ATT BB 8310 for almost a year and recently bought a Motorokr S9 Bluetooth Stereo Headset to use at the gym. (tired of getting tied-up in the wire!) Anyway, I successfully paired the S9 and everything works (Phone audio, music controls, etc.) except the music still comes out of the BB! I called Moto and they said it should work (I have 4.5.0.182 in the BB). When I power-up the S9, I get a connection message on the BB saying Successfully Connected and green checks for Hands-Free, Stereo Audio, and A/V Remote Control. But the music still plays out of the BB, not the S9.
