IPhone :: How To Keep Radio App To Keep Playing In Background With Backgrounder?
Aug 12, 2010
This used to work fine a long time ago before iOS 4. I would open Pandora, hold the home button to enable backgrounding and press home to go to the SpringBoard. Now I noticed for my other radio app that the audio just stops. How do you let the audio keep playing while Backgrounded?
I started facing something weird today with the Music.app on my iPhone 4 running iOS 5.0.1. The music from the Music.app stops playing as soon as I leave the app. This happens if I try to switch to another app, or press the home button or even lock the screen with the app in the foreground. It automatically starts playing as soon as I reopen the app. When the screen is locked, double tapping the home button brings up the iPod controls. But the play button there doesnt respond and the same thing happens with the play button from the multitasking tray too. It's as though the Music App can no longer play in the background.
I've got a 3g and up until last Friday I was able to play my iPhones iPod and Aol Radio app thru a stero cable and into my cars radio.
But now it's stopped. It plays but it's very very low. I thought it was the cable so I had a friend play their iPhone into my car with the same stero cable and it works for them. But when I plug mine in it's low low low. I haven't updated to 3.1.2 or whatever the newest software version is.
is there someone who knows if there's possible to play music on my iPhone or even iPod from an avarage old Panasonic car radio/receiver with USB input? And then just use the orignal white docking cable to USB? In theory it should be possible to send the audio signals through USB...
I had my iphone plugged into some speakers and listening to Pandora. Suddenly music quit and now I can't get my speakers to play music (music/apps/radio). However, they will work when I have speaker phone on.
Info: iPhone 4S, iOS 5.1.1, speakers quit no music
hey guys, i have backgrounder and proswitcher installed on my iphone 3G, it slows down my iphone 3G, now, i have a problem with cydia and cydia doesnt turn on anymore so i cant uninsall it, how can i disable backgrounder and proswticher?
I just jailbroke my phone in order to run the backgrounder app (so i can run my loops on the diddydj app and use a drum machine that i like thats another app). I installed Backgrounder but it just will not work.I have a 3G, currently using 3.1.3 software FYI
its less than a month that i have bought this handset - nokia asha 200 , and i ve found the FM stereo isnt playing anyhow. while the music player works well with the same earpiece , it shows " connect wired headset " when switched to fm radio options. further , in 'conversations', it displays incorrect sender name as well.
I have an icon running the developers 8.1.... So I am trying to stream radio stations on tunein radio and it works terribly. When the stream doe actually play it will stutter and skip, it will do that for a few seconds and then just go into a buffering loop. I even tored different streams of the station and got pretty much the same results. My signal is fine, I have full LTE so speed isnt not the problem. Also its just tunein radio....youtube Pandora and mix radio work fine.
This is an app I used a lot on the android phone and Id really like to be able to use it on the widows phone too but right now its absolutely useless.
I have an iPhone 4 that I want to plug into my car so I can listen to my favorite online radio station. How do I do this? And is all I need is an A/C adapter? Please list all possibilitys.
I have noticed an issue with the Galaxy S5 that apparently only occurs with the Verizon variant. I work for a place called Wireless Advocates, we are the cell phone kiosk inside of Costco. I'm asking about this because I've had three customers come in to ask about this background data issue.
I'm not sure what triggers this issue but when I try opening up google play I get the "Background Data Disabled : Google Play Store Needs background data to be Enabled" error. It then gives you the ability to either quit or enable the data. If you press enable it takes you to the account screen in settings.
When I go to Data usage the option to "restrict background data" is greyed out. You can't even select it and it isn't checkmarked either. Just to clarify, accessing the internet and other things on the phone work perfectly fine. It's just the use of Google Play that is having issues. I called Samsung customer care and they aren't aware of this issue at all. Also note that force stopping google play, play services, removing the google accounts and adding them back and rebooting the phone haven't solved it. After the reboot the phone will appear fine and then a box that says "Restricting background data".
Checked the forum and did not find any on this post! Ran my battery down to 4% and radio did not turn off. Has Rim done away with this feature? Not very often i have the battery down this low, and i know it is not good for the battery. I just wanted to see if it would turn off. I plugged my phone in at 4% so I did not run the battery any lower. I thought it was at 5% that it would turn off. Is the percentage lower? Or is RADIO OFF gone?
I have the bb curve 8330 and was trying to find out if I can play my iHeart radio over my car radio. The thing is I am unsure what device to use or how to go about it.
I have a new T-Mobile S6 Edge and love the phone, but one thing I have not figured out is why I still get background mobile data usage even though I have disabled mobile data and set "restrict background data". Both tuiService and OS services are downloading approximately 100K at a time periodically over mobile data throughout the day even though I have a wifi connection.
My iPhone 4S sometimes stops playing music by itself while I am playing music. This occurs while my phone is on standby/locked mode; that is I am not using any apps.
I know how background apps should work. What I'm wondering is why everything I do on my 3GS gets put in the background page, and I end up with 50 apps in the list? If all these are still "running" in the background, that has to be killing the phone and the battery. Is there any way to close out these apps without them going to the background list? Even if most of them are not "running" in the background, isn't that anoying to have all of them listed there?
i have a problem with video playing. i put some video from my pc via nokia pc suite and convert it to my n97. iit`s playing only few seconds and then the video stops but sound is still playing. i tried put the video without converting in mp4 formate but it`s the same. if i try to play some downloaded video from ovi or some carptured video it plays with no problems. i`ve already tried to reinstall my frimeware but it didn`t solve the problem...video : http://www.Internet.com/watch?v=ebhub4qetys
Whenever I try to activate backgrounder on cydia, it just goes straight to voice control with no backgrounder enabled notification. I have backgrounder to to auto detect (I have an iPhone 4 on 4.0.1). When I do an override and set it to run as if in foreground it doesn't do it. How can I make cydia background so I can close it and open again where I was, with going back to the homescreen and reload data and such?
I didnt find anything on this so here it is.are you pissed off as me closing all the programs one by one running on background? Im not ,atleast not anymore.i found app called remove background.Just DL app from cydia and choose from activator (in program) where do you want it to Function (i have it on double tap statusbar) and everytime you want close all programs running on background just double tap statusbar and it closes everything (quite fast i must say) And you can also choose programs you dont want it to close.
My buddy has a driod and is able to constantly have his location updated on Google Latitude. I would like to be able to do this with my friends. Will the background capability of my soon to be aquired i4 allow me to do this with Latitude or some other app?
Battery more than the old version? I'm leery to log back in (it logged me out when I installed the upgrade) as I don't want it to drain the battery. Also if I do that thing where you manually close the programs will that kill the Skype app to? I don't have a skype in number so I don't really need it to run in the background. Would like to just close it when done.
I'm loving my Iphone 4s almost as much as the fluidity of IOS.Opening webpages in the background, organizing, responding to photostream issues. However there is one option missing(or one that i cant find) and that would be to choose which of the available updates you want to install. This can be done ofcourse but I dont get the logic if i press the update button why im forced back to the home screen only to watch a loading bar, having to go back to the app store, let it load all of the available updates again etc etc. I'm running out of space on my 16 gb model and my home network isnt unlimited download bandwith.
I'm an avid app-hopper.. on my 32Gb 3GS, I have a tendency to hop from app to app, into safari, then into another app etc. What I'm finding is that after doing this, some titles (usually games such as Airport Mania and Monopoly) start running really slugglishly (and Monopoly starts complaining that it's running out of memory) until I open the taskbar and start closing everything there.
I may have missed it but is there any way to tell which apps are 'running' in the background and which aren;t - or do we assume that all apps in the taskbar are doing so? (although when I have restarted an app from the taskbar, most load up again from scratch).
So I'm just wondering if there's a way to disable this feature so that when I press the Home button, I know the app is actually closing properly?
Iphone 4: Is there a way to turn certain apps off once you exit out of the app instead of double tapping the home screen button every time you open an app to turn it off?
I was hoping with OS 4.0 that I'd be able to keep Pocket Tunes (Internet radio) running while using other apps. If I'm listening to pocket Tunes, I double tapped the home button, and if i scroll to another app, pocket tunes stops playing? I thought that multiple tasking meant this would not happen??
I'm not sure if this is a problem with my iPod, or just the way it's supposed to work.
It's an iPod, not an iPhone, but I'm using it to learn more about how the iPhone works.
I've got what I think is a second generation iPod (chrome back plate, and no camera).
Version: 4.2.1 (8C148)
Model: MB531LL
I set the "wallpaper" to the same default background as I have in my iPhone - the gray colored background with bubbles all over.
On the iPhone, this works fine.
On the iPad, the background remains black.
Is there a different setting I need to use? I think I've done everything right, and even reset the iPod to "new", but the background behind all my apps is still a solid black color.
Also, I know there's no phone, no camera, and no multitasking, but will this device function pretty much the same as an iPhone 3GS? Will I be able to install the same Wi-Fi utilities such as Skype and Viber?
