How do I free up memory on iPhone 4
Info:iPhone 4, iOS 5.1.1
Why can't the BB OS use some of the removable memory card space to free up the internal memory. To me this is a no brainer, most of us have 16 or 32gig cards, I would be more than happy to set aside some space so the phone could run better. Most of the new flash cards these days are reasonably fast and could easily be used as a swap file place holder or reside some of the dormitory features.

1. On this screenshot, it shows that I have 2.25 GB (1119 photos), but I really only have 28 photos on my phone right now. How do I know where the rest of the 1,000+ photos are, because I have not synced any from my iPhoto or elsewhere to this phone? I have not used my iCloud at all, so nothing is synced there as well. I would like to free up some space because I really do not have that many pictures on my phone.Â
2. What goes on "Other"? It's not the music, apps, ibooks, tv shows, podcasts, movies, etc. It's 3.72 GB of space that I would like to manage as well.

View 14 Replies View RelatedMy phone memory has fallen down to 26.3 Mb. I know that I have a lot of applications installed. I've tried to install most of them in the card memory but many of them (especially from OVI Apps) used the phone memory ignoring my settings. I also want to move all my messages from phone to card memory but I don't find a way to do it.
View 8 Replies View RelatedI've installed a new theme (around 2MB after installation) to my Nokia C6-01 from the OVI store (to phone memory) and later uninstalled it from the app manager through phone, but when I go look at the memory, it says that my phone memory is still 2mb occupied. I haven't installed any other app to the phone..Is there any other place that I need to delete the installation files?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have an E75 for a few months now and I have a problem that totally confuses me: I constantly keep getting the System Message that my Internal Memory C: is full and that I need to either delete files or move them to the flash memory. Sometimes it also refuses to open emails, because of the lack of memory.
The sad part is that almost all of my data already is on the flash card, not on the internal drive. There's literally nothing left to delete from the internal memory. I also tried deleting my personal data from the web browser, but it didn't help much. I checked the data that is stored on the internal memory and it is about 18MB while the phone's file manager sais I have only about 2MB free memory left. 20 MB total memory size seems a little small to me, shouldn't it be 50MB?
My bold 9000 app memory always falls under 15mb! I only have the following apps installed:
Socialscope
FB
Google maps
Worldmate Live
BB app world
Bbm, ym, wl, gtalk
Zonasnap Is there a way to free up memory apart from constant battery pulls?
How can I increase free memory in my 9300?, I was told to remove all tyhe languaes I do not use but am unsure how to do it?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have recently upgraded from a 8520 to 9300 and Im having problems with the application memory free space. I only have 55.1MB of free space and I cant download apps in app world cos it uses up all the free space. My space has been as low as 6.1MB. This is my 2nd phone from Virgin as I had the problem with the 1st 9300 and I had to send it back and they said that it was a problem that cant be fixed so they sent me a reconditioned phone but this phone seems to have the same problem too.
I have a 4gb media card installed to save all my pics and music onto.
I have not installed so many application in my phone, but my phone internal memory showing only 55 MB free space.... how can I increase the size of phone memory. Same with RAM, manually i can free the RAM..but not automatically.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI've got a problem with my E5-00 (updated to latest version, least nothing showing as available for upgrade). From power on its reporting only ~4MB internal memory free with no additional applications running, additional installed application are on an 8GB SD card.sing the file manager on the device I can't see any files on the internal memory card taking too much room and without addtional applications running rather hard to find something to remove to free more memory.
View 3 Replies View RelatedSo i was out earlier in the snow, and to my annoyance, it kept beeping saying 'memory full' and then i just click ok. And there obviously wasn't much memory since when people called me it played the default tune which is a sign that it is low on memory. However i look at the phone memory 35mb free.Look at the open applications, and apart from the contacts there was nothing else, but i closed the contacts never the less. However it still kept saying this. However it has seemed to stop now and be fine but never the less i would still like to know if there is any reason that i haven't thought of, of why it might have been saying this?
View 13 Replies View RelatedI am using a Nokia E6, Belle version. I have a simple problem. But the answer to this has not been satisfactory in any forum. My phone memory (C drive) is low, and a warning message keeps popping up. I have done all that I can to free up memory.
1) I have no image, video or any other multimedia stored in the phone memory
2) I am using only one mailbox (active sync - gmail)
3) Only WhatsApp has been installed in the phone memory by default (nobody can install WhatsApp in any other location than the phone memory)
4) Lastly, no other application is installed in my phone memory, other than system files
5)I use a data plan that is always "on"
I want to know what is taking up so much of the phone memory when I have nothing except system files in the C drive?Nokia support give the standard reply -- clean messages, move multimedia from phone memory, etc. But this is illogical since I have no multimedia in C drive. I can't see anything that needs to be moved or cleaned. Also, when I check the memory status, I get at least 300 MB used in the "Others" category of the phone memory. What is this "others" category? I want to access that damn folder and delete everything in it.When I check my phone memory in morning, I have 70 MB free. By noon it comes down to 50 MB. By 7 pm the free memory is less than 5 MB, and then the warnings come.Like I told you, I am using only WhatsApp and Active Sync, is it possible that these two are the culprits? Are they continously downloading something and storing it in my C drive?I request you not to give me the standard "clean your drive" reply since it is not working in my case. Can anybody just tell me what is this "others" folder in C drive that shows up when you long press the drive in the file manager application? How can I free up memory in my C drive? Please, no more standard replies that don't work.
Obviously there are not too many still using the Nokia E72 around here. But of those having updated to firmware version 91.003 how much free mem there is after startup, i.e. with PhoNetInfo or a similar application? With 73.001 I have about 40 to 41MB with unused apps deinstalled or turned off.
View 1 Replies View RelatedGuys we all know the conventional ways to free up a little memory. They are:
1) Battery Pull
2) Memory Cleaning
3) Cleaning Cache
4) Delete Event Log
5) Delete Call Log
6) Delete un-necessary messages
7) Delete unwanted applications (games etc)
8) Ensure that only 5 default applications are running in the background
What I would like everyone is to share if there are any other ways to free up further memory in order to make the phone more faster.
Although I've not downloaded any applications for a couple of months, my free space has declined to less than 5 MB on a regular basis. I store no photos, chats, or emails on the internal memory, just the memory card, and just to see if I can fix things I delete large emails as they arrive to try to stave off the inevitable "0 KB Free" message. Lately of course the BB has been deleting emails and chats, apparently to regain space.
The last time the delete checklist popped up -- "you're about out of memory, why not delete some of the installed apps to retrieve space?" -- I deleted Sprint Navigation, which said it was taking up 71MB. I figured that would give me a lot of breathing room. It completely deleted, I hard-rebooted the device, and... no change to my available memory. I'm still losing space. As a matter of fact, after deleting it and receiving that message, I thought maybe it doesn't understand, so I tried reinstalling it and got the "insufficient memory for installation"! So now I deleted something that's potentially useful -- and worked -- and can't put it back on even though it was just deleted!
When I try to update my maps it says that I don't have enough of free memory. On my phone there is 90 Mb and on my SD-card 5,1 GB. I thought that would be enough?I'm running my phone on the latest update (4.1.B.0.587)
View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm running the latest .587 ICS update on my phone. Since the update, I'm unable to install any further applications on the phone due to "insufficient memory". This would be fine if the Storage showed the Phone memory to be full, but it indicates there is 'free' memory (51MB free apparently). I have also installed App2SD to move all possible apps to the SD card (2GB, 504MB Available).
Details: phone memory 420MB; Apps 327MB, "Available" 50.96MB
Why am I getting the 'insufficient memory alert" if there is Available memory? (Also, the size of the app I want to install is 5mb).
When I enter the Running Services subsection in the default Android Settings menu (in the Applications section), it shows me the amount of used up and free RAM memory in the bottom of the screen. In my case, it reads: 181MB used | 360 MB freehe HTC Desire S specification says it has 768MB RAM so it appears that 227MB of RAM is missing. Is this normal, and does something else use this RAM, and it's notshown on this screen?I am new to the Android platform, so bear with me. By the way, this is not a major concern (for now) the phone functions properly

Haveing seen the explosion of threds about the iphone signal problem I cant help notice the amount of people willing to apcept a free bumper! are people out there heads?
Its a flaw at the end of the day and if apple admit to it will people find it that hard to give up there phone and apcept a free bumper? do we get free screws with the next purchase?
Does anyone have a nokia phone from years back with expess on covers? think the its the 3210 i had I lost the back and if you caught the little metal strip antenna with your hand it killed the signal and droped the call!
Is this whats happening here? It seems the more I read the threds this could be happening with the iphone 4!?
I have been trying to copy some sound data files to the mass memory but it is now saying it is full at 32,252,480KB (32GB) according to PC Suite view. I have added very little but have moved a lot of folders around to organise them better for an audio player and deleted many large folders at the same time, so it should not be full. When I look in File Manager on the phone it says there are 26.4GB free.As a test I deleted another large folder. The free memory according to the phone increased accordingly but the used memory in the PC Suite stayed the same.Surely it does not keep copies in all the previous locations or in some sort of Recycle Bin? If so, how do I empty it?If it is full, why does the phone says it has 26.4GB free? (it is GB not MB!!)
